The system allows the driver to select information by
pushing the following buttons mounted on the steering
wheel:
•Up Arrow Button
Push and release the uparrow button to scroll
upward through the Main Menu items.
• Down Arrow Button
Push and release the downarrow button to scroll
downward through the Main Menu items. •
Right Arrow Button
Push and release the rightarrow button to access
the information screens or submenu screens of a
main menu item.
• Back/Left Arrow Button
Push and release the leftarrow button to access
the information screens or submenu screens of a
main menu item.
• OK Button
Push the OKbutton to access/select the information
screens or submenu screens of a Main Menu item. Push
and hold the OKarrow button for one second to reset
displayed/selected features that can be reset.
Oil Life Reset
• Your vehicle is equipped with an engine oil change
indicator system. The “Oil Change Due” message will
display for approximately five seconds after a single
chime has sounded, to indicate the next scheduled oil
change interval. The engine oil change indicator system
is duty cycle based, which means the engine oil change
interval may fluctuate, dependent upon your personal
driving style.

•Unless reset, this message will continue to display each
time the ignition is cycled to the ON/RUN position.
• To reset the oil change indicator, refer to the following
procedure:
Without pressing the brake pedal, push the ENGINE
START/STOP button and place the ignition in the ON/
RUN position (do not start the vehicle.)
NOTE: This procedure should only be performed after
scheduled maintenance is completed. Resetting oil life
other than when associated with a scheduled maintenance
may result in severe engine damage.
1. Push the OKbutton to enter the instrument cluster
display menu screen.
2. Push and release the downarrow button to access the
”Oil Life” menu screen.
3. Push the leftarrow button or right arrow button to
access the “Vehicle Info” submenu.
4. Hold the OKbutton to reset the “Oil Life” to 100%.
5. Push the uparrow button to exit the instrument cluster
display menu screen. Secondary Method For Oil Life Reset Procedure
1. Without pushing the brake pedal, place the ignition in
the ON/RUN position (do not start the engine).
2. Fully press the accelerator pedal, slowly, three times within ten seconds.
3. Without pushing the brake pedal, place the ignition in the OFF/LOCK position.
NOTE: If the indicator message illuminates when you
start the vehicle, the oil change indicator system did not
reset. If necessary, repeat this procedure.
Fuel And Oil Refresh Mode
Since it is possible to operate this vehicle for extended
periods of time without running the gas engine, the fuel
within the vehicle’s fuel tank can become stale or the
engine oil’s lubricating properties can be reduced. To
prevent engine and/or fuel system damage due to stale
fuel, as well as, maintaining internal engine lubrication,
this vehicle is equipped with a “Fuel and Oil Refresh
Mode”.

•If one or more tires have low pressure, “Inflate Tire To
XX” is displayed with the vehicle ICON, and the tire
pressure values in each corner of the ICON with the
pressure value of the low tire displayed in a different
color than the other tire pressure value.
• If the Tire Pressure system requires service, “Service Tire
Pressure System” is displayed.
• Tire PSI is an information only function and cannot be
reset.
• Refer to “Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)”
under “Safety” for further information.
• Coolant Temperature
Displays the actual coolant temperature.
• Oil Temperature
Displays the actual oil temperature.
• Oil Pressure
Displays the actual oil pressure.
• Battery Voltage
Displays the actual battery voltage. •
Engine Hours — If Equipped
Displays the number of hours of engine operation.
• Oil Life
To reset the Oil Life, you must hold the OK button. The
“Hold OK to Reset” instruction will be displayed at all
times, but the following conditions will need to be met in
order to reset Oil Life:
The vehicle must be off
The ignition must be in the ON/RUN position
• If the conditions are met, holding the OKbutton will
reset the gauge and the numeric display will return to
100%.
• If the conditions are not met, a popup message will
display for 5 seconds, describing the required condi-
tions, and then the Oil Life screen will reappear.
NOTE: This procedure should only be performed after
scheduled maintenance is completed. Resetting oil life
other than when associated with a scheduled maintenance
may result in severe engine damage.

