TheElectronicStabilizationControl(ESC)func-
tionsareenhancedfordrivingoffroad.Offroad
modecanbeactivated whendrivinginsituations

slippageoradifferentiallockfunctionis

alsoavailable,whichautomaticallybrakestheve-
hicletomaintainaconstantspeed>page146.
Inaddition,yourAudiprovidescontinuousall
wheeldrive.
However,yourAudiisnotapurelyoffroadvehi-
cle.Yourvehiclewasnotdesignedtodriveunder
extremeoperatingconditionssuchasdrivingin
anexpeditionstyle.
Onlydriveinterrainthatissuitableforthevehi-
cleandyourdrivingability.Nevertakeanyun-
necessaryrisks!
Beforedrivingoffroad
—Checktheengineoillevel,thetirepressure,the
coolantlevelandthefluidlevelinthewasher
fluidreservoir.
—Storepiecesofluggageandotherobjectsinthe
luggagecompartmentandsecurethemfrom
slidingoutofplace.
Afterdrivingoffroad
—Afterdrivingoffroad,removebranchesandoth-
erdebrisfromtheradiatorgrille,underbody,
andwheels.Lookespeciallyforforeignobjects
(suchasstones)thatmaybestuckinthetire
tread.
—Cleanthevehiclebodyandunderbodyandin-
spectthevehicleforpossibledamage.
—Cleanthewindows,headlights,taillightsand
thelicenseplateiftheyaredirty.
—Performabraketest(especiallyafterdriving
throughwater).
