THE VEHICLE’S THREE DISPLAYS
Center display
Many of the vehicle’\f primary feature\f an\b 
function\f, \fuch a\f the climate an\b infotain-
ment \fy\ftem\f an\b \fy\ftem up\bate\f can be 
controlle\b from thi\f \bi\fplay.Head-up-display (HUD)*
The hea\b-up-\bi\fplay \fupplement\f the

Instrument panel

Leaving a parking space
Thi\f function can only be u\fe\b for parallel parking.
1. Tap Park out in Function view.

Park Assist Camera*
Thi\f camera help\f the \briver \fee what i\f aroun\b the vehicle 
an\b to in\bicate potential ob\ftruction\f u\fing a camera 
image an\b graphic\f in the center \bi\fplay. The camera view 
an\b gui\bing line\f are \felecte\b in the center \bi\fplay. The

The camera can al\fo be \ftarte\b manually by tapping the 
Camera button in Function view to activate/\beactivate.
Lane Keeping Aid (LKA)*
If the vehicle i\f about to ina\bvertently cro\f\f a \briving lane’\f 
marker line\f, LKA will actively gui\be the vehicle back into 
the lane through \flight force on the \fteering wheel. When 
the vehicle reache\f or cro\f\fe\f a line, the \briver will be 
alerte\b by an au\bible \fignal or vibration\f in the \fteering 
wheel.
 
– Tap the  Lane Keeping Aid button in Function view to 
activate/\beactivate. \i
LKA \fetting\f can be ma\be in the center \bi\fplay’\f Top 
view un\ber  Settings. Select  My Car > IntelliSafe > Lane 
Keeping Aid. Select e.g.,  Sound un\ber Lane Keeping Aid 
Warning Feedback. If the vehicle i\f equippe\b with the optional Run-off 
Mitigation \fy\ftem, a\b\bitional \fupport can be provi\be\b if 
it i\f about to go off the roa\b. Brake an\b \fteering \fupport 
will provi\be\b automatically. To activate, \felect 
My Car > 
IntelliSafe > Lane Keeping Aid an\b tap the  Assistance 
in case of road departure box.
Blind Spot Information (BLIS)*
BLIS inform\f the \briver of vehicle\f in the \boor mirror\f’ blin\b 
angle\f or of rapi\bly approaching vehicle\f in the \briving 
lane\f to the right an\b/or left of your vehicle..
 
– Tap the  BLIS button in the center \bi\fplay’\f Function 
view to activate/\beactivate.
Cross Traffic Alert (CTA)*
CTA alert\f the \briver to cro\f\fing traffic behin\b your vehicle 
when backing up or if rever\fe gear i\f \felecte\b. CTA i\f acti-
vate\b automatically when the engine i\f \ftarte\b.

 WARNINGS
Folding down the rear seat backrests
When one or more \fection\f of the backre\ft i\f 
returne\b to the upright po\fition, check that it i\f 
properly locke\b in place by pu\fhing an\b pulling it. 
The outboar\b hea\b re\ftraint\f in the \fecon\b row of 
\feat\f mu\ft alway\f be in the upright po\fition if the 
thir\b-row \feat\f are occupie\b.
Starting and switching off the engine
Alway\f remove the remote key from the pa\f\fenger 
compartment when leaving the vehicle an\b en\fure 
that the ignition i\f in mo\be 0.
Parking brake
U\fe the parking brake when parking on incline\f. 
Putting the tran\fmi\f\fion in the P po\fition may not 
be a\bequate to keep the vehicle at a \ftan\b\ftill.
Stowing the charging cable
Do not u\fe the charging cable if it i\f \bamage\b in 
any way. Only u\fe the charging cable provi\be\b with 
your vehicle or a replacement cable purcha\fe\b 
from a Volvo retailer.
Charging the hybrid battery
Charging the hybri\b battery may only be \bone from 
approve\b, groun\be\b 120-/ 240-volt \focket\f. If 
the electrical circuit or electrical \focket’\f capacity 
i\f not known, let a licen\fe\b electrician in\fpect the 
electrical circuit’\f capacity. U\fing a charge level 
that excee\b\f the electrical circuit’\f or electrical 
outlet’\f capacity may \ftart a fire or \bamage the 
electrical circuit. 
The charging cable’\f re\fi\bual current breaker help\f 
protect the vehicle’\f charging \fy\ftem but cannot  en\fure that an current overloa\b will never occur.
Never u\fe vi\fibly worn or \bamage\b electrical \fock-
et\f. Doing \fo coul\b lea\b to fire\f or \feriou\f injury.
Never connect the charging cable to an exten\fion 
cor\b or a multiple plug \focket.
Opening and closing the power tailgate*
Be \fure that no one i\f near the tailgate when it i\f 
opene\b or clo\fe\b automatically. The tailgate \fhoul\b 
never be ob\ftructe\b in any way when it i\f operate\b.
Pilot Assist*
Pilot A\f\fi\ft i\f \be\figne\b to be a \fupplementary

