Manual tuning
Automatic tuning - SEEK You can set the frequency of a requested
station by pressing button or . The
frequency keeps changing when you keep
button or pressed. Release the button
to stop tuning. The display will show the set
frequency.
You can skip to the next available station in the
currently selected band by pressing buttonor The tuner will automatically stop
when the next station is found in the desired
direction.

Use buttons or to tune the station you want
to store. Press and hold (for approx. 2s)
selected preset button to memorise the
station. (The sound volume is lowered
temporarily and a beep sounds; then the
station is stored.) You can use6x6pr
esets.
Having stored the stations using the preset
buttons , you can press any of the buttons
briefly to recall the respective station.
The automatic tuning and storage system seeks
all stations within a selected band, selects 6
stations with the strongest signal, and stores
them as presets. Press (AutoStore) button
to start the process. The display shows a
message and the sound is muted
(see picture). 67

12If you select the band, memory
layer will include 6 stations with the strongest
signal in the FM band. As soon as the process is
complete, the FM- AS memory layer is
selected, and preset is chosen. You can switch
to other presets by pressing one of the preset
buttons .

Moving around in the message memory After the traffic information ends, the sound of
the original station, or of a CD, will be Restored.
You can press button at any time to
cancel the playback of traffic information. The symbol will disappear.
Your radio has a special memory which allows
the recording of traffic information for
subsequent replay. Recording is only possible
in the FM band. Recording works even when
you are listening to a CD.
Press button to activate traffic
information playback. The last recorded
message will be played back. Use preset button to play the last recorded message,
designated by the highest sequence number
displayed on the last line of the display. When
the message ends, the next message will be
played back. During playback, the time and
station name (from where the message was
received) are displayed.
If you do not want to listen to a message, you
can interrupt its playback and use the
respective preset button or to switch
to another message.

12 The display always shows information relating
to the message which is to be played. Press
preset button to start the playback of a
selected message.
The traffic information memory holds up to 9
messages, or up to 4 minutes of voice. Older
messages are automatically overwritten by
newer messages. Therefore it's not necessary
to delete old messages. You can delete
selected message, or all messages, if you want
to.
Select a message which is to be deleted and
press preset button . Press preset
button to delete all messages.
After the messages are deleted, the display will
clear.
Your radio allows setting of 2 time periods, in
which the traffic information can be recorded.

1 to set the required times. Set the other time
period by the same procedure.
In the traffic information menu, use preset

beginning of each track is played. The
sequence number of the track on the disc is
displayed at the same time. After 10s, the
beginning of next track is played. You can select
folders to be searched through by pressing the
corresponding preset buttons .

mode. Current track will be played normally.
If you want to play another inserted disc, press
button for the disc selection screen to
appear.
You can select the desired disc by pressing the
appropriate preset button .
To stop disc playback and to switch on the
radio, press button or .

about currently played track and about the
folder. The radio will display track
and folder names in the format in which they
are stored on the MP3 CD.
Individual MP3 files are organized in a
hierarchy commonly used on personal
computers. Due to high number of tracks,
which can besaved to a disc, we recommend
use of folders to organize tracks.

Press preset button to set if you
want the radio backlight switched off when the
headlights are off. If you set , the volume knob
ring will be illuminated whenever the ignition is
on.
If your car is fitted with CLIMATRONIC unit, the
display of your radio will display any manual
change of the settings. This you can check
whether the change you performed was
accepted by the unit. If you want this
confirmation, press preset button and
set to .
Note: the display is only a setting aid. The radio
has no effect on climate unit control, and the
climate unit cannot be controlled from the
radio.
Your radio has an external input allowing
playback from other audio sources. The input is

deactivated.

radio can be used to select sound effects
suitable to particular programs you listen to.

6 implemented sound effect, divided into the

A sound effect which boosts the speech and reduces other sounds,
thus improving the clarity of speech.
A sound effect most appropriate for rock music.
To move to other display with available sound effects.
