6. To learn the second key, turn toOFF. Insert the second key tobe learned and turn toON/RUN.
After two keys are learned, theremaining keys can be learned byfollowing the procedure in“Programming with TwoRecognized Keys.”
The key has a bar-coded key tagthat the dealer or qualified locksmithcan use to make new keys. Storethis information in a safe place, notin the vehicle.
See your dealer if a replacementkey or additional key is needed.
If it becomes difficult to turn a key,inspect the key blade for debris.Periodically clean with a brushor pick.
With an active OnStar subscription,an OnStar Advisor may remotelyunlock the vehicle. SeeOnStarOverview0397.
Remote Keyless Entry
(RKE) System

If there is a decrease in the RemoteKeyless Entry (RKE) operatingrange:
.Check the distance. Thetransmitter may be too far fromthe vehicle.
.Check the location. Othervehicles or objects may beblocking the signal.
.Check the transmitter's battery.See“Battery Replacement”laterin this section.
.If the transmitter is still notworking correctly, see yourdealer or a qualified technicianfor service.
Remote Keyless Entry
(RKE) System Operation
The RKE transmitter functions maywork up to 60 m (197 ft) away fromthe vehicle.

With Remote Start (without
Remote Start Similar)

PressingKon the RKE transmitter
disarms the vehicle alarm system.SeeVehicle Alarm System036.
7:Press and release one time toinitiate vehicle locator. The turnsignal lamps flash and the hornsounds three times.
Press and hold7for at least
three seconds to sound the panicalarm. The turn signal lamps flashand the horn sounds repeatedly for30 seconds. The alarm turns offwhen the ignition is moved to ON/
RUN or7is pressed again. The
ignition must be in LOCK/OFF forthe panic alarm to work.
Programming Transmitters to
the Vehicle
Only RKE transmitters programmedto this vehicle will work. If atransmitter is lost or stolen, areplacement can be purchased andprogrammed through your dealer.Each vehicle can have up toeight transmitters programmed to it.See your dealer for transmitterprogramming.
Battery Replacement
Replace the battery in thetransmitter soon if the REPLACEBATTERY IN REMOTE KEYmessage displays in the DIC.
Caution
When replacing the battery, do
not touch any of the circuitry on
the transmitter. Static from your
body could damage the
transmitter.
To r e p l a c e t h e b a t t e r y :
1. Separate and remove the backcover of the transmitter with aflat, thin object, such as a coin.

Fast Flash :Vehicle is unsecured.Adoororthehoodisopen.
Slow Flash :Alarm system isarmed.
Arming the Alarm System
1. Turn off the vehicle.
2. Lock the vehicle with one ofthe following:
.Use the Remote KeylessEntry (RKE) transmitter.
.With a door open, pressQ
on the interior of the door.
3. After 30 seconds the alarmsystem will arm, and theindicator light will begin toslowly flash indicating thealarm system is operating.
PressingQon the RKE
transmitter a second time willbypass the 30-second delayand immediately arm the alarmsystem.
The theft-deterrent alarm system willnot arm if the doors are locked withthe key.
If the driver door is opened withoutfirst unlocking with the RKEtransmitter, the horn will chirp andthe lights will flash to indicatepre-alarm. If the vehicle is notstarted, or the door is not unlocked
by pressingKon the RKE
transmitter during the 10-secondpre-alarm, the alarm will beactivated.
If a door or the hood is openedwithout first disarming the system,the turn signals will flash and thehorn will sound for about30 seconds. The alarm system willthen re-arm to monitor for the nextunauthorized event.
Disarming the Alarm System
To d i s a r m t h e a l a r m s y s t e m o r t u r noff the alarm if it has been activated:
.PressKon the RKE transmitter.
.Start the vehicle.
To a v o i d s e t t i n g o f f t h e a l a r m b yaccident:
.Lock the vehicle after alloccupants have left the vehicleand all doors are closed.
.Always unlock a door with theRKE transmitter.
Unlocking the driver door with thekey will not disarm the system orturn off the alarm.
Detecting a Tamper Condition
IfKis pressed on the RKE
transmitter and the horn chirps threetimes, an alarm occurred previouslywhile the alarm system was armed.

This vehicle has a passivetheft-deterrent system.

