preference.Tohavetheblowerregulatedauto-

Youcanturnthecoolingsystemonoroffby
pressingtheA/Cbutton.Theairisnotcooledand
humidityisnotremovedwhencoolingmodeis

switchedoff.Thiscan causefogonthewindows.
Coolingmodeswitchesoffautomaticallywhen
theoutsidetemperatureisbelowzero.

transmission,tires,brakes,andsuspension.This
canresultinincreasedwear.Alsonotethefol-
lowingpoints:
—Makesurethevehicleisingoodcondition.
Makesuretocheckthebrakepads,tiretread,
andtirepressure(whentiresarewarm).
—Beforehand,warmuptheenginebydrivingno
higherthantwo-thirdsofthemaximumpermit-
tedengineRPM.Theengineoiltemperature
mustbebroughttoaminimumof140°F
(60°C).

Automatictransmission
Yourvehicleisequippedwithanelectronically-
controlledDSGtransmissioncalledStronic.Two
independentclutchestransferthepowerbe-
tweentheengineandtransmission.Itallows the
vehicletoacceleratewithoutanoticeableinter-
ruptionintraction.
Thetransmissionupshiftsordownshiftsauto-
matically.Thedrivingstylecontinuouslyinfluen-
cestheselectionofthedrivingprogram.
Whenamoderatedrivingstyleisused,the
transmissionselectsthemosteconomicaldriving
mode.ThetransmissionupshiftsatalowerRPM
anddownshiftsatahigherRPMtoimprovefuel
efficiency.
Thetransmission switchestoasportymodeafter
akick-downorwhenthedriverusesasportydriv-
ingstylecharacterizedbyquickacceleratorpedal
movements,heavyacceleration,frequent
changesinspeed,andtravelingatthemaximum
speed.
