WARNINGAlways adjust the headlight beam to meet the following conditions - other-
wise risk of accident.v
The vehicle does not dazzle other road users, especially oncoming vehi-
cles.
v
The beam range is sufficient for safe driving.
Note
v If, with a dipped beam, the ignition is turned off, then the dipped beam will
automatically switch off and the parking lights will come on. Does not apply to
the position , as long as the conditions are met for the COMING HOME
function . The parking lights are switched off when the ignition key is removed
(for vehicles with the KESSY system, after opening the driver

When the interior lights are switched on or the reverse gear is engaged, the
mirror moves back into the basic position (not dimmed).WARNINGv Attach external devices (e.g. navigation system) not in the vicinity of the
mirror with automatic dimming . The illuminated display of an external de-
vice can affect the function of the rear-view mirror - it could cause an acci-
dent.v
The automatic dimming mirror only functions smoothly if the light falling
on the sensors is not compromised (e.g. by the sunshade at the back). The sensors are located on the front and back of the mirror.

Before negotiating a long or steep gradient , reduce speed and shift down a
gear. As a result, the braking effect of the engine will be used, reducing the
load on the brakes. If, nevertheless, there is a need for additional braking, it
should be carried out at intervals.
Emergency braking warning - if it is necessary to brake hard, the system may
cause the brake lights to automatically flash, to alert the traffic behind.
New brake pads must first be “run in” because these do not initially have the
best possible braking effect. Drive especially carefully for the first 200 km or
so.
If the brake fluid level is too low, it can cause faults in the braking system

Headlights
The front of the vehicle may lift up when a trailer (accessory) is being towed
and the headlights may dazzle other road users. Set the range of the headlights

vDo not polish the films
v Do not use a high pressure cleaner on the films.v
Rubber seals
v Do not treat the door seals and window guides deal with anything - the
protective varnish coating could be damaged.
v
Windows and door mirrors
v Do not clean the insides of the windows/mirrors with sharp objects - risk of
damage to the filaments or the antenna.
v Do not use a cloth which has been used to polish the body - this could dirty
the window and impair visibility.
v
Head / taillights
v Do not wipe head/taillights dry, do not use any sharp objects - risk of dam-
age to the protective coating and cracks forming on the headlight glass cov-
ers.
v
Reversing camera
The following instructions must be observed, otherwise there is a risk of
camera damage.
v Do not remove snow / ice with warm / hot water.
v To wash, never use a pressure washer or steam jet.
v For cleaning, do not use abrasive cleaners.
v
Door lock cylinders
v Make sure that as little water as possible gets into the locking cylinder
when washing the vehicle - there is a risk of freezing the lock cylinder!
v
Wheels
v Heavy soiling of the wheels can affect the balance of the wheels - the re-
sult can be a vibration, which can cause premature wear of the steering.

WARNING (Continued)vBulbs H7 H8 and H15 are pressurised and may burst when changing the
bulb - risk of injury! We therefore recommended wearing gloves and safety
glasses when changing a bulb.v
Do not carry out any work on the Xenon gas discharge lamps - risk of
death!
CAUTION
v Do not take hold of the glass bulb with naked fingers (even the smallest
amount of dirt reduces the working life of the light bulb). Use a clean cloth,
napkin, or similar.v
The cap of the filament bulb must always be seated correctly in the head-
light, otherwise this may allow water and debris to enter the headlight - risk of
damage to the headlights.
Note
We recommend that a box of replacement bulbs always be carried in the vehi- cle.