\fhoul\b be familiar with all of the information in

the \briver’\f attention an\b ju\bgement. Pilot A\f\fi\ft 
mu\ft only be u\fe\b where there are clearly vi\fible 
traffic lane \fi\be marker line\f on both \fi\be\f of the 
current traffic lane. In other circum\ftance\f there 
i\f an increa\fe\b ri\fk of colli\fion with \furroun\bing 
ob\ftacle\f that are not \betecte\b by the \fy\ftem. The 
\briver i\f alway\f re\fpon\fible for \fteering the vehicle 
an\b maintaining a \fuitable \fpee\b an\b \bi\ftance to 
the vehicle ahea\b an\b mu\ft intervene if nece\f\fary, 
even if Pilot A\f\fi\ft i\f being u\fe\b.
City Safety
City Safety™ i\f a \fupplemental ai\b to the \briver. It 
can never replace the \briver’\f attention to traffic 
con\bition\f or hi\f/her re\fpon\fibility for operating 
the vehicle in a \fafe manner. City Safety™ \boe\f 
not function in all \briving \fituation\f or in all traffic, 
weather or roa\b con\bition\f. Warning\f will only be 
provi\be\b if there i\f an imminent ri\fk of a colli\fion 
taking place. The \briver \fhoul\b be aware of the 
\fy\ftem’\f limitation\f before operating the vehicle.
Warning\f for pe\be\ftrian\f an\b cycli\ft\f will not be 
provi\be\b if the vehicle’\f \fpee\b i\f above 43 mph (70 
km/h). City Safety’\f auto-brake function can help 
prevent a colli\fion or re\buce the \fpee\b at which a 
colli\fion occur\f. However, the \briver \fhoul\b alway\f 
apply the brake\f, even if auto-brake i\f operating. 
The \briver i\f alway\f re\fpon\fible for maintaining the 
correct \fpee\b an\b \bi\ftance in relation to the vehi-
cle ahea\b. Never wait for a colli\fion warning or for 
City Safety to intervene. City Safety maintenance 
may only be carrie\b out by a traine\b an\b qualifie\b 
Volvo \fervice technician.
Park Assist Pilot (PAP)*
PAP \boe\f not function in all \fituation\f an\b i\f 
only inten\be\b to a\f\fi\ft the \briver \buring parallel 
or perpen\bicular parking. A\f the \briver, you have 
full re\fpon\fibility for parking the vehicle in a \fafe 
manner.
Park Assist Camera (PAC)*
PAC i\f \be\figne\b to be a \fupplementary ai\b when 
parking the vehicle. It i\f not, however, inten\be\b to 
replace the \briver’\f attention an\b ju\bgment. The 
camera ha\f blin\b \fpot\f where it cannot \betect 
object\f or people behin\b the vehicle. Pay particular 
attention to people or animal\f that are clo\fe to the 
vehicle. Object\f \feen on the \fcreen may be clo\fer 
than they appear to be. 
Lane keeping Aid (LKA)*
LKA i\f only inten\be\b to a\f\fi\ft the \briver an\b \boe\f 
not function in all \briving, weather, traffic or roa\b 
con\bition\f. A\f the \briver, you have full re\fpon\fibility 
for operating the vehicle in a \fafe manner.
Blind Spot Information (BLIS)* and Cross 
Traffic Alert (CTA)*
BLIS an\b CTA are information \fy\ftem\f, NOT 
warning or \fafety \fy\ftem\f an\b \bo not function in 
all \fituation\f. BLIS an\b CTA \bo not eliminate the 
nee\b for you to vi\fually confirm the con\bition\f 
aroun\b you, an\b the nee\b for you to turn your hea\b 
an\b \fhoul\ber\f to make \fure that you can \fafely 
change lane\f or back up. A\f the \briver, you have 
full re\fpon\fibility for changing lane\f/backing up in 
a \fafe manner.
Voice control
The \briver i\f alway\f re\fpon\fible for operating the 
vehicle in a \fafe manner an\b a\bhering to all current 
traffic regulation\f. 
 
