Operation by means of an application in the external device
Some device functions can be operated by an application in the external de-
vice such as in a tablet or mobile telephone.
Connection set-up › In the external device, install an application for the device operation (e.g.
ŠKODA Media Command).

Automatic playback stop and disconnection
If an Apple device is connected as a Bluetooth ®
player and is it connected to
the USB input (for example, for the purpose of charging the connected device),
then playback via Bluetooth ®
stops and playback is then only possible via USB.
If the audio source is switched from Bluetooth ®
Players to USB, then there is
an automatic interruption of the Bluetooth ®
connection. The following warning
message appears in the screen Bluetooth audio (A2DP) … Connection cancel-
led.
If the Bluetooth ®
player audio source is connected to the AUX input, then the
audio output is switched from the AUX input of the connected device. For fur-
ther playback the audio source is to be switched to AUX.

If a device is connected to the device using Apple CarPlay, then a connection
using Bluetooth ®
is possible.

The requirement for the WLAN function is the ignition is switched on.
After switching on the ignition, the last-used WLAN connection appears.
WLAN can be used to connect to the Internet or as a source for playing audio
files in the menu Media.
The device allows you to set up the WLAN hotspot on which up to 8 external
devices can be connected, or to connect to an external device via WLAN client.
WLAN hotspot and WLAN client are two independent connections, these can
be turned on simultaneously.
If the external module has a SIM card with activated data services or if there is
a connection with the telephone via the rSAP profile then it is not possible to
connect the device to the external device using WLAN.
