Headlight setting RHD/
LHD traffic
If the motorcycle is ridden in a
country where the opposite rule
of the road applies, its asym-
metric low-beam headlight will
tend to dazzle oncoming traffic.
Consult a specialist workshop,
preferably an authorised
BMW motorcycle dealer, to
have the headlight adjusted to
suit whichever rule of the road
applies.
e Attention:
Adhesive films with unsuitable
adhesives can damage the
headlight lens.

Adjusting headlight beam
throw
Have the headlight basic set-
ting adjusted by a specialist
workshop, preferably an
authorised BMW motorcycle
dealer.
e Attention:
Use adjusting screw 1 only for
lateral adjustment of the head-
light’s beam throw.
L Note:
Adjust beam height so that
oncoming traffic is not dazzled.
Make sure that the throw of the
light cone adequately illumi-
nates the road ahead of you.
Only if the load carried on the
motorcycle is very high, the
headlight beam can be lowered
by turning adjusting screw 2.
This shortens the beam throw.
