1. Interior lamps

Automatic lighting of the interior lampsOn entering the vehicle:
They come on as soon as the vehicle is unlocked or a door is opened. T h e y g o o u t 3 0 s e c o n d s a f t e r t h e d o o r s a r e c l o s e d o r w h e n i g n i t i o n i s s w i t c h e d o n .
On vacating the vehicle: T h e y c o m e o n a s s o o n a s t h e i g n i t i o n k e y i s r e m o v e d ( t i m e d f o r 3 0 s e c o n d s ) , o r w h e n a d o o r i s o p e n e d .

2. Spotlamps
A press on one of the buttons 2 switches the corresponding spotlamp on or off.
These do not work if the ignition is off or in economy mode.

Lower glovebox
To open, pull the handle and lower the lid.
It comprises a storage area for vehicle documents.

Cigar-lighter
Functions when the ignition is switched on.
Push in and wait a few moments. The cigar lighter will release auto-matically.
Ashtray
A movable ashtray can be placed in the cupholder locations on the central console and in the storage pockets of the rear panels.

Sun visor
To prevent dazzle from ahead, fold the visor downwards. They can be d i s e n g a g e d f r o m t h e i r c e n t r a l fi x -ing and pivoted over to the side windows if required.
The passenger’s and driver’s sun visors each have a mirror that can be covered.

Storage areas
S t r a p s fi x e d t o t h e b o t t o m o f t h e boot enable you to secure objects stowed there.
Grab handles/Coat hanger hook
The lower tailgate can support spread loads of up to 100 kg.
Lower tailgate storage
Lift up the two levers located on the lower tailgate to open the cover and access the storage area.

RemovalOpen the upper tailgate.
Detach the parcel shelf cords. P u l l fi r m l y d o w n w a r d s t o d i s e n -gage the hinge pivots.

Check that the bonnet is properly secured.
Avoid opening the bonnet in high winds.
Bonnet
This operation should only be performed while the vehicle is stationary.
To release the bonnet, pull the con-trol located under the dashboard towards you.
Operate the lever A, located above the grille, to the right of the chev-rons, then lift.Note: The panel may be hot after the vehicle has been in use.
Bonnet stay: Unclip the stay and pivot to lodge it in the notch.
To close
Return the bonnet stay to its initial position.
Check that nothing has been left on top of the engine and that any component that was moved has been correctly repositioned.
Lower the bonnet carefully, then let it drop shut.

Follow the requirements set out in the Maintenance Guide.
W i n d s c r e e n / r e a r screen wash and head- l a m p w a s h fl u i d
Use CITROËN-approved products wherever possible.
Capacity: See “Capacities”.
Engine coolant
T h e fl u i d l e v e l s h o u l d b e between the marks MIN. and MAX. on the header tank.
E n g i n e h o t , w a i t a t l e a s t 1 5 m i n u t e s .
Quality: See “Maintenance Guide”.
Never do anything relating to the cooling system of an engine that is hot.
12V battery
See “Starting with a slave battery”.
Engine oil
Check the engine oil level on horizontal ground with the engine having been s w i t c h e d o f f f o r a t l e a s t 1 0 m i n u t e s .
Quality: See “Maintenance Guide”.
Pull out the manual dipstick.
The level should be between the marks MIN.and MAX. on the gauge.
It must never exceed the maximum.

Engine oil
Check the engine oil level on hori-zontal ground with the engine hav-ing been switched off for at least 1 0 m i n u t e s .
Pull out the manual dipstick.
The level should be between the marks MIN. and MAX. on the gauge.
Topping up engine oil
B e f o r e fi l l i n g , p u l l o u t t h e d i p s t i c k .
C h e c k t h e d i p s t i c k a f t e r fi l l i n g .
It must never exceed the maxi-mum.
Screw the cap back on and close the bonnet.

R a d i a t o r – c o o l a n t fl u i d
Checking the level and topping up w i t h fl u i d m u s t a l w a y s b e d o n e w i t h the engine cold.
Engine hot
Release the protection cover.
W a i t 1 5 m i n u t e s o r f o r t h e t e m p e r - a t u r e t o b e l o w e r t h a n 1 0 0 ° C a n d then carefully unscrew the cap so as to allow the pressure to drop, protecting yourself with, say, a cloth.
Topping up the coolant
T h e fl u i d l e v e l s h o u l d b e b e t w e e n the marks MIN. and MAX. on the header tank.
Top up the level. If you have to put in more than 1 litre, have the cool-ing system checked by a CITROËN in more than 1 litre, have the cool-
dealer.
Make sure that the cap is back on properly.Note: I f y o u n e e d t o t o p u p t h e fl u i d frequently, this indicates a malfunc-tion which you should get checked at the earliest opportunity.

Remark: The cooling fan may o p e r a t e f o r a r o u n d 1 0 m i n u t e s after the engine has stopped.
