Outside mirror defogger (if equipped) CAUTION
To prevent the battery from being discharged, do not operate the
defogger continuously for any longer than necessary.
The outside mirror defogger shares the switch with rear window
defogger.
The outside mirror defogger operates only when the ignition switch is in the “ON” position.
HS0063
Indicator light
To turn on the outside mirror defogger, push the switch. To turn it off, push the switch again.
The indicator light located on the switch is on while the outside mirror
defogger is operation. The defogger will automatically shut off after
about 15 minutes. If the mirror clears before that time, push the switch
to turn it off. It also turns off when the ignition switch is turned to the “ACC” or “LOCK” position. If defrosting or defogging is desired when
you restart your vehicle, you have to push the switch to turn it onagain.
NOTE While the outside mirror defogger is operating, the rear window defogger also operates

This d ial reg ulates the temp erature of air flow fro m the air outlets over
a rang e from the b lue area (c ool) to red area (warm ).
n Fan speed control lever
The fan op erates only when the ig nition switc h is t urned to the “ON ”
p osition. The fan sp eed c ontrol lever is used to se lec t four fan
sp eed s.n Air flow control dial
This d ial has the following five p ositions:
: Air flows throug h the instrument p anel outlets.
: Air flows throug h the instrument p anel outlets an d the foot
outlets.
: Air flows throug h the foot outlets and some throug h the wind -
shield d efroster outlets.

To d irec t warm air to the wind shield and front d oor wind ows:
1. Set the air inlet selec tion lever to the “
” p osition.
2. Set the air flow c ontrol d ial to the “
” p osition.
3. Turn the temp erature c ontrol d ial all the way to the rig ht.
4. Set the fan sp eed c ontrol lever to the hig hest sp eed .
NOTE
Warm air also comes out from the right and left air outlets. To
stop warm air flow from these outlets, turn the correspondingthumb-wheel to the “
” position.

Bi-level heating

This setting allows you to d irec t air of d ifferent temp eratures from the
instrument p anel and foot outlets. The air from the foot outlets is
slig htly warmer than from the instrument p anel outl ets.
1. Set the air inlet selec tion lever to the “
” p osition.
2. Set the air flow c ontrol d ial to the “
” p osition.
3. Set the temp erature c ontrol d ial to the d esired t emp erature level.
4. Set the fan sp eed c ontrol lever to the d esired sp eed .
Setting the temp erature c ontrol d ial fully turned t o the red area or b lue
area d ec reases the temp erature d ifferenc e b etween t he air from the
instrument p anel outlets and the air from the foot outlets.