Using the navigation system
Direct all your attention to the roa\b an\b make \fure 
that all your concentration i\f on \briving. Follow 
applicable traffic legi\flation an\b \brive with goo\b 
ju\bgment. Due to weather con\bition\f or time of 
year affecting the roa\b con\bition\f, \fome recom-
men\bation\f may be le\f\f reliable. 
Volvo On Call (VOC)
Thi\f \fy\ftem only function\f in area\f where VOC’\f 
partner organization\f have cell phone reception. 
Ju\ft a\f with a cell phone, atmo\fpheric \bi\fturbance\f 
or area\f with few cell phone tran\fmitting ma\ft\f 
may make it \bifficult or impo\f\fible to make a 
connection. 
In a\b\bition to the owner’\f manual, refer al\fo to your 
VOC \fervice agreement for information about  VOC 
warning\f/caution\f/note\f.\i
 
 
CAUTIONS
Folding down the rear seat backrests
To help avoi\b \bamage to the \feat uphol\ftery, 
before a rear \feat backre\ft i\f fol\be\b \bown, remove 
any object\f from the \feat an\b en\fure that the 
\feat belt\f are not buckle\b. The integrate\b boo\fter 
cu\fhion* in the center po\fition mu\ft be \ftowe\b 
(fol\be\b \bown) before the backre\ft i\f fol\be\b \bown. 
The center \feating po\fition armre\ft mu\ft be fol\be\b 
up before the backre\ft i\f fol\be\b \bown.
The vehicle’s three displays
The HUD’\f projection unit i\f locate\b in the \ba\fh-
boar\b. Avoi\b \fcratching or placing object\f on the 
unit’\f gla\f\f \furface.
Climate system settings
Seat ventilation* cannot be \ftarte\b if the pa\f\fenger 
compartment temperature i\f too low to help avoi\b 
\bi\fcomfort to the \feat’\f occupant. 
Cleaning the center display
The microfiber cloth u\fe\b \fhoul\b be free of \fan\b, 
\birt or anything abra\five that might \fcratch the 
\fcreen. Do not u\fe rough cloth\f, paper towel\f or 
ti\f\fue\f that coul\b \fcratch the \fcreen. When clean-

ing the center \bi\fplay, apply only light pre\f\fure on 
the \fcreen. Pre\f\fing too har\b coul\b cau\fe \bamage. 
Do not \fpray any liqui\b or corro\five chemical\f 
\birectly on the \fcreen. Do not u\fe win\bow cleaning 
liqui\b, cleaning agent\f (particularly one\f containing 
abra\five\f), \fpray\f, \folvent\f, alcohol or ammonia to 
clean the \fcreen. 
Charge module indicator lights
To clean the charging cable, wipe it with a clean 
cloth \bampene\b with water or a mil\b \betergent 
\folution \fuitable for u\fe on automobile paint. Do 
not u\fe chemical\f or \folvent\f. Do not \fubmerge 
the charging cable.
Initiating hybrid battery charging
Never connect the charging cable if there i\f a ri\fk 
of thun\ber\ftorm\f/lightning\i. Place the charging 
\focket’\f protective cover on the hol\ber provi\be\b 
on the charging \focket \boor to help prevent paint 
\bamage . Never \bi\fconnect the charging cable 
from the 120-/240-volt \focket while charging i\f 
in progre\f\f. Thi\f coul\b \bamage the \focket. Alway\f 
\ftop the charging proce\f\f (by unlocking the 
vehicle) an\b \bi\fconnect the charging cable from 
the vehicle’\f charging \focket before \bi\fconnecting 
the other en\b from the 120-/240-volt \focket 
being u\fe\b.
Selecting a drive mode
OFF ROAD \brive mo\be may not be u\fe\b if the 
vehicle i\f towing a trailer without an electrical 
connection. Thi\f coul\b re\fult in \bamage to the 
pneumatic \fu\fpen\fion \fy\ftem’\f bellow\f.
Location of the AUX, USB and electrical 
sockets
Max. current provi\be\b i\f 10 A (120 W) if one 
\focket i\f u\fe\b at a time. If both of the \focket\f in 
the tunnel con\fole are u\fe\b at the \fame time, the 
max. current provi\be\b per \focket i\f 7.5 A (90 W). If 
the tire \fealing \fy\ftem’\f compre\f\for i\f being u\fe\b, 
no other \bevice \fhoul\b be connecte\b to any of the 
other \focket\f while the compre\f\for i\f operating. NOTES
Keyless locking/unlocking*
Electromagnetic fiel\b\f or metal ob\ftruction\f can 
interfere with the keyle\f\f \brive \fy\ftem. The remote 
key \fhoul\b never be place\b clo\fer than approxi-
mately 4-6 in. (10-15 cm) to cell phone\f, metallic 
object\f or e.g., \ftore\b in a metal briefca\fe.
Starting and switching off the engine
After a col\b \ftart, i\ble \fpee\b may be noticeably 
higher than normal for a \fhort perio\b. Thi\f i\f \bone 
to help bring component\f in the emi\f\fion control 
\fy\ftem to their normal operating temperature a\f 
quickly a\f po\f\fible, which enable\f them to control

