thenormalwidth.Insomesituations,thedisplay
intheexteriormirrormayturnoneventhough
thereisnovehiclelocatedintheareathatiscriti-
calforalanechange.Forexample:

theedgeofyourlane.Ifthisisthecase,the
systemmayhavedetectedavehicleinanother
lanethatisnotadjacenttoyourcurrentlane.

—Whetherornot thedriverandpassengersafety
beltswerebuckled/fastened;
—Howfar(ifatall)thedriverwasdepressingthe
acceleratorand/orbrakepedal;and,
—Howfastthevehiclewastraveling.
Thesedatacanhelpprovideabetterunderstand-
ingofthecircumstancesinwhichcrashesandin-
juriesoccur.NOTE:EDRdataarerecordedbyyour