Push and release theupordown arrow button until
Hybrid Info is highlighted in the instrument cluster dis-
play. Push the leftorright arrow button to scroll through

contamination so that the BSM system can function prop-
erly. Do not block the area of the rear fascia where the radar
sensors are located with foreign objects (bumper stickers,
bicycle racks, etc.).
If the system detects degraded performance due to con-
tamination or foreign objects, a message will warn you of a
blocked sensor and the warning indicators in side view
mirrors will be on. The warning indicators will remain
illuminated until blockage clearing conditions are met.
First clear the fascia area around the sensors of the block-
age. After removing the blockage, the following procedure
can be used to reset the system:•
Cycle the ignition from ON to OFF, and then back ON.
If the blockage message is still present after cycling the
ignition and driving in traffic, check again for a blockage.
The BSM system notifies the driver of objects in the
detection zones by illuminating the BSM warning light
located in the outside mirrors in addition to sounding an
audible (chime) alert and reducing the radio volume. Refer
to “Modes Of Operation” in this section for further infor-
mation.

•Cut off battery power to the:
• Engine

NOTE: After an accident, remember to cycle the ignition
to the STOP (OFF/LOCK) position and remove the key
from the ignition switch to avoid draining the battery.
Carefully check the vehicle for fuel leaks in the engine
compartment and on the ground near the engine compart-
ment and fuel tank before resetting the system and starting
the engine. If there are no fuel leaks or damage to the
vehicle electrical devices (e.g. headlights) after an accident,
reset the system by following the procedure described
below. If you have any doubt, contact an authorized dealer.Enhanced Accident Response System Reset
Procedure
After an event occurs requiring activation of the Enhanced
Accident Response System, when the system is active, a “
Service Hybrid Electric Vehicle System” message will be
displayed on the instrument cluster. The vehicle is not
drivable in this state.
In order to reset the High Voltage Battery and Engine, the
vehicle must be towed to an authorized dealer immedi-
ately to be inspected and have the Enhanced Accident
Response System reset.
In order to immediately reset the Hazard Flashers, Interior
Lights, Power Door Locks, HVAC Blower Motor, the igni-
tion switch must be changed from START or ON/RUN to
ignition OFF.
Maintaining Your Air Bag System
WARNING!
• Modifications to any part of the air bag system could
cause it to fail when you need it. You could be
injured if the air bag system is not there to protect

AutoPark
AutoPark is a supplemental feature to assist in placing the
vehicle in PARK should the situations on the following
pages occur. It is a back up system and should not be relied
upon as the primary method by which the driver shifts the
vehicle into PARK.
The conditions under which AutoPark will engage are
outlined on the following pages.
WARNING!
•Driver inattention could lead to failure to place the
vehicle in PARK. ALWAYS DO A VISUAL CHECK
that your vehicle is in PARK by verifying that a solid
(not blinking) “P” is indicated in the instrument
cluster display and near the gear selector. If the P
indicator is blinking, your vehicle is not in PARK. As
an added precaution, always apply the parking brake
when exiting the vehicle.
• AutoPark is a supplemental feature. It is not de-
signed to replace the need to shift your vehicle into
PARK. It is a back up system and should not be
relied upon as the primary method by which the
driver shifts the vehicle into PARK. ALWAYS DO A VISUAL CHECK
that your vehicle is in
PARK by looking for the “P” in the Instrument Cluster
Display and on the shifter. As an added precaution, always
apply the parking brake.
If the vehicle is not in PARK and the driver attempts to
turn off the engine, if certain conditions are met, the
vehicle will AutoPark, automatically shifting the vehi-
cle’s transmission to the PARK position. The rotary
shifter will automatically reset itself to the PARK posi-
tion. The vehicle’s ignition will then move to the OFF
position (Engine OFF). When AutoPark is activated the
instrument cluster will display the message “AutoPark
Engaged”
AutoPark will engage when all of these conditions are met:
• Vehicle is equipped with a rotary selector
• Vehicle is not in PARK
• Vehicle Speed is 1.2 MPH (1.9 km/h) or less
• Driver has pushed the ENGINE START/STOP BUTTON
If the vehicle is not in PARK and the driver exits the
vehicle with the engine running, if certain conditions are
met, the vehicle will AutoPark, automatically shifting the
vehicle’s transmission to the PARK position. The Electric

