Press and hold7for three seconds
to sound the panic alarm.
Press
7again or start the vehicle to
cancel the panic alarm.
X: Press twice quickly to release
the trunk.
Press the key release button near
the bottom of the transmitter to
remove the key. The key can be
used for the driver door and the
glove box.

Remote Vehicle Start
The engine can be started from
outside of the vehicle.
Starting the Vehicle
1. Press and releaseQon the
RKE transmitter.
2. Immediately press and hold
/
for at least four seconds or until
the turn signal lamps flash.
3. Start the vehicle normally after entering. When the vehicle starts, the parking
lamps will turn on.
Remote start can be extended.
Canceling a Remote Start
To cancel a remote start, do one of
the following:
.
Press and hold
/until the
parking lamps turn off.
. Turn on the hazard warning
flashers.
. Turn the vehicle on and then off.

Door Locks
To lock or unlock a door manually:
.
From the outside, if the vehicle
is equipped with Keyless
Access, press the button on the
door handle when the Remote
Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter
is within range. See Remote
Keyless Entry (RKE) System
Operation 029. .
Use the key in the front driver
door, or if equipped, in the
passenger door key cylinder.
The key cylinder is covered by a
cap. See Door Locks 035.
. From the inside, to lock a rear
door, if equipped, push down on
the door lock knob on top of the
door. To unlock a door, pull once
on the door handle to unlock it,
and again to open it.

From the outside, pressQorKon
the RKE transmitter. See Remote

Q(Lock) :Press to lock all doors.
The turn signal indicators may flash
and/or the horn may sound to
indicate locking. See Vehicle
Personalization 0142.
If the driver door is open when
Qis
pressed, all doors lock and then the
driver door will immediately unlock,
if enabled through vehicle
personalization. See Vehicle
Personalization 0142. If the
passenger door is open when
Qis
pressed, all doors lock.
Pressing
Qmay also arm the alarm
system. See Vehicle Alarm
System 041.
If equipped with auto mirror folding,
pressing and holding
Qfor
one second will fold the mirrors. The
auto mirror folding feature will not
operate unless it is enabled. See
Vehicle Personalization 0142.
If equipped, when the doors are
locked, the fuel door is also locked.
K(Unlock) : Press to unlock the
driver door or all doors. When
remotely unlocking the vehicle at night, the headlamps and back-up
lamps will come on for about
30 seconds to light your approach to
the vehicle. The turn signal
indicators may flash to indicate
unlocking.

Pressing
Kwill disarm the alarm
system. See Vehicle Alarm
System 041.
If equipped with auto mirror folding,
pressing and holding
Kfor
one second will unfold the mirrors.
The auto mirror folding feature will
not operate unless it is enabled.
See Vehicle Personalization 0142.
If equipped, when the doors are
unlocked, the fuel door is also
unlocked.
/(Remote Start) : For vehicles
with this feature, press and release
Qand then immediately press and
hold
/for at least four seconds to
start the engine from outside the
vehicle using the RKE transmitter.
See Remote Vehicle Start 034.
7(Vehicle Locator/Panic
Alarm) : Press and release one
time to initiate vehicle locator. The
exterior lamps flash and the horn
chirps three times. Press and hold
7for three seconds to sound the
panic alarm. The horn sounds and
the turn signal lamps flash for
30 seconds, or until
7is pressed
again or the vehicle is started.
X(Remote Trunk Release) :
Press twice quickly to release the
trunk.
Keyless Access Operation
Some vehicles have the Keyless
Access system that lets you lock
and unlock the doors and access
the trunk without removing the RKE
transmitter from your pocket, purse,
briefcase, etc. The RKE transmitter
must be within 1 m (3 ft) of the door
being opened. If the vehicle has this
feature, there will be a button on the
outside door handles.

Doors
Trunk
{Warning
Exhaust gases can enter the
vehicle if it is driven with the
liftgate or trunk/hatch open,
or with any objects that pass
through the seal between the
body and the trunk/hatch or
liftgate. Engine exhaust contains
carbon monoxide (CO) which
cannot be seen or smelled. It can
cause unconsciousness and even
death.
If the vehicle must be driven with
the liftgate or trunk/hatch open:. Close all of the windows.
. Fully open the air outlets on
or under the instrument
panel.
. Adjust the climate control
system to a setting that
brings in only outside air

and set the fan speed to the
highest setting. See
“Climate Control Systems”
in the Index.
. If the vehicle is equipped
with a power liftgate, disable
the power liftgate function.
See Engine Exhaust 0197.
Trunk Lock Release
To open the trunk, the vehicle must
be off or the shift lever must be in
P (Park). .
Press
|on the driver door.
. Press
Xtwice quickly on the
RKE transmitter.
. Press the touch pad on the rear
of the trunk above the license
plate when all doors are
unlocked.
If equipped with Keyless Access,
the trunk may also be opened while
the vehicle is locked by pressing the
touch pad on the rear of the trunk
above the license plate while the
RKE transmitter is within 1 m (3 ft)
of the rear of the vehicle.

If the vehicle is ever without power,
the trunk area can still be accessed.
To access by the rear seat
pass-through door, if equipped:1. Fold the rear armrest down and open the pass-through door.

2. Reach inward through the opening to locate the
emergency trunk release
handle. See “Emergency Trunk
Release Handle” following.
3. Pull the release handle toward the front of the vehicle to open
the trunk.
To access by the folding the rear
seat, if equipped: 1. Fold down the rear seatback. See Rear Seats 061 orRear
Seats 062.
2. Reach inward through the opening to locate the
emergency trunk release
handle. 3. Pull the release handle toward
the front of the vehicle to open
the trunk.
Emergency Trunk Release
Handle
Caution
Do not use the emergency trunk
release handle as a tie-down or
anchor point when securing items
in the trunk as it could damage
the handle. If equipped, there is a
glow-in-the-dark emergency trunk
release handle on the trunk lid. This
handle will glow following exposure
to light. Pull the release handle to
open the trunk from the inside.
After use, return to the stored
position.

Removal and Installation of the
Sealant Canister
To remove the sealant canister:1. Unwrap the sealant/air hose to access the canister release
button.
2. Press the canister release button (9).
3. Pull up and remove the canister.
4. Replace with a new canister which is available from your
dealer.
5. Push the new canister into place.
6. Rewrap the sealant/air hose.
Storing the Tire Sealant
and Compressor Kit
To access the tire sealant and
compressor kit: 1. Open the trunk. See Trunk 039.
2. Lift the cover.
3. Remove the strap.
4. Remove the tire sealant and compressor kit.
To store the tire sealant and
compressor kit, reverse the steps.
Jump Starting
For more information about the
vehicle battery, see Battery0268.
For the LF4 only, there is an
optional low mass battery that can
be used for Track events. If the
vehicle has the low mass battery
installed and the battery has a low
State of Charge (SOC), the vehicle
can be jump started the say way as
if the regular battery was in the
vehicle using the following
procedure. For more information on
the low mass battery, see Battery
0 268 andTrack Events and
Competitive Driving 0179.
If the battery has run down, try to
use another vehicle and some
jumper cables to start your vehicle.
Be sure to use the following steps to
do it safely.
