closetotheairbaggetsinthewayofaninflating
airbag.Whenanoccupantistooclose,heorshe
willbestruckviolentlyandwillreceiveserious or
possibly
evenfatalinjury.
Inorderfortheairbagtoofferprotection,itis
importantthatallvehicleoccupants,especially
anychildren,whomustbeinthefrontseatbe-
causeofexceptionalcircumstances,beproperly
restrainedandasfarawayfromtheairbagas
possible.Bykeepingroombetweenthechild's
bodyandthefrontofthepassengercompart-
ment,theairbagcaninflatecompletelyandpro-
videsupplementalprotectionincertainfrontal
collisions.

retractortoproperlysecurechildsafetyseats.
Thesafetybeltsemergencylockingretractorsfor
therearseats safetybeltsandforthefrontpas-
senger’sseatsafetybelthaveaconvertiblelock-
ingretractorforchildrestraints.Thesafetybelt
mustbelockedsothatbeltwebbingcannotun-
reel.Theretractorcan beactivatedto lockthe
safetybeltandpreventthesafetybeltwebbing
fromlooseningupduring normaldriving.Achild
safetyseatcanonlybeproperlyinstalledwhen
thesafetybeltislockedso thatthechildand
childsafetyseatwillstayinplace.
Alwaysremember:Eventhoughyourvehicleis
equippedwithanAdvancedAirbagsystem,all
children,especiallythose12yearsandyounger,
shouldalwaysrideinthebackseatproperlyre-
strainedfortheirageandsize.
