Q:Press to lock all doors. The turn
signal indicators may flash and/or the
horn may sound on the second press
to indicate locking. See Vehicle
Personalization 0120.
If the driver door is open when
Qis
pressed, all doors will lock and the
driver door will immediately unlock,
if Open Door Anti-Lockout is enabled.
See Vehicle Personalization 0120.
If the passenger door is open when
Q
is pressed, all doors lock. Pressing
Qmay also arm the alarm
system. See Vehicle Alarm System 025.
K:Press to unlock the driver door.
Press
Kagain within five seconds to
unlock all doors. The RKE transmitter
can be programmed to unlock all
doors on the first button press. See
Vehicle Personalization 0120.
The turn signal indicators may flash
to indicate unlocking. See Vehicle
Personalization 0120. When remotely
unlocking the vehicle at night, the
lights come on briefly to light your
approach to the vehicle.
Pressing
Kwill disarm the alarm
system. See Vehicle Alarm System 025.
Press and hold
Kuntil the windows
fully open. Windows will not operate
unless remote window operation is
enabled. See Vehicle Personalization
0 120.
/:Press and releaseQand then
immediately press and hold
/for at
least four seconds to start the engine
from outside the vehicle using the
RKE transmitter. See Remote Vehicle
Start 014.
7:Press and release one time to
initiate vehicle locator. The exterior
lamps flash and the horn chirps three
times. Press and hold
7for
three seconds to sound the panic
alarm. The horn sounds and the turn
signal lamps flash for 30 seconds,
or until
7is pressed again or the
vehicle is started.
b: Press twice quickly to open or
close the liftgate.
Press once to stop the liftgate from
moving.
Keyless Access Operation
With the Keyless Access system, you
can lock and unlock the doors and
access the liftgate without removing
the RKE transmitter from your pocket,
purse, briefcase, etc. The RKE
transmitter should be within 1 m (3 ft)
of the liftgate or door being opened.
Keyless Access can be programmed to
unlock all doors on the first lock/
unlock press from the driver door.
Keyless access can also be turned off.
See Vehicle Personalization 0120.

The DIC display should now show
READY FOR REMOTE # 1.
5. Place the new transmitter into thefront cupholder.
6. Press ENGINE START/STOP. When the transmitter is learned the DIC
display will show that it is ready to
program the next transmitter.
7. Remove the transmitter from the front cupholder. and press the
transmitter
KorQbutton.
To program additional transmitters,
repeat Steps 4–6. When all additional transmitters
are programmed, press and hold
ENGINE START/STOP for
12 seconds to exit
programming mode.
8. Return the key back into the transmitter.
9. Replace the key lock cylinder cap. See Door Locks 015.
Starting the Vehicle with a Low
Transmitter Battery
When starting the vehicle, if the RKE
transmitter battery is depleted, there
is signal interference, or the RKE
transmitter has been idle for a while,
the DIC may display NO REMOTE
DETECTED or NO REMOTE KEY WAS
DETECTED PLACE KEY IN
TRANSMITTER POCKET THEN
START YOUR VEHICLE. The DIC may
also display REPLACE BATTERY IN
REMOTE KEY.
For improved vehicle security, the
RKE transmitter is equipped with a
motion sensor. First, move the RKE
transmitter slightly and try starting
the vehicle. If the vehicle still does not start and the DIC displays the same
warnings above, follow the steps
shown below.
To start the vehicle:
1. Place the transmitter in the front
cupholder.
2. With the vehicle in P (Park) or N (Neutral), press the brake pedal
and ENGINE START/STOP.
Replace the transmitter battery as
soon as possible.

3. Remove the old battery. Do not usea metal object.
4. Insert the new battery on the back housing, positive side facing down.
Replace with a CR2032 or
equivalent battery.
5. Align the front and back housing then snap the transmitter together.
6. Reinsert the key.
Remote Vehicle Start
This feature allows the engine to be
started from outside of the vehicle.
/: This button is on the RKE
transmitter for remote start. The climate control system will
determine the best mode and
temperature setting for operation
during the remote start. Once the
vehicle is started with the ENGINE
START/STOP button, the climate
control system will begin to operate at
the last customer selected operating
mode and temperature. The rear defog
may come on during remote start
based on cold ambient conditions. The
rear fog indicator light does not come
on during remote start.
If the vehicle has auto heated or
ventilated seats they may come on
during a remote start. See
Heated and
Ventilated Front Seats 043.
Laws in some local communities may
restrict the use of remote starters. For
example, some laws may require a
person using remote start to have the
vehicle in view. Check local
regulations for any requirements.
Do not use remote start if the vehicle
is low on fuel. The vehicle may run
out of fuel. Other conditions can affect the
performance of the transmitter. See
Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) System

Starting the Engine Using Remote
Start
1. Press and release
Qon the RKE
transmitter.
2. Immediately press and hold
/for
at least four seconds or until the
turn signal lamps flash. The turn
signal lamps flashing confirms the
request to remote start the vehicle
has been received.
During the remote start the doors
will be locked and the parking
lamps will remain on as long as the
engine is running.
The engine will shut off after
15 minutes unless a time extension
is done or the ignition is turned on.
3. With the RKE transmitter in the vehicle, press the brake pedal and
start the vehicle to drive.

