ey. Unlock the vehicle
L
ock the v

ehicle
Unlock only the rear lid. Press the button
until all the turn signals on the vehicle
flash briefly. You have 2 minutes to open
the rear lid. Once this time has passed, it
will lock again. In addition, the lamp on
the key flashes.
Folding the key shaft in and out
With the vehicle key the vehicle may be
locked or unlocked remotely ››› page 73.

4 The vehicle key includes an emitter and bat-
t
ery. The r

eceiver is in the interior of the vehi-
cle. The range of the vehicle key with remote
control and new battery is several metres
around the vehicle.
If it is not possible to open or close the vehicle
using the remote control key, this should be
re-synchronised ››› page 73 or the battery
changed ››› page 72.
Different keys belonging to the vehicle may
be used.
Control lamp on the vehicle key
When a button is pressed briefly on the vehi-
cle key, the control lamp flashes ››› Fig. 63
(arrow) once briefly, but if pressed for a long
period of time, it will flash several times, for
example, in the convenience opening.
If the vehicle key control lamp does not light
up when the button is pressed, replace the
key's battery ››› page 72.
Spare key
To obtain a spare key and other vehicle keys,
the vehicle chassis number is required.
Each new key contains a microchip which
must be coded with the data from the vehicle
electronic immobiliser. A vehicle key will not
work if it does not contain a microchip or the
microchip has not been encoded. This is also true for keys which are specially cut for the
vehicl
e.
The vehicle keys or new spare keys can be
obtained from a SEAT Official Service, a spe-
cialised workshop or an approved key service
qualified to create this kind of key.
New keys or spare keys must be synchronised
before use ››› page 73. WARNING

Opening and closing
Locking the rear lid with central locking*
If you unl ock the v
ehicle without opening any
doors or the rear lid, it will lock again auto-
matically after about 30 seconds. This func-
tion prevents the vehicle from remaining un-
locked if the unlocking button is pressed by
mistake.
Locking is only possible when the rear lid is
correctly and fully closed.

the ignition.
The light goes out a few seconds after
closing all the doors, when locking the
vehicle or connecting the ignition.

 Turning the reading light on and off Luggage compartment lighting
The light is activ
at

ed when the rear lid is
open, even when the ignition and lights are turned off. For this reason, ensure that the
rear lid is al

ways closed. Note
If not all the vehicle doors are closed, the
int erior lights will be s

witched off after ap-
prox. 10 minutes, providing the ignition key
has been removed and the courtesy light
position selected. This prevents the battery
from discharging. Visibility

out. T o get the best possibl
e air flow towards
the windows, open the corresponding diffuser
and turn it to the de-icing/demisting position,
where it will lock.
There are other additional, non-adjustable air
vents in the instrument panel, in the footwells
and in the rear area of the passenger com-
partment. Note
Food, medicine and other heat or cold sen-
sitiv e ob

jects should never be placed in
front of the air outlets as they may be dam-
aged or made unsuitable for use by the air. Air recirculation
Air recirculation mode prevents the ambient
air fr
om ent

ering the interior.
When the outside temperature is very high,
selecting manual air recirculation mode for a
short period refreshes the vehicle interior
more quickly.
For safety reasons, air recirculation mode is
switched off when the button  is pressed or the air distributor is turned to . Switching the manual air recirculation
mode on and off
