Move the seat as far back as possible.
WARNING
Do not put any objects over the steering wheel pad and dash-
board. If the SRS frontal airbag deploys, those objects could in-
terfere with its proper operation and could be propelled inside the
vehicle and cause injury. Do not attach accessories to the windshield, or fit an extra-
wide mirror over the rear view mirror. If the SRS airbag deploys,those objects could become projectiles that could seriously in-jure vehicle occupants.

The wind shield wip er d eic er op erates only when the
ig nition switc h is in
the “ON ” p osition.
Before turning on the wind shield wip er d eic er, remo ve any snow from the
wind shield . To turn on the wind shield wip er d eic er, p ush the switc h. The
ind ic ator lig ht loc ated on the switc h lig hts up whi le the wind shield wip er
d eic er is op erating .
The wind shield wip er d eic er will automatic ally shut off after ab out 15 min-
utes. If the wip er b lad es have b een d eic ed c omp lete ly b efore that time,
p ush the switc h to turn it off. It also turns off w hen the ig nition switc h is
turned to the “ACC ” or “LOCK ” p osition. If d eic ing is not c omp lete when
you restart your vehic le, you have to p ush the swit c h to turn the d eic er
on ag ain. Mirrors

of the mirror toward you for the nig ht p osition. Pu sh it away for the d ay

Compass mirror (if equipped)

The insid e elec tronic c omp ass mirror has an anti-g l are feature whic h
automatic ally red uc es g lare c oming from head lig hts of vehic les b e-
hind you. It also c ontains a b uilt-in c omp ass. By p ressing and releasing the left b utton, the auto matic d imming
func tion is tog g led on or off. When the automatic d imming func tion is
on, the auto d imming ind ic ator lig ht (g reen) loc ate d to the rig ht of the
b utton will illuminate. By p ressing and releasing the rig ht b utton, the c om p ass d isp lay is
tog g led on or off. When the c omp ass is on, an illum inated c omp ass
read ing will ap p ear in the lower p art of the mirror .
Even with the mirror in anti-g lare mod e, the mirror surfac e turns b rig ht
if the transmission is shifted into reverse. This i s to ensure g ood rear-
ward visib ility d uring reversing .

The mirror has a p hotosensor attac hed on b oth the f ront and b ac k
sid es. If the g lare from the head lig hts of vehic les b ehind you strikes
the mirror, these sensors d etec t it and make the re flec tion surfac e of
the mirror d immer to help p revent you from b eing b l ind ed . For this
reason, use c are not to c over the sensors with stic kers, or other simi-
lar items. Period ic ally wip e the sensors c lean usin g a p iec e of d ry soft
c otton c loth or an ap p lic ator. n Compass calibration
1. For op timum c alib ration, switc h off all nonessent ial elec tric al ac -
c essories (rear wind ow d efog g er, heater/air c ond iti oning system,
sp otlig ht, etc .) and ensure all d oors are shut.
2. Drive to an op en, level area away from larg e meta llic ob jec ts or
struc tures and make c ertain the ig nition switc h is in the “ON ” p osition.
3. Press and hold the left b utton for 3 sec ond s then release, and the
c omp ass will enter the c alib ration mod e. “CAL ” and d irec tion will b e
d isp layed .
4. Drive slowly in a c irc le until “CAL ” d isap p ears from the d isp lay
(ab out two or three c irc les).
5. The c omp ass is now c alib rated . Further c alib ratio n is not req uired .
The c omp ass will automatic ally c alib rate from this p oint forward .

1. The zone setting is fac tory p reset to Zone 8. Ref er to the “Com-
p ass c alib ration zone ” map shown ab ove or one attac hed to the end
of this manual to verify that the c omp ass zone sett ing is c orrec t for
your g eog rap hic al loc ation.
2. Press and hold the rig ht b utton for 3 sec ond s the n release, and the
word “ZONE ” will b riefly ap p ear and then the zone numb er will b e d is-
p layed .
3. Press the rig ht hand b utton rep eated ly to c yc le t he d isp lay throug h
all p ossib le zone setting s. Stop c yc ling when the c orrec t zone setting
for your loc ation is d isp layed .
4. Releasing the b utton for 3 sec ond s will exit the zone setting mod e.
Outside mirrors Convex mirror (Passenger side)
WARNING
Objects look smaller in a convex mirror and farther away than
when viewed in a flat mirror. Do not use the convex mirror tojudge the distance of vehicles behind you when changing lanes.
Use the inside mirror (or glance backwards) to determine theactual size and distance of objects that you view in convex mir-
ror.

1. Press either end of the selec tion switc h, “L ” for the left, “R ” for the
rig ht.
2. Move the d irec tion c ontrol switc h in the d irec tio n you want to move
the mirror.
3. Return the selec tion switc h to the neutral p ositi on to p revent
unintentional op eration.
The mirrors c an also b e ad justed manually.
