n Forward direction
Briefly p ress the “ ❚” b utton 5 to skip to the b eg inning of the next

Briefly p ress the “❚ ” b utton 7 to skip to the b eg inning of the c ur-

Press the “SCN/TOP ” b utton
3 and release it in less than 2 sec ond s,
and you c an hear the first 10 sec ond s of eac h trac k to seac h for the
d esired p rog ram. To c ontinue listening to the p rog r am, p ress the
“ SCAN ” b utton ag ain. After all trac ks on the d isc has b ee n sc anned ,
normal p layb ac k mod e is restored . To p

To eject a disc from the player
When a d isc is b eing p layed b ac k or when a d isc is in the p layer,
p ress the ejec t b utton “
”. The d isc will b e ejec ted .
The d isc may b e removed even when the ig nition swit c h is in the
“ LOCK ” p osition.
NOTE Avoid driving the vehicle with a CD sticking out, because
vibration might make it fall out. To protect the disc, the disc is automatically loaded if it is left
in the ejected position for more than approximately 15 seconds(Auto Reload). In this case, the disc is not played.

CAUTION
Do not attempt to insert two or more discs into the slot at a
time. Doing so can cause mechanical damage to the CD changer. Use only music CDs identified by a
mark.
Do not use CDs listed below which could cause damage to the
CD player.
3-inch (8 cm) compact disc.
Any disc with a peel-off or seal on it.
Any disc with scratches and/or dust.
Bent disc.
Cleaning disc.
CD accessory. (E.g., 3-inch (8 cm) disc adapter)
Do not insert or remove any disc when the automatic transmis-
sion selector lever is in the park position; the selector lever in that position can interfere with disc insertion or removal, causing
scratches on the disc surface (for AT vehicles).

To insert a disc
1. Press one of the “Disc selec t ” b uttons 3 (numb ered from 1 to 6)
for whic h the d isc ind ic ator lig ht 2 is “OFF ”.
The Disc ind ic ator lig hts are loc ated d irec tly ab ov e the c orresp ond ing
“ Disc selec t ” b uttons.
2. The ind ic ator will b eg in b linking . The b linking w ill last for 15 se-
c ond s.
During this p eriod , insert a d esired d isc , and the d isc will b eg in to
p lay. (If any d isc is not inserted d uring this p eri od , the “Disc slot ”

d oor will c lose. Rep eat step 1.)
Be sure to hold a d isc with the lab el sid e (the sid e where titles are
p rinted ) up .
3. To insert another d isc , rep eat step 1 and 2 c hoos ing a d ifferent
d isc selec t b utton. To insert six discs at a time
1. Press and hold the “Disc selec t ” b utton numb er 1 until all d isc ind i-
c ators b eg in b linking (ab out 1.5 sec ond s).
2. The ind ic ators will b link for 15 sec ond s. During this p eriod , insert
d esired six d isc s.
3. When all d isc s are load ed , the first d isc will b e g in to p lay. (If no
d isc is inserted within this 15 sec ond s, the entire d isc load seq uenc e
will b e c anc eled .) To remove a disc
1. Press the d esired one of the “Disc selec t ” b uttons

To remove all discs at one time
1. Press and hold the “Ejec t ” b utton 4 until all “Disc ” ind ic ators b eg in
b linking (ab out 1.5 sec ond s), and the first d isc wi ll b e ejec ted .
2. When the d isc is removed , the next one will b e ej ec ted , and so on.
To replace a playing disc with another
Simp ly p ress the d esired one of “Disc selec t ” b uttons
3 (numb ered
from 1 to 6) or p ress the “DISC UP ” or “DISC DOWN ” b utton on the
rad io unit to selec t the d esired d isc , and the d isc will b eg in to p lay.
Disc indicators
Lit: when the c orresp ond ing storag e tray is oc c up ie d b y a d isc .
Blinking : Disc p layer is either in load ing , ejec t o r c hang ing mod e.
OFF: No d isc is load ed or the ig nition switc h is in the “LOCK ” p osition.

Precautions to observe when handling a compact disc (CD)
To remove a d isc from the c ase, p ress the c enter of the c ase and hold
b oth ed g es of the d isc . If the d isc surfac e is touc hed d irec tly, c ontamina-
tion c ould c ause p oor tone q uality. Do not touc h th e d isc surfac e.
Use a c lean d isc whenever p ossib le. If there are d e p osits, wip e the
d isc surfac e from the c enter outward with a d ry, so ft c loth. Be sure not to
use a hard c loth, thinner, b enzene, alc ohol, etc . Never use a b ad ly d amag ed , d eformed or c rac ked d isc . Malfunc tions
or p rob lems mig ht result. A d isc is vulnerab le to heat. Never keep it either in p lac es exp osed to
d irec t sunlig ht, near heaters or in vehic les p arked in the sun or hot d ays.

Cargo area light
The interior lig ht switc h has three p ositions: ON:
The lig ht stays on c ontinuously.
DOOR: Dome lig ht — The lig ht c omes on only when any d oor is op ened .
Carg o area lig ht (if eq uip p ed ) — The lig ht c omes on only when the rear
g ate is op ened .OFF: The lig ht stays off.
When leaving your vehic le, make sure the lig ht is t urned off to avoid b at-
tery d isc harg e.
Dome/Rear map reading light (if equipped)
CAUTION
Do not use excessive force or sharp objects to activate the
switches. Do not spray cleaner directly on the dome light lens or the
switches. Remove the lens and use a damp cloth to clean the switch sur-
faces.

Press the “MAP ON/OFF ” switc h 4 onc e to turn on the map lig ht at

whic h d imming zone area is p ressed .

The switch color will change to indicate position setting.
Green indicates current switch while the other switches will be
Red . (Map light switches will be Yellow regardless of setting).
Switch indicator lights will shut off when not in use, but will
come back on when any switches are touched. The light assembly is equipped with a time delayed-off feature.
The lights will remain on for a few seconds after all vehicle doorsare closed. If a map light is in use and the door is opened, the map light
will maintain its current setting even after the door is closed. The light assembly is equipped with a 1 hour sleep mode timer
that will turn off any light that may be accidentally left on. Touch-ing any switch will reactivate the unit and allow for continued op-
eration.
