FUEL GAUGE COOLANT TEMPERATURE
The needle is positioned before the
red zone: normal operation.
In arduous conditions of use or hot
climatic conditions, the needle may
move close to the red graduations.
What you should do if the needle
enters the red zone:
Reduce your speed or let the engine
run at idle.
What you should do if the warning
light comes on:
- stop immediately, switch off the ignition. The fan may continue to
operate for a certain time up to
a p p r o x i m a t e l y 1 0 m i n u t e s .
- wait for the engine to cool down in order to check the coolant level and
top it up if necessary.
As the cooling system is pressurised,
follow this advice in order to avoid any
risk of scalding:
- wait at least one hour after switching off the engine before
carrying out any work,
- unscrew the cap by 1/4 turn to allow the pressure to drop,
- when the pressure has dropped, c h e c k t h e l e v e l o n t h e e x p a n s i o n
bottle,
- if necessary, remove the cap to top up.
If the needle remains in the red
zone, have the system checked by a
CITROËN dealer.
Refer to the "Levels" section of
chapter 6.
Refer to the "Fuel" section of
chapter 6.
The fuel level is tested each time the
key is turned to the "running" position.
The gauge is positioned on:
-
1: the fuel tank is full,

- 0: the reserve is now being
used, the warning light comes on

GEARBOX
5-speed - reverse gear gearbox
To change gear easily, always press
the clutch pedal fully.
To prevent the mat from becoming
caught under the pedal:
- e n s u r e t h a t t h e m a t a n d i t s fi x i n g s o n t h e fl o o r a r e p o s i t i o n e d c o r r e c t l y ,
- n e v e r fi t o n e m a t o n t o p o f a n o t h e r .
When driving, avoid leaving your hand
o n t h e g e a r k n o b a s t h e f o r c e e x e r t e d ,
even if slight, may wear the internal
c o m p o n e n t s o f t h e g e a r b o x o v e r t i m e . To engage reverse gear, wait until the
vehicle is stationary then push the gear
lever to the right then down.
The lever should be moved slowly to
reduce the noise on engaging reverse
gear.
This equipment will become available
during the year.
GEAR SHIFT INDICATOR
In order to drive as fuel
e f fi c i e n t l y a s p o s s i b l e w i t h a
m a n u a l g e a r b o x , t h i s i n d i c a t o r
lamp indicates to the driver to
change up.
The driver remains responsible
for deciding whether or not to follow
this indication, since the indicator lamp
comes on without taking into account
t h e c o n fi g u r a t i o n o f t h e r o a d , t h e
a m o u n t o f t r a f fi c a n d s a f e t y f a c t o r s .
The lighting of this indicator lamp
cannot be deactivated.
When reverse gear is engaged
and when changing down whilst
decelerating, the function is disabled.

FILLING WITH FUEL

fi l l e r fl a p o p e n , e n s u r e t h a t n o o n e
attempts to open the sliding side
door.
W h e n t h e m i n i m u m f u e l t a n k
level is reached, this warning
light comes on.
You then have approximately 8 litres
of fuel remaining. Fill up without delay
to avoid running out of fuel.
N e v e r r i s k d r i v i n g u n t i l y o u r u n o u t
of fuel as this may damage the
a n t i p o l l u t i o n a n d i n j e c t i o n s y s t e m s . Quality of the fuel used for
petrol engines

reminds you of the type of fuel to be
used.
Y o u m u s t fi l l w i t h a t l e a s t 5 l i t r e s o f f u e l
for it to be registered by the fuel gauge.
W h e n t h e f u e l fi l l e r c a p i s o p e n e d ,
there may be a slight air suction noise.
This vacuum is entirely normal and is
due to the sealing of the fuel circuit.
W h e n fi l l i n g t h e f u e l t a n k , d o n o t
c o n t i n u e a f t e r t h e 3 r d c u t - o f f o f t h e
nozzle. This could cause malfunctions.
T h e c a p a c i t y o f t h e f u e l t a n k i s
approximately 60 litres.
- A f t e r fi l l i n g t h e f u e l t a n k , l o c k t h e c a p a n d c l o s e t h e fl a p . The petrol engines are perfectly
compatible with E10 type petrol
b i o f u e l s ( c o n t a i n i n g 1 0 % e t h a n o l ) ,
conforming to European standards

compatible with biofuels which conform

WEIGHTS AND TOWED LOADS (KG)
General points The GTW and towed load values
indicated are valid up to a maximum
altitude of 1 000 metres; the towed
load mentioned must be reduced by
10 % for each additional 1 000 metres.
GTW: gross train weight
GVW: gross vehicle weight
MOM: kerb weight
CVA: vertical load on the towbar
The speed of a towing vehicle must not
exceed 50 mph (80 km/h) (comply with
the legislation in force in your country).
The braked towed weight with load
transfer can be increased on condition
that the equivalent of this load is
removed from the vehicle so that the
GTW is not exceeded. Warning: towing
using a lightly loaded towing vehicle
may have an adverse effect on its road
holding. High exterior temperatures may result
in a reduction in the performance of the
vehicle in order to protect the engine;
when the exterior temperature is higher
than 37 °C, limit the towed weight.
The kerb weight is equal to the weight
without load + driver (75 kg) + fuel tank
fi l l e d t o 9 0 % .
