Multifunction button
Applies to vehicles: with memory function
You con adjust the massage function, upper
section of the backrest, lumbar support, side bolsters, seating surface and safety belt
height using the multifunction button.

A WARNING
-
- Never adjust the driver's or front pas­
senger's seat whi le the vehicle is moving.
If you do this while the veh icle is moving,
you will be out of position. A lways adjust
the dr iver's or front passenger's seat
when the vehicle is not mov ing .
- Be careful when adjusting the seat
he ight. Check to see that no one is in the
way, or ser ious injury cou ld result!
- Because the seats can be e lectrically ad­
justed with the ignition off, never leave
children unattended in the veh icle. Unsu­
pe rvised use of the electric seat adjust­
ments may cause serious injury.
- To reduce the risk of injury in the case of
sudden braking or accident, front pas­
sengers mus t never r ide in a moving ve­
hicle with the backrest reclined. Safety
be lts and the airbag system on ly offer
maximum protection when the backrest
is upright and the safety belts are prop­
erly positioned on the body. The more
the backrest is reclined, the greater the risk of personal injury from an incorrect
seating position and improperly posi­
tioned safety belts.
(D Tips
- The massage function switches off auto­
matically after approximately 10 mi­
nutes .
- In vehicles w ith the reclining rear seat,
only the safety belt he ight and the seat­
ing surface can be adjusted on the front
passenger sea t using the multifunc tion
button.

armrest.

~ To move the armrest forward and up, press
the button -arrow- wh ile pulling the armrest
into the desired position .
~ To b ring the armrest back in to its original
pos ition, press the b utton -arrow- wh ile
pressing the armrest down.
Please note that the driver's arm movements
may be restr icted w it h the armrest fo lded
down. Fo r th is reason, the a rm rest should not
be folded down when driving in c ity traffic .
Rear seats
General information
Safe transportation of passengers on the rear
seats requires proper safety precautions.
All passengers on the rear seats must be seat­
ed in compliance with the safety guidelines
explained in
c::>page 144and c::> page 152.
The correct seating position is critical for the
safety of front
and rear seat passengers alike
c::> page 137.
A WARNING
- Occupants in the front
and rear seats
must always be p roperly rest rained.
-
- Do not let anyone ride in the ve hicle
without the head rest raints prov ided .
H ead restraints help to reduce injuries.
- Loose items inside the passenger com­
partment can fly forward in a crash or
sudden maneuver and injure occupants.
Always store articles i n the luggage com­
partment and use the tie-down eyelets.
- Read and heed all WARNINGS

A WARNING
- The power adjustment for the individual
seats also works with the ignition . For
this reason, children should never be left
unattended in the vehicle -they could be
injured!
- Exercise caution when adjusting the
seats. Unsupervised or careless seat ad­
justment can pinch fingers or hands
causing injuries.
- Vehicles with a pass through in the cen­
ter console have seat ing for four. The

rear seats is not a seating position.
Therefore, a safety belt is not provided .

(D Note
If a child seat is attached to one of the rear
seats, this seat must not be adjusted using
the power controls under any circumstan­
ces . The easy entry funct ion for this seat
must also be deactivated in the MMI
r:=> page 63. The child seat as well as the
rear seat can be damaged by the adjust­
ment process.
@ Tips
The massage function switches off auto­ matically after approximately 10 minutes .
- If you cannot move the front passenger
seat , it may be because
- the front passenger's seat memory
function is switched off

Ad justing the d isplay
@ -Tilting the display forward/back: press
and hold the left/ right button @ until the d is­
play reaches the desired position.
You can fold the disp lay forward so that you
have a clear view of the roadway. With the
seat in the recl ining posit ion , press and hold
the right b utton @ unti l the d isplay is folded
f orward . Make sure the driver has a clear view
of the exterior mirrors. If so , confirm the
question in the MMI with Yes. If you answer
No or do not respond to the question, the dis­
play will return to the upright pos ition.
Ad justing the front p assenger 's seat
(j) -Make sure that the front passenger 's seat
adjustment is switched on in the Infotain­
ment system

A WARNING ~
Do not use the front passenger's seat for
seating when it is in the reclin ing pos ition .
This increases the risk of serious injury or
death.
- Never adjust the recl ining position when
the front passenger's seat is occupied.
This inc reases the risk of injury.
- Do not t ilt the disp lay if the driver's view
of the right exter ior mirror will be ob­
structed .
- Make sure the area between the leg sup­
port a nd the front passenger 's seat back­
rest is clear befo re fo ld ing the leg sup-
port i n so that yo u are not pinched .

If you cannot move the seat into the re­
clining position, it may be because
- the front passenger's seat memory func­
tion is switched off¢

- the child safety lock is switched on (the

Massage function remote control

tion is switched on.

Comfort setting s
Applies to vehicles: wit h co mfort seats in the rear
You can adjust settings for the rear seat from
the cockpit using the MMI.
.,. Select I CAR I function button > Car systems
control button > Vehicle settings > Seats >
Rear seats.
Factory settings position -
This function
moves the outer rear seats and the front pas­
senger seatback into the factory settings posi­
tion.
Entry as sistance -Entry assistance makes it
easier to enter and exit the rea r seat more
comfortab ly. When the function is activated,
the rear seat moves all the way back automat­
ically when the corresponding door opens .
Front passenger seat adjustment * -If the
function is activated in the MMI, the front
passenger seat can be adjusted from the rear
seat ¢

Head restraints
Adjusting the head restraints
Head restraints that are adjusted according
to body size, along with the safety belt, offer
effective protection .