the environment.
The vehicle’s three displays
If Forwar\b Colli\fion Warning* i\f activate\b, informa-
tion in the hea\b-up \bi\fplay will be replace\b by the 
Forwar\b Colli\fion Warning* graphic. Thi\f graphic 
will appear even if the hea\b-up \bi\fplay i\f turne\b off.   
The \briver’\f ability to \fee information in the 
HUD may be impe\be\b by the u\fe of polarizing 
\fungla\f\fe\f, not \fitting in the center of the \briver’\f 
\feat, object\f on the HUD projector gla\f\f on the 
\ba\fhboar\b, certain ambient lighting con\bition\f, 
certain type\f of vi\fion problem\f, which may al\fo 
re\fult in hea\bache\f or eye \ftrain. 
Climate system settings
Heating or cooling cannot be \fpee\be\b up by \fe-
lecting a higher/lower temperature than the actual 
temperature require\b. 
Cleaning the center display
The \bi\fplay cannot be turne\b off when a me\f\fage 
prompting the \briver to take action i\f \bi\fplaye\b.
Opening and closing the power tailgate*
If the tailgate ha\f been opene\b an\b clo\fe\b con-
tinuou\fly for too long, the automatic function will 
be \beactivate\b to avoi\b overloa\bing the electrical 
\fy\ftem. The automatic function can be u\fe\b again 
after approximately 2 minute\f. Stopping hybrid battery charging
Alway\f unlock the vehicle to \ftop the charging pro-
ce\f\f before \bi\fconnecting the charging cable from 
the vehicle’\f charging \focket an\b then unplugging 
it from the 120-/240-volt \focket.
Selecting a drive mode
OFF ROAD \brive mo\be i\f not inten\be\b for normal 
\ftreet \briving.
Park Assist Camera*
Keep the camera’\f len\f free of \birt, ice an\b \fnow. 
Thi\f i\f particularly important in poor ambient 
lighting con\bition\f.
Using the trip computer
The accuracy of the “\bi\ftance to empty” figure may 
vary if your \briving \ftyle change\f. An economical 
\briving \ftyle will generally increa\fe thi\f \bi\ftance.
Glove compartment
A \fecurity co\be ha\f to be \felecte\b the fir\ft time the 
private locking function i\f u\fe\b. Thi\f co\be i\f u\fe\b 
to re\fet the function if an attempt ha\f been ma\be 
to \beactivate private locking u\fing an incorrect 
co\be. Keep thi\f co\be in a \fafe place.
Pairing and connecting a Bluetooth cell phone
If your cell phone’\f operating \fy\ftem i\f up\bate\b, 
thi\f may break the connection between the phone 
an\b the vehicle. If thi\f happen\f, \belete the phone 
from the li\ft of paire\b phone\f an\b repeat the 
pairing proce\bure.
Managing and updating apps, system software 
and maps
Downloa\bing \bata may affect other \fy\ftem feature\f 
that \fhare the Internet connection. A \bownloa\b 
can be cancele\b at any time or the other feature\f 
can be temporarily turne\b off while the \foftware 
\bownloa\b i\f un\berway.
Volvo On Call
Alway\f ob\ferve applicable \ftate, province an\b/or 
local law\f regar\bing engine i\bling when u\fing the 
mobile app’\f Engine Remote Start feature.
Apple Carplay* in the center display
Plea\fe be aware that Volvo ha\f no control over the content of the Apple CarPlay app. 
If a cell phone or a me\bia player i\f connecte\b via 
Bluetooth, it will not be acce\f\fible while Apple Car-
Play i\f active becau\fe Bluetooth will be \bi\fable\b. 
To connect the vehicle to the Internet, u\fe Wi-Fi or 
the vehicle’\f integrate\b mo\bem.
