Automatic Lap-Shoulder Belt (corn)
Q: What's wrong with this?
A The shoulder belt is worn under the
arm. It should be worn over the
shoulder at all times.
A You can be seriously injured
- L if you wear the shoulder belt .
under your arm. In a crash, your
body would move too far forward,
which would increase the chance of
head and neck injury. Also, the belt
would apply too much force to the
ribs, which aren't as strong as
shoulder bones. You could also
severely injure internal organs like
vour liver or sdeen.

Q: What's wrong with this?
A: The belt is twisted across the body.
CAUTION
You can be seriously injured
/- by a twisted belt. In a crash,
you wouldn't have the full width of
the belt to take impact forces.
If a
belt is twisted, make it straight
so it
can work properly, or ask your
dealer to fix it.

Safety Belt Use During
Pregnancy
Safety belts work for everyone,
including pregnant women. Like all
occupants, they are more likely to be
seriously injured if they don't wear
safety belts.
A pregnant woman should wear a
lap-shoulder belt, and the lap portion
should be worn
as low as possible
throughout the pregnancy.
The best way to protect the fetus is to
protect the mother. When a safety belt
is worn properly, it's more likely that
the fetus won't be hurt in a crash. For
pregnant women, as for anyone, the key
to making safety belts effective is
wearing them properly.

Temperature-A, B, C (CONT.)
Warning: The temperature grade for
this tire is established for a tire that is
properly inflated and not overloaded.
Excessive speed, underinflation, or
excessive loading, either separately or
in combination, can cause heat
buildup and possible tire failure.
Those grades are molded on the
sidewalls of passenger car tires.
While the tires available as standard or
optional equipment on General Motors
vehicles may vary with respect to these
grades, all such tires meet General
Motors performance standards and
have been approved for use on General
Motors vehicles. All passenger type
(P Metric) tires must conform to
Federal safety requirements in addition
to these grades.

Wheel Alignment and
Tire Balance
The wheels on your vehicle were
aligned and balanced carefully at the
factory to give you the longest tire life
and best overall performance.
In most cases, you
will not need to have
your wheels aligned again. However, if
you notice unusual tire wear or your
vehicle pulling one way or the other, the
alignment may need to be reset. If you
notice ycur vehicle vibrating when
driving on a smooth road, your wheels
may need to be rebalanced.
Wheel Replacement
Replace any wheel that is bent, cracked
or badly rusted. If wheel nuts keep
I
coming loose, the wheel, wheel bolts,
and wheel nuts should be replaced. If
the wheel leaks air out, replace
it
(except some aluminum wheels, which
can sometimes be repaired). See your
Chevrolet dealer if any
of these
conditions exist.Your dealer will know
I
the kind of wheel you need.
Each new wheel should have the same
load carrying capacity, diameter, width,
offset, and be mounted the same way
as
the one it replaces.
If you need to replace any
of your
wheels, wheel bolts, or wheel nuts,
replace them only with
new GM
original equipment parts. This way, you
will be sure to have the right wheels,
wheel bolts, and wheel nuts for your
Chevrolet model.
