Cooling
System

Whenever
the
engine
is
running,
acoolant
pump
circulates

coolant
through
the
engine

heater
control
valves

the
heater
core
in
the
passenger
compart-

ment

The
coolant
absorbs
excess
heat
and
carries
it
to
the
ra-

diator
where
it
is
transferred
into
the
passing
airstream

thermostat
controls
the
flow

coolant
through
the
radiator

on
engine
temperature
.

Lubrication
System

The
lubrication
system
is
pressurized
whenever
theengine

is
running
.
The
oil
pump
draws
oil
through
a
pickup

bot-

tom
of
the
oil

it
through

replaceable
oil
filter

the
engine

oil
