Engine oil level indicator
depending on your vehicle's engine,
when the ignition is switched on, the
engine oil level is indicated for a few
seconds,
 after  the  service  information. Oil level correct
Low oil level
Flashing of "OIL",
linked
 with  the Â
service
 warning  lamp, Â
accompanied
 by  an Â
audible
 signal  and  a  message  in  the Â
screen, indicates a low oil level which
could
 damage  the  engine.
If  the  low  oil  level  is  confirmed  by  a Â
check
 using  the  dipstick,  it  is  essential Â
that
 the  level  is  topped  up.
Oil level gauge fault
Flashing of "OIL--"
indicates Â
a
Â
malfunction of the engine oil level
indicator. Â Contact
 a
 CITROËN  dealer  or  a  qualified
 workshop.
The level read will only be correct
if the vehicle is on level ground
and the engine has been of
f for
more
 than  30  minutes.

Zero re-set
Your CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop carries  out  this  operation Â

 each  service.
However, if you carry out the service
yourself, the re-set procedure is as
follows:

press and hold the trip recorder
reset button,

switch
 on  the  ignition.
The
 display  begins  a  countdown.
When the display shows "=0", release
the
 button;  the  spanner  disappears.

This must be carried out at the intervals  specified  in  the Â

Remove
 the  dipstick  before  filling.
Check
 the  level  after  filling  (never Â
exceed
 the  max  mark).
Refit
 the  oil  filler  cap  before  closing  the Â
bonnet.
changing the brake fluid
The brake fluid must be changed at the intervals stated, according to the
manufacturer's servicing  schedule.
Use
 fluids  recommended  by  the Â
manufacturer
,  which  meet  the  DOT4 Â
standard.
The
 level  must  be  between  the  MIN Â
and
 MAX  marks  on  the  reservoir.
If
 fluid  has  to  be  added  frequently, Â
this
 indicates  a  fault  which  must  be Â
checked
 by  a  CITROËN  dealer  or Â
a
 qualified  workshop  as  soon  as Â
possible.
Warning lamps
 If you have to remove / refitÂ
the engine style cover , handle it
with
 care  to  avoid  damaging  the Â
fixing
 clips.
Oil level
It is recommended that the oil level be checked  every  3  000  miles  (5  000  km) Â
and topped up if necessary between oil
changes.
Check
 the  level  with  the  vehicle  level, Â
engine
 cold,  using  the  dipstick.

In
 all  cases,  the  oil  selected  must Â
meet
 the  requirements  specified  in  the Â
manufacturer's
 service  schedule.
These
 regular  maintenance Â

 systems,  the  use Â
of additives in engine oil
