ethylene-glycol. This product is
harmful if swallowed and causes
i r r i t a t i o n t o t h e e y e s . K e e p i t o u t
of reach of children.
T h e e x p i r y d a t e o f t h e fl u i d i s i n -
dicated on the cartridge.
The sealant cartridge is designed
for single use; even if only partly
used, it must be replaced.
To remove the cartridge, turn it
a quarter turn at its cap and pull
off.
After use, do not discard the car-
tridge into the environment, take
it to an authorised waste disposal
site or a CITROËN dealer.
Do not forget to obtain a new
sealant cartridge, available from
CITROËN dealers.
Connect the compressor's electric
plug to the vehicle's 12 V socket.
Start the vehicle again and leave the
engine running.
Adjust the pressure using the compres-
s o r ( t o i n fl a t e : s w i t c h B in position "1" ;
t o d e fl a t e : s w i t c h B in position "0" and
press button E ) , i n a c c o r d a n c e w i t h t h e
vehicle's tyre pressure label (located
o n t h e l e f t h a n d d o o r a p e r t u r e ) .
A loss of pressure indicates that the puncture has not been fully plugged;
contact a CITROËN dealer for as-
sistance.
Remove and stow the kit.
Drive at reduced speed (50 mph
[ 8 0 k m / h ] m a x ) l i m i t i n g t h e d i s t a n c e
travelled to approximately 120 miles
( 2 0 0 k m ) .
Go to a CITROËN dealer as
soon as a possible.
Have the tyre inspected by a technician, who can then
advise you whether it can
be repaired or should be re-
placed.

CHANGING A WHEEL
Procedure for changing a faulty wheel
for the spare wheel using the tools pro-
vided with the vehicle.
Access to the tools
The tools are installed in the boot under
t h e fl o o r .
T o g a i n a c c e s s t o t h e m :
open the boot,
r a i s e t h e fl o o r ,
remove the polystyrene storage box,
unclip and remove the box containing
the tools. Wheel with trim
When removing the wheel , fi r s t d e t a c h t h e t r i m u s i n g t h e w h e e l b r a c e 1
pulling at the valve passage hole.
W h e n r e fi t t i n g t h e w h e e l , r e fi t t h e t r i m s t a r t i n g b y p l a c i n g i t s c u t - o u t a t t h e
valve and press around its edge with the palm of your hand.
List of tools
A l l o f t h e s e t o o l s a r e s p e c i fi c t o y o u r
vehicle. Do not use them for other
purposes.
1. Wheelbrace.
Permits removal of the wheel trim a n d r e m o v a l o f t h e w h e e l fi x i n g
bolts.
2. Jack with integral handle.
Permits raising of the vehicle.
3. "Bolt cover" tool.
Permits removal of the bolt pro- t e c t o r s ( c o v e r s ) o n a l l o y w h e e l s .
4. Socket for the security wheel
b o l t s ( l o c a t e d i n t h e g l o v e b o x ) .
Permits adaptation of the wheel- brace to the special "security"
wheel bolts.

Access to the spare wheel
The spare wheel is installed in the boot
u n d e r t h e fl o o r .
According to country, the spare wheel may
be steel or of the "space saver" type.
To gain access to it, refer to the para-
graph "Access to the tools" on the previ-
ous page. Fitting the steel or "space-
saver" type spare wheel
I f y o u r v e h i c l e i s fi t t e d w i t h a l l o y
wheels, it is normal to notice,
w h e n t i g h t e n i n g t h e b o l t s o n fi t -
ting, that the washers do not
come into contact with the steel
or "space-saver" type spare
wheel. The wheel is secured by
the conical contact of each bolt. Taking out the wheel
Unscrew the yellow central bolt.
Raise the spare wheel towards you
from the rear.
Take the wheel out of the boot.
Putting the wheel back in place
Put the wheel back in its housing.
Unscrew the yellow central bolt by a
few turns then put it in place in the
centre of the wheel.
Tighten fully until the central bolt
clicks to retain the wheel correctly.
Put the box back in place in the centre
of the wheel and clip it.
Put the polystyrene storage box
back in place.

On vehicles equipped with a
"space-saver" type spare wheel,
the punctured wheel cannot be
stowed in place of the "space-
saver" wheel.

Removing the wheel
Parking the vehicle
Immobilise the vehicle where it
d o e s n o t b l o c k t r a f fi c : t h e g r o u n d
must be level, stable and not
slippery.
Apply the parking brake, switch
o f f t h e i g n i t i o n a n d e n g a g e fi r s t
gear * to lock the wheels.
If necessary, place a chock under
the wheel diagonally opposite the
wheel to be changed.
It is imperative that you ensure
that the occupants get out of the
vehicle and wait where they are
safe.
Never go underneath a vehicle
raised using a jack; use an axle
stand. List of operations
Remove the chromed bolt cover from
each of the bolts using the tool 3 .
Fit the security bolt socket 4 on the
wheelbrace 1 to slacken the security
bolt.
Slacken the other bolts using the
wheelbrace 1 only.
Place the jack 2 in contact with one
of the two front A or rear B locations
provided on the underbody, which-
ever is closest to the wheel to be
changed.
Extend the jack 2 until its base plate
is in contact with the ground. Ensure
that the centreline of the jack base
plate is directly below the location A
or B used.
Raise the vehicle until there is suf-
fi c i e n t s p a c e b e t w e e n t h e w h e e l a n d
the ground to admit the spare (not
p u n c t u r e d ) w h e e l e a s i l y .
Remove the bolts and store them in
a clean place.
Remove the wheel.

