notovercomethelawsofphysics.Incorners
andwhenroadorweatherconditionsare
bad,afullbrakeapplicationcancausethe
vehicletoskidortherearendtoswerve,
whichincreasestheriskofanaccident.
—Ifthepowersupplyfails,youcannotsetthe
parkingbrakeonceitisreleased.Inthis
case,parkthevehicleonlevelgroundand
secureitbyplacingtheselectorleverinthe
Pposition.SeeanauthorizedAudidealeror
authorizedAudiServiceFacilityforassis-
tance.
—Ifyouleavethevehicle,switchtheignition
offandtakethevehiclekeywithyou.This
appliesparticularlywhenchildrenremainin
thevehicle.Otherwisechildrencouldstart
theengine,releasetheparkingbrakeorop-
erateelectricalequipmentsuchaspower
windows,whichincreasestheriskofanacci-
dent.
—Nooneshouldremaininthevehiclewhenit
islocked-especiallychildren.Lockeddoors
makeitmoredifficultforemergencywork-
erstogetintothevehicle,whichputslives
atrisk.

torleverisinthe"D" or"S"positionandyou
pressthebrakepedal.Thetransmissionautomat-
icallyselectsagearthatissuitableforthehill.
Hilldescentcontroltriestomaintainthespeed
thatwasselectedatthetimeofbraking,within
physicalandtechnicallimitations.Ifmaystillbe
necessarytoadjustthespeedwiththebrakes.
Becausehilldescentcontrolcannotshiftdown

Thespeedwarningsystemhelpsyoutostaybe-
low aspecifiedmaximumspeedthatcanbeset,
changedordeletedintheInfotainmentsystem.
Thespeedwarningsystemwarnsyouifyouare
exceeding themaximumspeedthatyouhaveset.
Awarningtonewillsoundassoonasyourspeed
exceedsthestoredvalueslightly.Theoe)in-
dicatorlightandamessagewillappearinthein-
strumentclusterdisplayatthesametime.The
oweindicatorlightandthemessageturnoffif
thespeedfallsbackbelowthestoredmaximum
speed.
Settingathresholdisrecommendedifyouwould
liketoberemindedwhenyoureachacertain
maximumspeed.Situationswhereyoumaywant
todosoincludedrivinginacountrywithagener-
alspeedlimitorifthereisaspecifiedmaximum
speedforwintertires.
