Technical changes
Introduction
These technical changes are a supplement to the Owner's manual Roomster Edition 05.07 (referred to in the following simply as the Owner's manual).
The information based on th ese technical changes takes preference over the infor- mation contained in the Owner's manual.
Special accessories are marked with a *.

Rear interior lighting*
The rear interior lighting ⇒fig. 1 is actuated by moving the switch to the
symbol ,  or to the middle position O.
Door contact switching mechanism (on the front and rear* door)
– Press the switch to the left, the symbol  ⇒fig. 1 appears.
Switching the interior light on
– Press the switch to the right, the symbol  appears.
Switching the interior light off
– Press the switch into the middle position O.
Reading lights 
– Press on one of the switches ⇒fig. 1 in order to switch the right or
left reading light on or off.
Sun visors
Using the sun visors can contribu te to increasing road safety.
On vehicles which are equipped with double sun visor*, you can also unfold the auxiliary visor after swivelling the sun visor ⇒fig. 2.

Storage compartments on the front passenger side*
Certain model versions are equipped without lid for the storage compart-
ments.
Opening and closing the storage compartments on the front
passenger side
– Pull the handle in the li d in direction of arrow ⇒fig. 3 and fold it open.
– Swivel the flap until it is heard to lock.
A pin holder is located inside the lower flap.
WARNING
The storage compartment must always be closed when driving for safety reasons.
Variable loading floor*
Remove variable loading floor
The variable loading floor makes it easier to handle bulky goods and
creates an even luggage compartmen t floor when the rear seats are
folded forward. The maximum permissa ble surface load of the variable
loading floor is 75 kg.
Remove variable loading floor
– Unhook the loops of the elastic pa rtition out of the fixing points.

– Unlock the loading floor by turnin g the locking bolts by approx.
180° to the left ⇒page 2, fig. 4.
– You can fold together the loading floor by moving in the direction of
arrow.
– Lift up the loading floor in direction of arrow ⇒page 2, fig. 5 and
take out the loading floor by pulling in direction of arrow
⇒ page 2, fig. 5.
Install variable loading floor
– Place the loading floor once folded together onto the carrier rails.
– Fold open the loading floor.
– Lock the loading floor by turning th e locking bolts by approx. 180°
to the right.
– Attach the loops of the elastic partition to the fixing points.
WARNING
Pay attention when installing that the carrier rails and the variable loading floor are correctly fixed, otherw ise the occupants are at risk.
Note
If the variable loading floor* is installed, no flexible storage compartment or fixing net* can be installed.
Remove carrier rails
Install carrier rails
– Slacken the check point on the ca rrier rails using the vehicle key or
a flat screwdriver ⇒fig. 6.
– Grasp the carrier rail ⇒fig. 7 and take it out by pulling in direction
of arrow. The carrier rail on the other side of the luggage compartment
can be removed in the same way.
Install carrier rails
– Position the carrier rails on the sides of the luggage compartment.

– Press the check point on each carrier rail up to the stop.
– Check the attachment of the carrier rails by pulling it.
WARNING
Pay attention when installing that the carrier rails and the variable loading floor are correctly fixed, otherw ise the occupants are at risk.
Take out lateral carrier rail and fixing wedges
Remove lateral carrier rail and fixing wedges
– Grasp the lateral carrier rail ⇒fig. 8 and take it out by pulling in the
direction of arrow.
– Grasp the fixing wedge ⇒fig. 9 and take it out by pulling in the direc-
tion of arrow. The fixing wedge on the other side of the luggage
compartment can be removed in the same way.
Install lateral carrier rail and fixing wedges
– Position the fixing wedges at the attachment points and press these up
to stop in the direction of the luggage compartment sides.
– Insert the lateral carrier rail at an angle to the fixing wedges and press
it up to the stop.
– Check the attachment of the lateral carrier rail by pulling it.
Divide the luggage compartment with variable
loading floor*
The luggage compartment can be divided with the variable loading floor.

– Lift up a part of the loading floor with the handle and secure it by
moving it into the grooves ⇒page 4, fig. 10.
Static separation net*
Install the static separation net behind the front seats or the rear seats.
Install the static separation net behind the rear seats
– Remove the luggage compartment cover.
– Take the separation net out of the bag.
– Unfold both parts of the cross rod until they are heard to engage.
– Insert the cross rod into the mount first on the one side and push
the cross rod forward. In the same way, fix the cross rod to the other
side of the vehicle, mount ⇒fig. 11.
– Hang the carabines at the ends of the strap into the lashing eyes
behind the rear seats.
– Pull the strap through the tensioning clasp, first of all on the one side
and then on the other side.
Remove the static separation net behind the rear seats
– Slacken the bands on both sides and take off the carabines
⇒ fig. 11.
– Push the cross rod first of all on the one side and then on the other
side towards the rear.
– Take the cross rod out of the mounts .
Pack static separation net
– Press the red button of the joint - so that it releases.
– Put the separation net folded together in the bag and close it.
– Attach the bag with the aid of the pl astic carabines to the eyes on the
left and right luggage compartment trim panel.
Installing and removing the static se paration net behind the front seats ⇒fig. 12 is carried out analogously as behind the rear seats. Use the eyes behind the front seats to attach the carabines. Remove the rear seats to enlarge the luggage compartment.
Installing and removing the static separation net behind the rear seats with variable loading floor* ⇒page 2 is carried out analogously as behind the rear seats without variable loading floor. Use the lower eyes at the fixing wedges on the front part of the variable loading floor in order to attach the carabines.

Coolant temperature/coolant level 
After the ignition is switched on the warning light  lights up blue until the engine reaches operating temperature 1). Avoid running at high engine speeds, at full throttle and at severe engine loads. The bl ue warning light goes out once the oper- ating temperature has been reached .
Radio and mobile phone operation
By pressing the buttons, you can carry out the following functions:
Front seat heating*
WARNING
•Do not use the seat heating if objects are fastened or stored on the seat for example a child seat, a bag etc. - a fault in the seat heating system can occur.
Selector lever lock
Keylock2)- Ignition key withdrawal lock
You can only withdraw the ignition key after switching off the ignition if the selector lever is in position P. If the ignition key is withdrawn, the selector lever is blocked in position P.
Vehicle tool kit
1)Not valid for vehicles with information display*.

The vehicle tool kit and the lifting jack, on which a note sticker is affixed, are stored in a plastic box in the spare wheel ⇒page 6, fig. 14. There is also space here for the removable ball for the trailer towing device.
The vehicle tool kit contains the following parts (depending on equipment fitted):
•Torx wrench,
•Wheel wrench,
•Hook for pulling off a full wheel trim,
•To w i n g e y e ,
•Adapter for the wheel bolts lock.
After using the lifting jack, screw in the arm of the lifting jack fully before placing it back in its stowage area.
WARNING
•The factory-supplied lifting jack is only intended for your model of vehicle. On no account attempt to lift a heavier vehicle or other loads - risk of injury!
•Ensure that the vehicle tool kit is safely attached in the luggage compartment.
