High/low beam change (dimmer)
To c hang e from low b eam to hig h b eam, p ush the turn sig nal lever
forward . When the head lig hts are on hig h b eam, the hig h b eam ind i-
c ator lig ht “a ” on the instrument p anel is also on.
To switc h b ac k to low b eam, p ull the lever b ac k to the d etent p osition.
Headlight flasher CAUTION
Do not hold the lever in the flashing position for more than just a few seconds.
To flash the head lig hts, p ull the lever toward you and then release it.
The hig h b eam will stay on for as long as you hold the lever. The
head lig ht flasher works even thoug h the lig hting sw itc h is in the “OFF ”
p osition.
When the head lig hts are on hig h b eam, the hig h b eam ind ic ator lig ht
“ a ” on the instrument p anel also c omes on.
Daytime running light system
WARNING
The tail lights, parking lights, and side marker lights are not turned on by the daytime running light system. The light switchmust always be turned to the “a ” position when it is dark out-
side.
The low b eam head lig hts will automatic ally c ome on at red uc ed b rig ht-
ness when the eng ine has started , und er the followi ng c ond itions:
The p arking b rake is fully released .
The lig ht switc h is in the “OFF ” or “p ” p osition.

Fader and balance control
The volume c ontrol d ial 7 normally func tion as volume c ontrol. The
d ial b ec ome the c ontrols for Fad er or Balanc e when you selec t the

Choose d esired setting for eac h mod e b y turning the volume c ontrol
d ial. The c ontrol func tion returns to volume c ontro l mod e after ab out 5
sec ond s.

6 c hang es c ontrol mod es in the following seq uenc e st arting from
fad er c ontrol mod e. (When the rad io is turned on, t he c ontrol mod e is

Push the “FM/AM ” b utton
1 when the rad io is off to turn on the rad io.
Push the “FM/AM ” b utton when the rad io is on to selec t FM1, FM2 or
AM rec ep tion. Eac h time this b utton is p ressed , the b and will c hang e

NOTE
If a disc is in the player, the “CD” button is used to change
from CD player operation to CD changer operation. Each time the
“CD” button is pressed, the operating mode will change alter-
nately. At the end of the disc, the player automatically continues with
the next disc. After playback on the last disc finishes, playback will automat-
ically return to the first disc. If you have loaded fewer than 6 discs, any missing disc is

CAUTION
Do not attempt to insert two or more discs into the slot at a
time. Doing so can cause mechanical damage to the CD changer. Use only music CDs identified by a
mark.
Do not use CDs listed below which could cause damage to the
CD player.
3-inch (8 cm) compact disc.
Any disc with a peel-off or seal on it.
Any disc with scratches and/or dust.
Bent disc.
Cleaning disc.
CD accessory. (E.g., 3-inch (8 cm) disc adapter)
Do not insert or remove any disc when the automatic transmis-
sion selector lever is in the park position; the selector lever in that position can interfere with disc insertion or removal, causing
scratches on the disc surface (for AT vehicles).

The switch color will change to indicate position setting.
Green indicates current switch while the other switches will be
Red . (Map light switches will be Yellow regardless of setting).
Switch indicator lights will shut off when not in use, but will
come back on when any switches are touched. The light assembly is equipped with a time delayed-off feature.
The lights will remain on for a few seconds after all vehicle doorsare closed. If a map light is in use and the door is opened, the map light
will maintain its current setting even after the door is closed. The light assembly is equipped with a 1 hour sleep mode timer
that will turn off any light that may be accidentally left on. Touch-ing any switch will reactivate the unit and allow for continued op-
eration.

c ruise c ontrol ac tivated . Simp ly d ep ress the ac c ele rator p ed al to ac -
c elerate the vehic le. When the ac c elerator p ed al is released , the ve-
hic le will return to and maintain the p revious c rui sing sp eed .
To temporarily cancel the cruise control
There are four ways to c anc el the c ruise c ontrol te mp orarily:
Dep ress the b rake p ed al.
Pull the c ontrol lever in the “CANCEL ” d irec tion. (if so eq uip p ed )
Dep ress the c lutc h p ed al (manual transmission vehic les only).
Shift the selec tor lever into the “N ” p osition (automatic transmis-
sion vehic les only).
To resume the c ruise c ontrol after it has b een temp orarily c anc eled
and with vehic le sp eed of ab out 20 mp h (32 km/h) or more, p ush the
c ontrol lever up ward in the “ACCEL, RESUME ” d irec tion to return to
the orig inal c ruising sp eed automatic ally. To turn off the cruise control
There are two ways to turn off the c ruise c ontrol:
Push the main switc h ag ain.
Turn the ig nition switc h to the “ACC ” p osition (b ut only when the
vehic le is c omp letely stop p ed ).
To change the cruising speed
n To increase the speed
1. Push the c ontrol lever up ward in the “ACCEL, RESUME ” d irec tion
and hold it until the vehic le reac hes the d esired s p eed .
When the d ifferenc e b etween the ac tual vehic le sp ee d and the set
sp eed is less than 4 mp h (6.8 km/h), the set sp eed c an b e inc reased
1 mp h (1.6 km/h) eac h time b y p ressing the c ontrol lever up ward in
the “ACCEL, RESUME ” d irec tion q uic kly within a half sec ond .