Brake Service Mode
We recommend having your brakes serviced by your
authorized dealer. You should only make repairs for which
you have the knowledge and the right equipment. You
should only enter Brake Service Mode during brake ser-
vice.
When servicing your rear brakes, it may be necessary for
you or your technician to push the rear piston into the rear
caliper bore. With the Electric Park Brake system, this can
only be done after retracting the Electric Park Brake
actuator. Fortunately, actuator retraction can be done easily
by entering the “Brake Service” through the “Uconnect
Settings” in your vehicle. This menu based system will
guide you through the steps necessary to retract the EPB
actuator in order to perform rear brake service.
Brake Service Mode has requirements that must be met in
order to be activated:
•The vehicle must be at a standstill.
• The park brake must be unapplied.
• The transmission must be in PARK or NEUTRAL.
While in service mode, the Electric Park Brake fault lamp
will flash continuously while the ignition switch is ON. When brake service work is complete, the following steps
must be followed to reset the parking brake system to
normal operation:
•
Ensure the vehicle is at a standstill.
• Press the brake pedal with moderate force.
• Apply the Electric Park Brake Switch.
WARNING!
You can be badly injured working on or around a
motor vehicle. Do only that service work for which you
have the knowledge and the right equipment. If you
have any doubt about your ability to perform a service
job, take your vehicle to a competent mechanic.
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION
WARNING!
•Never use the PARK position as a substitute for the
park brake. Always apply the park brake fully when
exiting the vehicle to guard against vehicle move-
ment and possible injury or damage.

NOTE:Based on the drive gear and/or speed of the
vehicle, the Quiet Vehicle Pedestrian Module (QVPM) will
broadcast a sound to warn nearby pedestrians that a
vehicle is approaching. In addition, the module will indi-
cate change in speed by varying the pitch of sound.
Transmission Limp Home Mode
Transmission function is monitored electronically for ab-
normal conditions. If a condition is detected that could
result in transmission damage, Transmission Limp Home
Mode is activated. In this mode, vehicle speed is limited to
about 45 mph (72 km/h). In addition to the Malfunction
Indicator Light (MIL), the Service Hybrid System Telltale,
the Red Turtle indication, and a popup message indicating
that vehicle speed may be limited may all be illuminated.
Limp Home Mode allows the vehicle to be driven to an
authorized dealer for service without damaging the trans-
mission.
In the event of a momentary problem, the transmission can
be reset to regain functionality by performing the following
steps:
1. Stop the vehicle.
2. Shift the transmission into PARK, if possible. If not, shift the transmission to NEUTRAL. 3. Push and hold the ignition switch until the vehicle turns
OFF.
4. Wait approximately 30 seconds.
5. Restart the vehicle.
6. Shift into the desired gear range. If the problem is no longer detected, the transmission will return to normal
operation.
NOTE: Even if the transmission can be reset, we recom-
mend that you visit an authorized dealer at your earliest
possible convenience. An authorized dealer has diagnostic
equipment to assess the condition of your transmission. If
the transmission cannot be reset, authorized dealer service
is required.
ACTIVE NOISE CANCELLATION
Your vehicle is equipped with an Active Noise Cancellation
System. This system is designed to address exhaust and
engine noise. The system relies on four microphones
embedded in the headliner, which monitor exhaust and
engine noise, and assists an onboard frequency generator,
which creates counteracting sound waves in the audio
system’s speakers. This helps keep the vehicle quiet at idle
and during drive.

SPEED CONTROL — IF EQUIPPED
When engaged, the Speed Control takes over accelerator
operations at speeds greater than 25 mph (40 km/h).
The Speed Control buttons are located on the right side of
the steering wheel.NOTE:
In order to ensure proper operation, the Speed
Control System has been designed to shut down if multiple
Speed Control functions are operated at the same time. If
this occurs, the Speed Control System can be reactivated by
pushing the Speed Control on/off button and resetting the
desired vehicle set speed.
WARNING!
Speed Control can be dangerous where the system
cannot maintain a constant speed. Your vehicle could
go too fast for the conditions, and you could lose
control and have an accident. Do not use Speed Control
in heavy traffic or on roads that are winding, icy,
snow-covered or slippery.
To Activate
Push the On/Off button to activate the Speed Control. The
cruise indicator light in the instrument cluster display will
illuminate. To turn the system off, push the On/Off button
a second time. The cruise indicator light will turn off. The
system should be turned off when not in use.
