cannotbestartedbypushingortowing.
Startingwithjumper
cables
Ifnecessary,theenginecanbestartedbycon-
nectingittothebatteryofanothervehicle.
Iftheengineshouldfailtostartbecauseofadis-
chargedorweakbattery,thebatterycanbecon-
nectedtothebatteryofanothervehicle,usinga
pairofjumpercablestostarttheengine.
Jumpercables
Useonlyjumpercablesofsufficientlylargecross
sectiontocarrythestartercurrentsafely.Refer
tothemanufacturer'sspecifications.
Useonlyjumpercableswithinsulatedterminal
clampswhicharedistinctlymarked:
plus(+)cableinmostcasescoloredred
minus(-)cableinmostcasescoloredblack.
creasestheriskofanexplosionandchemi-
calburns.Afterjumpstartingthevehicle,
drivetoanauthorizedAudidealerorauthor-
izedAudiServiceFacilityimmediatelyto

— Thevoltageoftheboosterbatterymustalso
havea12-Voltrating.Thecapacity(Ah)of
the boosterbatteryshouldnotbelower
thanthatofthedischargedbattery.Useof
batteriesofdifferentvoltageorsubstantial-
lydifferent“Ah”ratingmaycause anexplo-
sionandpersonalinjury.
—Neverchargeafrozenbattery.Gastrapped
intheicemaycause anexplosion.
—Neverchargeoruseabatterythathasbeen
frozen.Thebatterycasemayhave beweak-
ened.
—Useofbatteriesofdifferentvoltageorsub-
stantiallydifferentcapacity(Ah)ratingmay
causeanexplosionandinjury.Thecapacity
(Ah)oftheboosterbatteryshouldnot be
lowerthanthatofthedischargedbattery.
