Fast forwarding and fast reverse
n Fast forwarding
Press the “ ❚” b utton Z c ontinuously for more than 0.5 sec ond to
fast forward the d isc .
Release the b utton to stop fast forward ing .
If you c ontinue fast forward ing to the end of the d isc , the CD c hang er
will automatic ally stop fast forward ing and start p layb ac k b eg inning
with the first trac k on the c urrent d isc . n Fast reverse
Press the “❚ ” b utton
Z c ontinuously for more than 0.5 sec ond to
fast reverse the d isc .
Release the b utton to stop fast reverse.
If you c ontinue fast reverse to the b eg inning of th e d isc , the CD
c hang er will automatic ally stop fast reverse and st art p layb ac k b eg in-
ning with the first trac k on the c urrent d isc . Repeat playback
Press the “RPT ” b utton
L while a song is p laying to p lay the song
rep eated ly. The “RPT ” ind ic ator will c ome on and the song will b e
p layed c ontinuously. To c anc el the rep eat mod e, p re ss the b utton
ag ain. Then the “RPT ” ind ic ator g oes out, and normal p layb ac k mod e
is restored . Random playback
Press the “RAND ” b utton
K while a d isc is b eing p layed b ac k to p lay
all song s on the d isc in a rand om ord er. The “RAND ” ind ic ator will
c ome on and all song s on the d isc will b e p layed in a rand om ord er.
To c anc el the rand om mod e, p ress the b utton ag ain. Then the
“ RAND ” ind ic ator g oes out, and normal p layb ac k mod e is re stored .
Scan
When the “SCAN ” b utton
H is p ressed while the d isc is b eing p layed
b ac k, you c an hear the first 10 sec ond s of eac h tra c k to searc h for
the d esired p rog ram. To c ontinue listening to the p rog ram, p ress the
“ SCAN ” b utton ag ain. After all trac ks on the d isc have b e en sc anned ,
normal p layb ac k mod e is restored .

trolled b y turning the d ial. Tone and balance control
The volume c ontrol d ial 6 normally func tions as a volume c ontrol.
This d ial b ec omes a c ontrol for Bass, Treb le, Fad er or Balanc e when
you selec t the ap p rop riate tone and b alanc e c ontrol mod e.

Push the “FM/AM ” b utton 3 when the rad io is on to selec t FM1, FM2
or AM rec ep tion. Eac h time this b utton is p ressed , the b and will
c hang e in the following ord er:

Stereo indicator
The stereo ind ic ator “ST ” will c ome on when an FM stereo b road c ast
is rec eived . Manual tuning (TUNING)
Press the tuning b utton 1 marked “ ” to inc rease the tuning freq uen-
c y and p ress the tuning b utton marked “ ” to d ec rease it.
Eac h time the b utton is p ressed , the freq uenc y c han g es 10 kHz in the
AM mod e and 0.2 MHz in the FM mod e.
Constant p ressure on the b utton c auses a c ontinuous c hang e in the
freq uenc y. Automatic tuning (SCAN)
Press the “SCAN ” b utton
2 to c hang e the rad io to the SCAN mod e. In
this mod e, the rad io sc ans throug h the rad io b and u ntil a station is
found . The rad io will stop at the station for five sec ond s while d isp lay-
ing the freq uenc y, after whic h sc anning will c ontin ue until the entire
b and has b een sc anned from the low end to the hig h end .
Press the “SCAN ” b utton ag ain to c anc el the SCAN mod e and to stop
on any d isp layed freq uenc y.
When the “SCAN ” b utton is p ressed for automatic tuning , stations a re
sc anned in the d irec tion of low freq uenc ies to hig h freq uenc ies only.
Automatic tuning may not func tion p rop erly if the s tation rec ep tion is
weakened b y d istanc e from the station or p roximity to tall b uild ing s
and hills.

Selecting preset stations
Presetting a station with a p reset b utton 4 allows you to selec t that
station in a sing le op eration. Up to six AM, FM1 an d FM2 stations
eac h may b e p reset. How to preset stations
1. Press the “FM/AM ” selec tion b utton
3 to selec t FM1, FM2 or AM
rec ep tion.
2. Press the “SCAN ” b utton 2 or tune the rad io manually until the d e-
sired station freq uenc y is d isp layed .
3. Press one of the p reset b uttons 4 for at least two seconds to
store the freq uenc y. The freq uenc y of the station w ill flash onc e on the
d isp lay at this time. If the b utton is p ressed for less than two sec ond s,
the p rec ed ing selec tion will remain in memory.
NOTE If the connection between the radio and battery is broken for any
reason such as vehicle maintenance or radio removal, all stationsstored in the preset buttons are cleared. If this occurs, it is neces-sary to reset the preset buttons.

NOTE Only use good quality cassettes (cassettes longer than C-90 are
not recommended). Put cassettes back in their boxes immediately after use to protect
them from dust and dirt and to prevent the tape from unwinding. Never expose cassettes to heat, direct sunlight or moisture.
Clean the tape head (once or twice a month) using a wet-type
cleaning cassette .
Cassette slot

end of the tap e is reac hed . This allows the op p osit e sid e of the tap e
to p lay, p rovid ing c ontinuous p layb ac k. Fast-forward button

Before the ig nition switc h is turned to the “OFF ” p osition, ejec t the
tap e from the p layer. Always make c ertain that you remove the c as-

Press “BNR ” b utton
Q when p laying tap es rec ord ed using the Dolb y
NR system*. The “BNR ” ind ic ator will lig ht up and hig h-freq uenc y
noise on the tap e will b e red uc ed for c learer sound rep rod uc tion.

Use only music CDs identified by
mark.
Do not use CDs listed below which could cause damage to the
CD player. Any disc with a peel-off or seal on it.
Any disc with scratches and/or dust.
Bent disc.
Cleaning disc.
CD accessory. (E.g., 3-inch (8 cm) disc adapter)
Do not insert or remove any disc when the automatic transmis-
sion selector lever is in the park position; the selector lever in that position can interfere with disc insertion or removal, causing
scratches on the disc surface (for AT vehicles).
To insert a disc
Be sure to hold a d isc with the lab el sid e (the sid e where titles are
p rinted ) up .
Push the d isc into the slot.
The d isc will b e automatic ally set in p osition b y t he auto-load ing
mec hanism and b eg in p laying .
The d isc ind ic ator will turn on as the CD b eg ins p l aying .
n Disc indicator
Lit: A d isc is in the slot (When the ig nition switc h is in the “ON ” or
“ ACC ” p osition).
OFF: No d isc is load ed or the ig nition switc h is in the “Loc k ” p osition.
To remove disc left in slot
Simp ly p ress the “Ejec t b utton ”
3 and the d isc will b e ejec ted . This
p roc ed ures is effec tive even when the ig nition swit c h is in the “LOCK ”

n When CD is not in the player
Hold a d isc with a fing er in the c enter hole while g rip p ing the ed g e of
the d isc , then insert it in to the slot (with the l ab el sid e up ) and the
p layer will automatic ally p ull the d isc into p ositi on.
A 8 c m/3 inc h CD may also b e used without any ad ap t er.
NOTE DO NOT INSERT TWO DISCS INTO THE DISC INSERTION
SLOT AT A TIME. Be sure to always insert a disc with the label side up. If a disc
is inserted with the label side down, it might be ejected or theplayer might shut off. After the last song finishes, the player will automatically return
to track 1 (the first song on the disc).