This feature will flash the exteriorlamps and allows the headlamps,parking lamps, taillamps, and mostof the interior lamps to turn on
briefly whenKon the Remote
Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter ispressed to locate the vehicle.
Select Off or On.
Exit Lighting
This allows the selection of howlong the exterior lamps stay onwhen leaving the vehicle when it isdark outside.
Select Off, 30 Seconds, 60Seconds, or 120 Seconds.
Power Door Locks
Select and the following maydisplay:
.Unlocked Door Anti-Lockout
.Auto Door Unlock
.Delayed Door Lock
Unlocked Door Anti-Lockout
When on, this feature will keep thedriver door from locking when thedoor is open. If Off is selected, theDelayed Door Lock menu will beavailable.
Select Off or On.
Auto Door Unlock
This allows selection of which of thedoors will automatically unlock whenthe vehicle is shifted into P (Park)for an automatic transmission orwhen the key is removed from theignition for a manual transmission.
Select Off, All Doors, or Driver Door.
Delayed Door Lock
When on, this feature will delay thelocking of the doors. To override thedelay, press the power door lockswitch on the door.
Select Off or On.
Remote Lock, Unlock, Start

There are two minutes to match thefirst tire/wheel position, andfive minutes overall to match all fourtire/wheel positions. If it takeslonger, the matching process stopsand must be restarted.
The TPMS sensor matchingprocess is:
1. Set the parking brake.
2. Turn the ignition to ON/RUNwith the engine off.
3. If the vehicle has an uplevelDIC, make sure the TirePressure info page option isturned on. The info pages onthe DIC can be turned on andoff through the Settings menu.

4. If the vehicle has an uplevelDIC, use the DIC controls onthe right side of the steeringwheel to scroll to the TirePressure screen under the DICinfo page.
If the vehicle has a base levelDIC, use the MENU button toselect the Vehicle Informationmenu in the DIC. Use thethumbwheel to scroll to the TirePressure Menu item screen.
5. If the vehicle has an uplevel
DIC, press and holdVin the
center of the DIC controls.
If the vehicle has a base levelDIC, press SET/CLR on theturn signal lever to begin thesensor matching process.
Amessageaskingiftheprocess should begin shouldappear. Press SET/CLR againto confirm the selection.
The horn sounds twice tosignal the receiver is in relearnmode and the TIRELEARNING ACTIVE messagedisplays on the DIC screen.
6. Start with the driver sidefront tire.
7. Place the relearn tool againstthe tire sidewall, near the valvestem. Then press the button toactivate the TPMS sensor.Ahornchirpconfirmsthatthesensor identification code hasbeen matched to this tire andwheel position.
8. Proceed to the passenger sidefront tire, and repeat theprocedure in Step 7.
9. Proceed to the passenger siderear tire, and repeat theprocedure in Step 7.
10. Proceed to the driver side reartire, and repeat the procedurein Step 7. The horn sounds twotimes to indicate the sensoridentification code has beenmatched to the driver side reartire, and the TPMS sensor

from each other and use acombination of letters, numbers,and symbols to increase thesecurity.
.Change the default name of theSSID (Service Set Identifier).This is your network’snamethatis visible to other wirelessdevices. Choose a unique nameand avoid family names orvehicle descriptions.
OnStar Wi-Fi®Hotspot (IfEquipped)
The vehicle may have a built-inWi-Fi hotspot that provides accessto the Internet and web content at4G LTE speed. Up to seven mobiledevices can be connected. A dataplan is required. Use the in-vehiclecontrols only when it is safe todo so.
1. To retrieve Wi-Fi hotspot
information, press=,waitfor
the prompt, then say“Wi-Fisettings.”On some vehicles,touch Wi-Fi Settings on thescreen.
2. The Wi-Fi settings will displaythe Wi-Fi hotspot name (SSID),password, and on somevehicles, the connection type(no Internet connection, 3G,4G, 4G LTE), and signal quality(poor, good, excellent).
3. To change the SSID or
password, pressQor call
1-888-4ONSTAR to connectwith an Advisor.
After initial set-up, your vehicle’sWi-Fi hotspot will connectautomatically to your mobiledevices. Manage data usage byturning Wi-Fi on or off on yourmobile device, using theRemoteLink mobile app, or bycontacting an OnStar Advisor.

Download the OnStar RemoteLinkmobile app to select Apple®iOS,Android™,BlackBerry®,or Windows®mobile devices.
OnStar Subscribers can access thefollowing services from a mobiledevice:
