*1The indicator lights up when the engine coolant temperature is low. If the
indicator remains lit blue after the engine is warmed up enough, have it
inspected at Toyota dealer.
*2These lights turn on when the engine swit ch is turned to “ON”, to indicate that
a system check is being performed. Th ey will turn off after the engine is
started, or after a few seconds. There may be a malfunction in a system if a
light does not come on, or if the light s do not turn off. Have the vehicle
inspected at your Toyota dealer.
*3It is indicated on the outside rear view mirror.
WARNING
⬛If a safety system warning light does not come on
If warning lights for the safety system such as ABS, and SRS airbags do not
turn on when you turn the engine switch to “ON”, or if the lights remain lit after
a few minutes or when you start the engi ne, the safety system may not operate
in the event of an accident, result ing in serious injury or death.
Have the vehicle inspected at your Toyota dealer immediately.

While the vehicle is parked with the engine switch turned “ON”, you can
specify or adjust the display and configure the function settings by press-
ing the / switch to change the menu to .
Note that the screen is not operable while the vehicle is running. Be sure

Inside rear view mirror
The inside rear view mirror’s position can be adjusted to enable suffi-
cient confirmation of the rear view.Adjustment procedure
The inside rear view mirror’s position can be adjusted according to the
driver’s position.
Adjust it by holding the inside rear
view mirror body
Anti-glare function
Operate the lever to reduce the reflected light by the headlights of the
vehicle behind you.

Do not adjust the mirror while driving.

⬛Operating conditions (electric type)
When the engine switch is “ACC” or “ON”
⬛Using “Automatic mode” in cold weather (vehicles with key-free system)
When using “Automatic mode” in cold weather, the mirrors may not be folded
or extended automatically if the outsid e rear view mirrors get frozen. If this
happens, remove ice or snow covering the outside rear view mirrors, and acti-
vate them by using “Manual mode” or move the mirrors with your hands.
⬛Disabling folding (or extension) in the automatic mode (vehicles with key-
free system)
Set the switch to the extend (or fold) position.
⬛Customization (vehicles with key-free system)
You can customize the operation contents of the automatic mode. (List of cus-

WARNING
⬛Important points while driving
Be sure to observe the following pr ecautions while driving the vehicle.
Failure to do so may result in mishandling of the vehicle and cause an accident,
resulting in death or serious injury.
⚫Do not adjust the mirrors while driving
⚫Do not drive with the outside rear view mirrors folded
⚫Both the driver and passenger side mirrors must be extended and properly
adjusted before driving
⬛When the mirror is moving (electric type)
Do not touch it with your hands.
Doing so could get your hands caught and cause injury or the mirror to mal-
function.
⬛Adjusting the mirrors (manual type)
Do not adjust them with dirty hands. If the mirror surface gets dirty, it will
cause diffused reflection of the lights fr om behind during nighttime etc., which
is extremely dangerous as it could compromise the visibility.

⬛Automatic light off system
⚫While the lights are turned on, changi ng the engine switch from “ON” to
“ACC” or “OFF” will automatically turn off the lit lights.
⚫To turn the lights on again, turn “ON” the engine switch or move the head-
light switch to the position, and then move it to the or
position.
⬛Automatic light-off warning buzzer
When the headlights and tail lights are tu rned on with the engine switch set to
“ACC” or “OFF”, opening the driver’s door will cause the warning buzzer to
sound, letting the driver know that the lights have not been turned off.
⚫When the buzzer sounds , the warning message also appears for vehicles
with TFT color multi-information display. ( ➞P. 391)
⬛Power saving function
To prevent the battery from discharging, when the engine switch is set in “ACC”
or “OFF” and the headlights or tail lig hts are on, the power saving function is
activated and all lights are automatically turned off after about 10 minutes.
After light has been automatically turn ed off, perform any of the following
operations to cancel the power saving state and turn the lights back on.
⚫
When the engine switch is set to “ON”
⚫When the headlight switch is operated (However, the lights will turn off again
automatically after about 10 minutes)
⚫When one of the doors is opened or cl osed (However, the lights will automati-
cally turn off again after about 10 minutes)
⬛Customizations✽
You can change the timing of the headlight switch turning on and off automat-
ically at the position, etc.

NOTICE
⬛To prevent battery discharge
Do not leave the lights on for a long ti me with the engine stopped. Also, be
sure to turn off the lights when you leave the vehicle.

If the washer fluid does not come out even though the washer fluid tank level
is not low, check the nozzles for clogging.

WARNING
⬛Caution regarding the use of washer fluid
When it is cold, do not use the wash er fluid until the windshield becomes
warm. The fluid may fr eeze on the windshield and cause low visibility. This may
lead to an accident, resulting in death or serious injury.
NOTICE
⬛When the windshield is dry
Do not use the windshield wipers,
as they may damage the windshield.
⬛When the washer fluid does not come out
Do not operate the switch continually
as you may damage th e washer fluid pump.
⬛When a nozzle becomes clogged
When a nozzle becomes clogged, contact your Toyota dealer.
Do not try to clear it with a pin or other object.
The nozzle will be damaged.
⬛To prevent battery discharge
Do not leave the windshield wipers on longer than necessary when the engine
is not running.

⬛Water droplets and condensation in the lens
Temporary condensation build-up on the inside of the lens does not indicate a
malfunction. However, contact your Toyota dealer in the following situations:
⚫Large drops of water have built up on the inside of the lens
⚫Water has built up inside the light
⬛When replacing light bulbs

WARNING
⬛When replacing light bulbs
⚫Turn off the lights. Do not attempt to replace the bulb immediately after
turning off the lights. The bulbs be come very hot and may cause burns.
There is also a danger of electric shock.
⚫Do not touch the glass portion of the light bulb with bare hands.
When it is unavoidable to hold the gl ass portion, use and hold with a clean
dry cloth to avoid getting moisture and oils on the bulb.
Also, if the bulb is scratched or dropped, it may blow out or crack.
⚫Fully install light bulbs and any parts us ed to secure them. Failure to do so
may result in heat damage, fire, or water entering the headlight unit. This
may damage the headlights or cause condensation to build up on the lens.
⚫Do not repair or disassemble light bulbs, sockets, electrical circuits, or com-
ponents.
Electric shock may result in death or serious injury.
⬛To prevent vehicle damage or fire
⚫Make sure bulbs are securely in stalled in the correct position.
⚫Check the wattage of the bulb before installing to prevent heat damage.

If a warning light turns on
If a warning light remains on or flashes, remain calm and take the
following actions. Even if the warn ing light lights up or flashes then
goes out, it is not a malfunction. However, if the same phenomenon
occurs again, have the vehicle inspected at your Toyota dealer.