Power Door Locks
Q:Press to lock the doors. The
indicator light in the switch will
illuminate when locked.
K: Press to unlock the doors.
Delayed Locking
This feature delays the locking of the
doors until five seconds after all doors
are closed.
Delayed locking can only be turned on
when Open Door Anti-Lockout has
been turned off. When
Qis pressed on the power door
lock switch while the door is open, a
chime will sound three times
indicating delayed locking is active.
The doors will lock automatically
five seconds after all doors are closed.
If a door is reopened before that time,
the five-second timer will reset when
all doors are closed again.
Press
Qon the door lock switch again
or press
Qon the RKE transmitter to
lock the doors immediately.
This feature can also be programmed.
See Vehicle Personalization 0120.
Automatic Door Locks
The doors will lock automatically
when all doors are closed, the ignition
is on, and the vehicle is shifted out of
P (Park).
If a vehicle door is unlocked and then
opened and closed, the doors will lock
either when your foot is removed from
the brake or the vehicle speed
becomes faster than 13 km/h (8 mph).
To unlock the doors:
.PressKon the power door lock
switch.
.Shift the transmission into P (Park).
Automatic door locking cannot be
disabled. Automatic door unlocking
can be programmed. See Vehicle
Personalization 0120.
Lockout Protection
If the ignition is on or in ACC/
ACCESSORY and the power door lock
switch is pressed with the driver door
open, all the doors will lock and only
the driver door will unlock.
If the vehicle is off and locking is
requested while a door is open, when
all doors are closed the vehicle will
check for RKE transmitter inside. If an
RKE transmitter is detected and the
number of RKE transmitters inside
has not reduced, the driver door will
unlock and the horn will chirp three
times.
Lockout Protection can be manually
overridden with the driver door open
by pressing and holding
Qon the
power door lock switch.

manually close the liftgate. This will
allow normal power operation
functions to resume.
If the vehicle is locked while the
liftgate is closing, and an obstacle is
encountered that prevents the liftgate
from completely closing, the horn will
sound as an alert that the liftgate did
not close.
Setting the 3/4 Mode
To change the position the liftgate
stops at when opening:1. Select MAX or 3/4 mode and power open the liftgate.
2. Stop the liftgate movement at the desired height by pressing any
liftgate button. Manually adjust the
liftgate position if needed.
3. Press and hold
lnext to the pull
cup on the bottom of the liftgate
until the turn signals flash and a
beep sounds. This indicates the
setting has been recorded. The liftgate cannot be set below a
minimum programmable height.
If there is no light flash or sound,
then the height adjustment may be
too low.
Manual Operation
Select OFF to manually operate the
liftgate.
Caution
Attempting to move the liftgate too
quickly and with excessive force
may result in damage to the
vehicle.
Operate the liftgate manually with a
smooth motion and moderate speed.
The system includes a feature which
limits the manual closing speed to
protect the components.
Hands-Free Operation
If equipped, the liftgate may be
operated with a kicking motion under
the left corner of the rear bumper at
the location of the projected logo. The RKE transmitter must be within
1 m (3 ft) of the rear bumper to
operate the power liftgate hands-free.
The hands-free feature will not work
while the liftgate is moving. To stop
the liftgate while in motion use one of
the liftgate switches.

The indicator light, on the instrument
panel near the windshield, indicates
the status of the system.
Off :Alarm system is disarmed.
On Solid : Vehicle is secured during
the delay to arm the system.
Fast Flash : Vehicle is unsecured.
A door, the hood, or the liftgate
is open.
Slow Flash : Alarm system is armed.
Arming the Alarm System
1. Close the liftgate and the hood.
Turn off the vehicle. 2. Lock the vehicle in one of
three ways:
.Use the RKE transmitter.
.Use the Keyless Access system.
.With a door open, press the
inside
Q.
3. After 30 seconds the alarm system will arm, and the indicator light
will begin to slowly flash indicating
the alarm system is operating.
Pressing
Qon the RKE transmitter
a second time will bypass the
30-second delay and immediately
arm the alarm system.
The vehicle alarm system will not arm
if the doors are locked with the key.
If the driver door is opened without
first unlocking with the RKE
transmitter, the horn will chirp and
the lights will flash to indicate
pre-alarm. If the vehicle is not started,
or the door is not unlocked by
pressing
Kon the RKE transmitter
during the 10-second pre-alarm, the
alarm will be activated.
The alarm will also be activated if a
passenger door, the liftgate, or the
hood is opened without first disarming the system. When the
alarm is activated, the turn signals
flash and the horn sounds for about
30 seconds. The alarm system will
then re-arm to monitor for the next
unauthorized event.
Disarming the Alarm System
To disarm the alarm system or turn
off the alarm if it has been activated:
.PressKon the RKE transmitter.
.Unlock the vehicle using the Keyless
Access system.
.Start the vehicle.
To avoid setting off the alarm by
accident:
.Lock the vehicle after all occupants
have left the vehicle and all doors
are closed.
.Always unlock a door with the RKE
transmitter or use the Keyless
Access system.
Unlocking the driver door with the key
will not disarm the system or turn off
the alarm.
