The c ontrol unit of the keyless entry system has fo ur memory loc a-
tions to store transmitter c od es, g iving it the ab i lity to op erate with up
to four transmitters. When you lose a transmitter, the lost transmitter’s
c od e remains in the memory. For sec urity reasons, l ost transmitter
c od es should b e d eleted from the memory.
To d elete old transmitter c od es, p rog ram four trans mitter c od es into
the system. If you have only one c urrent transmitte r, p rog ram it four
times. If you have two c urrent transmitters, p rog ra m eac h one twic e. If
you have three c urrent transmitters, p rog ram two of them onc e and
the third one twic e. This p roc ess will leave only c urrent transmitter
c od es in the system ’s memory.
NOTE
Make sure no one else is operating their keyless entry system within range of your vehicle when programming transmitters. If
someone else were to operate their remote transmitter while youare programming your transmitters, it is possible that their trans-mitter code will be programmed into your system, allowing themunauthorized access to your vehicle.
