Manual adjustments
Head restraint
To raise or lower the head restraint, pull it forwards at the same time as sliding it.
The adjustment is correct when the top edge of the head restraint is at the same height as the top of the head.
To remove it, bring it to the high position. Lift the tab with the aid of a coin and pull.
Backrest angle
Action the control rearwards and adjust the angle of the back-rest.
I t i s p o s s i b l e t o r e c l i n e t h e b a c k r e s t t o a n a n g l e o f 4 5 ° b y t i l t -ing it until it locks. Press the control to unlock.
Heated seats
The front seats can be heated indi-vidually. Use the controls located at the side of the seats, and select one of the three heating levels:
0: Off.
1: Slight heat.
2: Medium heat.
3: Maximum heat.
The seat temperature adjusts auto-matically.Note: The heated seats only oper-ate when the engine is running.
Seat height and rake adjustment
Lift the control and use the weight of your body to move th e seat to the desired position.
Reach
Lift the control bar and adjust to the desired position.
Access to the rear seat positions
To access the rear seat positions, action the control forwards to fold the backrest and slide the front seat.
Afterwards the front seat will revert to its initial position.
Make sure that the seat is secured in place (particularly if the rear seats are folded).

In the front passenger's seat position, it is imperative to deactivate the front passenger's airbag if you are installing a “r ear-facing” child seat there. Otherwise the child risks being killed or serio usly injured should the airbag deploy.
Front passenger's airbag deactivation
In order to be able to use a rear-facing child seat in the front passenger's seat position, it is imperative to deactivate the passenger's airbag.
For that:With the ignition switched off, insert the key into the switch A.
Turn the key to the “OFF” position, the passenger's airbag is deactivated.
The front passenger's airbag deactivation warning lamp, in th e instrument panel, lights up when you switch on the ignition.
Reactivating the front passenger's airbag
Do not forget to reactivate the function.
For that:With the ignition switched off, insert the key into the switch A.
Turn the key to the “ON” position, the airbag is activated.
The warning lamp in the instrument panel lights up for a f ew seconds when you switch on the ignition.

2. Spotlamps
A press on one of the buttons 2 switches the corresponding spotlamp on or off.
These do not work if the ignition is off or in economy mode.

Cigar-lighter
Functions when the ignition is switched on.
Push in and wait a few moments. The cigar lighter will release auto-matically.
Ashtray
A movable ashtray can be placed in the cupholder locations on the central console and in the storage pockets of the rear panels.

Priming the fuel system
In the event of running out of fuel: A f t e r fi l l i n g ( 5 l i t r e s m i n i m u m ) , operate the manual priming pump until some resistance is felt.
Operate the starter motor while depressing the accelerator pedal slightly until the engine starts.
I f t h e e n g i n e f a i l s t o s t a r t a t t h e fi r s t a t t e m p t , w a i t 1 5 s e c o n d s b e f o r e trying again.
If the engine fails to start after sev-eral attempts, repeat the procedure from the beginning.
When the engine is idling, acceler-ate slightly to complete the bleed-ing of the circuit.

Starting the engine with an assisting battery
If the battery is discharged, it is possible to use either a separate emergency battery or a battery on another vehicle.A. Dischargedbattery (Under the bonnet).B. Assisting battery.C. Earth point on broken down vehicle.

If you use the battery on another vehicle, stop the engine on the latter. The two vehicles must not come into direct contact wit h each other.
Connect the cables according to the order indicated in the dia-ordergram. Check that the leads are well secured (risk of sparks).
Start the engine of the assisting vehicle. Let the engine run for around 1 minute at a slightly accelerated idle.
Operate the starter on the vehicle being assisted.
It is essential to follow the indicated sequence correctly .
N e v e r a p p r o a c h w i t h a fl a m e o r c r e a t e s p a r k s i n t h e v i c i n i t y of the battery (explosive gas).
The battery contains dilute sulphuric acid which is highly corrosive.
When handling batteries, always protect your face a nd especially your eyes.
In the event of any contact with the skin, rinse immediatel y with copious amounts of fresh water.
Advice
Do not touch the leads during the operation.
Do not lean over the batteries.
Disconnect the cables in reverse order, making sure they do not touch together.

VOICE RECOGNITIONA short press on the end of the control stalk 7starts telephone voice recognition.Voice recognition allows you to make a call to a number for which you have recorded a label on the mobile telephone that is twinned and connected.
Remark :It is possible to stop the call, provided the dialling has not yet c ommenc ed, with a short press on the end of the lighting control stalk 7.
Remarks :While you are on a call, the audio source currently being listened to is paused.Some ring tones on your mobile telephone may not be recognised by the Bluetooth system on your vehicle. A different ring tone will be chosen by the system.

ACTIVATION /DEACTIVATION OF VOICE RECOGNITIONGive a short press on the end of the lighting control stalk 7 to activate this function. A c t i v a t i o n o f t h e f u n c t i o n i s c o n fi r m e d b y a beep and by the opening of a window on the display. The system is then listening. If the word pronounced is understood by the system, then it is displayed in the window and a beep is heard. Other wise the system says “Sor r y”. You then have to say the word again.Voice commands are deactivated automati-cally and the system emits a double beep, when an action has been completed using voice commands.If no voice commands are given, this function is deactivated after a few seconds and the system says “End of recognition”.A press on the end of the lighting control stalk 7 or on J, deactivates the function.
Example :To obtain memorised radio station no. 3 : Pro-nounce the word “Radio”, wait for the system to reply with a beep, then pronounce the word “Memor y”, wait for the system to reply with a b e e p , t h e n fi n i s h w i t h t h e w o r d 3.After the double beep, the desired action is per formed.If you say the word “Help” and “What can I say”, you will see displayed all the com-mands that are available at the moment of this request.Say the key words that correspond to the action that you wish carried out.If you should lose your way in the different levels of the voice command structure, say the word “Cancel” to bring you back to the voice commands at the previous level of the structure.However careful the user may be, the pre-recorded words or expressions will always be more easily recognised than words recorded by the user.
