Ashtray(s) and Cigarette Lighter
The front ashtray and cigarette lighter are located
in the center console near the cupholders, if
the vehicle has them. Press on the access door to
open it and use the ashtray and lighter.
Notice:If you put papers, pins, or other
ammable items in the ashtray, hot cigarettes
or other smoking materials could ignite
them and possibly damage your vehicle. Never
put ammable items in the ashtray.
To remove the ashtray, pull it from the center
console. Slide it back in and push down to be sure
it is secure.
To use the cigarette lighter, push it in all the way,
and let go. When it is ready, it will pop back
out by itself.
Notice:Holding a cigarette lighter in while it
is heating will not allow the lighter to back
away from the heating element when it is hot.
Damage from overheating may occur to the
lighter or heating element, or a fuse could be
blown. Do not hold a cigarette lighter in
while it is heating.
Analog Clock
The analog clock is located on the instrument
panel above the radio. The clock is not connected
with any other vehicle system and runs by
itself. To adjust the clock, do the following:
1. Locate the adjustment button directly below
the clock face.
2. Push and hold the adjustment button to
advance the clock hands. Holding the
button down will cause the clock to advance
faster. Release the buttonbeforeyou get
to the desired time.
3. Push and release the button to increase the
time by one minute increments until the
desired time is reached.

Your vehicle has a rear seat that will accommodate
a rear-facing child restraint. A label on your sun
visor says, “Never put a rear-facing child seat
in the front.” This is because the risk to the
rear-facing child is so great, if the airbag deploys.
{CAUTION:
Even though the passenger sensing
system is designed to turn off the
passenger’s frontal airbag if the system
detects a rear-facing child restraint, no
system is failsafe, and no one can
guarantee that an airbag will not deploy
under some unusual circumstance, even
though it is turned off. We recommend
that rear-facing child restraints be secured
in the rear seat, even if the airbag is off.If the word OFF or the off symbol is lit on the airbag
status indicator, it means that the passenger
sensing system has turned off the right front
passenger’s frontal airbag. SeePassenger Sensing
System on page 101for more on this, including
important safety information.
If, after several seconds, all status indicator lights
remain on, or if there are no lights at all, there
may be a problem with the lights or the passenger
sensing system. See your dealer for service.
{CAUTION:
If the off indicator and the airbag
readiness light ever come on together, it
means that something may be wrong with
the airbag system. If this ever happens,
have the vehicle serviced promptly,
because an adult-size person sitting in the
right front passenger seat may not have
the protection of the frontal airbag. See
Airbag Readiness Light on page 232.
