CAUTION
Do not expose the transmitter to severe shocks, such as those
experienced as a result of dropping or throwing. Do not take the transmitter apart except when replacing the
battery. Do not get the transmitter wet. If it gets wet, wipe it dry with a
cloth immediately. This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules and with RSS-210 of Industry Canada. Operation is subject to the followingtwo conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interfer-
ence, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.
Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party
responsible for compliance could void the user ’s authority to
operate the equipment.
Two transmitters are p rovid ed for your vehic le.
The keyless entry system has the following func tion s.
Loc king and unloc king the d oors (and rear g ate on t he station wag on)
without a key Sound ing a p anic alarm
Arming and d isarming the sec urity system (if your v ehic le is eq uip p ed
with an op tional sec urity system). See the next sec tion “Sec urity system
(if eq uip p ed ) ” for d etailed information.
The op erab le d istanc e of the keyless entry system i s ap p roximately 30
feet (10 meters). However, this d istanc e will vary d ep end ing on environ-
mental c ond itions. Rang e may b e red uc ed near sourc e s of RF interfer-
enc e suc h as p ower p lants and rad io/television b roa d c asting towers.
The keyless entry system d oes not op erate when the key is inserted in
the ig nition switc h.

If you lose a transmitter or want to p urc hase ad d it ional transmitters
(up to four c an b e p rog rammed ), you should re-p rog r am all of your
transmitters for sec urity reasons. It is rec ommend e d that you have
your d ealer p rog ram all of your transmitters into y our system.
n Programming the transmitters
The keyless entry system is eq uip p ed with a sp ec ial c od e learning
feature that allows you to p rog ram new transmitter c od es into the sys-
tem or to d elete old ones. The system c an learn up to four uniq ue
transmitter c od es. The four transmitter c od es may b e the same or d if-
ferent.

To exit the programming mode:
1. After all of your transmitters are p rog rammed , re move the key from
the ig nition switc h.
The horn will sound three times to ind ic ate that th e system has exited
the p rog ramming mod e.
2. Make sure that the keyless entry system p rop erly op erates b y
op erating eac h transmitter. n Deleting old transmitter codes
The c ontrol unit of the keyless entry system has fo ur memory loc a-
tions to store transmitter c od es, g iving it the ab i lity to op erate with up
to four transmitters. When you lose a transmitter, the lost transmitter’s
c od e remains in the memory. For sec urity reasons, l ost transmitter
c od es should b e d eleted from the memory.
To d elete old transmitter c od es, p rog ram four trans mitter c od es into
the system. If you have only one c urrent transmitte r, p rog ram it four
times. If you have two c urrent transmitters, p rog ra m eac h one twic e. If
you have three c urrent transmitters, p rog ram two of them onc e and
the third one twic e. This p roc ess will leave only c urrent transmitter
c od es in the system ’s memory.
NOTE
Make sure no one else is operating their keyless entry system within range of your vehicle when programming transmitters. If
someone else were to operate their remote transmitter while youare programming your transmitters, it is possible that their trans-mitter code will be programmed into your system, allowing themunauthorized access to your vehicle.