Ad just the head restraint so the upper edge is
as even as possible with the top of your head.
If that is not possible, try to adjust the head
restra int so that it is as close to this posit ion
as possible ¢

both hands and slide it upward until you feel

A WARNING

-All seats are equipped with head re­
straints. Driving without head restraints
or w ith head restra ints that are not prop­
erly adjusted increases the risk of serious
or fatal neck i nju ry dramatically.
- Read and heed all WARNINGS

- Vehicles w ith a pass through in the cen­
ter console have seating for four. The long cen ter console between the two
rear seats is
not a seat ing posi tion.
Therefore, a sa fe ty belt is not provided .
((0 Tips
- To prevent the head rest raints from run­
ning into the headliner, t hey re tract au­
toma tically when moving the seat for­
wa rd or upward .
- Correctly adj usted head restra in ts and
safety belts are an extremely effective
combination of safety features .

Seat memory
Description
Applies to vehicles: with memory function
The memo ry function a llows you to quick ly
and eas ily s to re and re ca ll persona l seating
p rofi les for the driver, fron t passenger an d
ou ter rea r seats* . The memory f unction is op ­
erated throug h the master key and the memo­
ry buttons in the driver 's/front passenger's
doors and the rear doors*.
The drive r's seating profi le is stored and as ­
signed to t he master key each t ime the vehicle
i s locked. The seating p rofile is recalled auto­
mat ica lly when the veh icle is unlocked. If two

To assign the d river 's seat settings to the re ­
mote contro l key when locking the vehicle, the
function must be switc hed on.

Driver seat > Remote control key > On.

If you do n ot want another driver's set­
tings to be assigned to the remote control
key, switch off the memory f unction using
the MMI o r the

Storing seating p rofiles
.. To s tore a seating profi le, press the ISETI
button and then one of the memory but­
tons .
.. To recall a seating profile, press and hold
the memory button until the seat is adjust­
ed to the stored settings .
.. To sw itch the memory function for the driv­
er or front passenger off, press the
I OFF I
button. The word OFF lights up when the
memo ry fu nction is sw itched off. Seating
profiles will not be stored .
Adjusting the re cl ining po sition /standard
position
.. To adj ust the recl ining pos it ion, press and
hold the@ button until the seat moves into
the end position .
.. To ad just the standard pos ition, press and
hold the @ button until the seat moves into
the end position.
A WARNING
- For safety reasons, the seat setting
should only be recalled when the veh icle
is stationary· otherw ise you risk hav ing
an accident .
- If necessary, you stop the process by
press ing the
IOF Fj button or any of the
memory buttons.
Adjusting the front passenger seat in
the MMI

The driver can adjust the position of the front
passenger seat.

When matching seat settings, the settings

115-volt socket
Applies to vehicles: with 115-volt socket
The 115-vo lt socket can on ly be used when
the engine is running
c::> .&. . When you push
the connector all the way into the socket, the
child safety mechanism releases and current
flows through the socket.
Equipment that can be connected
Electrical devices can be connected to the 115
volt socket in the vehicle. Power consumption
at the 115-volt socket must not exceed 150
watts (300 watts peak) . Check the power con­
sumpt ion of the equipment on the model
plate .

LED on the socket
-The socket is ready for use when the LED is
green.
- If the LED blinks red, there is a malfunction.
The socket wi ll switch off automatically due
to overcurrent o r overheating . The socket
will switch on again automatica lly after a
cool-down period . Any devices that are con­
nected and switched on will activate again
automatically

A WARNING
-- The sockets and the-electrical accessories
connected to them operate only when
the ignition is switched on. Incorrect us­
age can lead to ser ious injuries or burns.
To reduce the risk of injuries, never leave
children unattended in the veh icle with
the vehicle key.
- Heavy equipment or plugs with integrat­
ed power supply units can damage the
socket and lead to injuries.
- Store all connected equipment securely
while the vehicle is moving so that they
cannot be thrown through the vehicle in
the event of a braking maneuver or an
accident.
- Never spill any liquids on the socket . If
any moisture gets into the socket, make
certain that all the moisture has dried up before using the socket again .
- Equipment that is connected to the vehi·
cle socket can heat up more than it does
when connected to the public gr id.
- When using adapters and extension
cords, the child safety for the 115-volt
socket is disabled and the socket is live .
- Never insert anything other than the
plug of an appropriate electrical accesso­
ry into the socket, especially things that
conduct e lectricity, e.g. meta l pens, knit­
ting need les, etc. into the contacts of the
115-volt socket.
- Turn the electrical equ ipment off if the
socket has switched off because of over­
heating.

-Always follow the manufacturer's in­
str uctions for all electrical accessories
you want to use with the electrical sock­
et!
- Do not connect lamps that contain a ne­
on tube. For technical reasons the lamp
may be damaged.
- Do not connect any 230-volt equipment
to the 115-volt socket. The equipment
may be damaged. If necessary, check the
permissible voltage for the equipment
on the model label.
- In the case of some power packs, e.g . for
a laptop computer, the built-in overcur­
rent shutoff prevents it from being
switched on because of excessive start­
up current. In this case, disconnect the
power pack from the consumer and re­
connect it after about 10 seconds.
@ Tips
- Unshielded equipment may cause inter­
ference in the radio and the vehicle elec­
tronics.
- Some equipment may work properly be­
cause of the reduced power (wattage),
available from the socket.
Folding table in the center console
Applies to vehicles: with folding table in the center con·
sole
The folding table is stored in the front area of
the center console .

Storing
.. Release the tabl etop @ to fold it back.
.. You can now move the folding table verti­
cally back into its original position.
A WARNING

- Do not open the folding tab le while driv-
ing. Opening the folding table while driv­
ing increases the risk of injury in the
event of a collision or sudden braking .
- To reduce the risk of pinching, open and
close the folding table carefully and in a
controlled manner.