After changing a wheel
To store the punctured wheel in
t h e b o o t c o r r e c t l y , fi r s t r e m o v e
the central cover.
When using the "space-saver"
type temporary use spare wheel,
d o n o t e x c e e d 5 0 m p h ( 8 0 k m / h ) .
Have the tightening of the bolts
and the pressure of the spare
wheel checked by a CITROËN
dealer without delay.
Have the punctured wheel re-
paired and replace it on the vehicle
as soon as possible.
Do not drive with more than one
t e m p o r a r y u s e s p a r e w h e e l fi t t e d
to the vehicle at one time.
Fitting the wheel
List of operations
Put the wheel in place on the hub.
Screw in the bolts by hand.
Pre-tighten the security bolt using
the wheelbrace 1 fi t t e d w i t h t h e s e -
curity bolt socket 4 .
Pre-tighten the other bolts using the
wheelbrace 1 only.
Lower the vehicle fully.
Fold the jack 2 and detach it.
Tighten the security bolt using the
wheelbrace 1 fi t t e d w i t h t h e s e c u r i t y
bolt socket 4 .
Tighten the other bolts using the
wheelbrace 1 only.
R e fi t t h e c h r o m e d b o l t c o v e r s o n
each of the bolts.
Store the tools in the box.

In some climatic conditions (e.g.
l o w t e m p e r a t u r e o r h u m i d i t y ) ,
the presence of misting on the
internal surface of the glass of
the headlamps and rear lamps
is normal; it disappears after the
lamps have been on for a few
minutes. T h e h e a d l a m p s a r e fi t t e d w i t h
polycarbonate glass with a pro-
t e c t i v e c o a t i n g :
do not clean them using a
dry or abrasive cloth, nor
with a detergent or solvent
product,
use a sponge and soapy water,
when using a high pressure
washer on persistent marks,
do not direct at the lamps or
their outlines for too long, so
as not to damage their coat-
ing and their seals.
CHANGING A BULB
Procedure for replacing a faulty bulb
with a new bulb .
Do not touch the bulb directly
w i t h y o u r fi n g e r s , u s e l i n t -
free cloths.
Changing a halogen bulb should
only be done after the headlamp
has been switched off for a few
m i n u t e s ( r i s k o f s e r i o u s b u r n s ) .
It is imperative to use only anti-
u l t r a v i o l e t ( U V ) t y p e b u l b s i n o r d e r
not to damage the headlamp. Front lamps
1. Direction indicators
(PY21W amber).
2. Sidelamps (W5W).
3. Main beam headlamps (H1-55W).
4. Dipped beam headlamps
(H7-55W).

Changing direction indicator bulbs
Turn the bulb holder a quarter of a
turn and extract it.
Pull out the bulb and change it.

W h e n r e fi t t i n g , c l o s e t h e p r o t e c -
tive cover carefully to preserve
the sealing of the headlamp.
R a p i d fl a s h i n g o f t h e d i r e c t i o n
indicator warning lamp (right
o r l e f t ) i n d i c a t e s t h e f a i l u r e o f a
bulb on that side.
Amber coloured bulbs, such as
the direction indicators, must be
replaced with bulbs of identical
s p e c i fi c a t i o n s a n d c o l o u r .
Changing dipped beam headlamp
bulbs
Remove the protective cover by
pulling on the tab.
Disconnect the bulb connector.
Compress the springs to release the
bulb.
Extract the bulb and change it.

Changing main beam headlamp
bulbs
Remove the protective cover by
pulling on the tab.
Disconnect the bulb connector.
Spread the springs to release the
bulb.
Remove the bulb and change it.

verse order.
Changing sidelamp bulbs
Remove the protective cover by
pulling on the tab.
Pull the bulb holder pressing on the
tabs on both sides.
Pull the bulb and change it.

Changing front foglamp bulbs To obtain them, contact your
CITROËN dealer.
I f y o u e x p e r i e n c e a n y d i f fi c u l t y
in replacing bulbs, contact your
CITROËN dealer.
Access to the front foglamp is through
the aperture below the bumper.
Disconnect the black bulb holder
connector, by pressing on the tab at
the top.
Remove the bulb-holber by pressing
on the 2 clips (at the top and the bot-
t o m ) .
Replace the module.

Changing integrated direction
indicator side repeaters
Insert a screwdriver towards the
centre of the repeater between the
repeater and the base of the mirror.
Tilt the screwdriver to extract the re-
peater and remove it.
Disconnect the repeater connector.
Replace the module.

Contact a CITROËN dealer to
obtain replacement repeaters.

Rear lamps
1. Brake/sidelamps (P21/5W).

Reversing lamp right-hand side
(P21W). These four bulbs are changed from inside
t h e b o o t :
open the boot,
r e m o v e t h e a c c e s s fl a p f r o m t h e
corresponding side trim panel,
u n s c r e w t h e b u t t e r fl y n u t s e c u r i n g
the lamp unit,
unclip the lamp unit connector,
extract the lamp unit carefully pulling
in its middle towards the outside,
spread the four tabs and remove the
bulb holder,
turn the bulb a quarter of a turn and
change it.
T o r e fi t , c a r r y o u t t h e s e o p e r a t i o n s i n r e -
verse order.
Take care to engage the lamp unit in its
guides, while keeping it in line with the
vehicle.
Changing bulbs
Amber or red bulbs, such as
those for the direction indica-
tors and rear foglamp, must be
replaced by bulbs of the same
rating and colour.
The lamps on the tailgate are
dummy units. They are there for
aesthetic purposes only.

Changing the number plate lamp
bulbs (W5W)
Insert a thin screwdriver into one of
the outer holes of the lens.
Push it outwards to unclip.
Remove the lens.
Pull the bulb out and change it.
Open the boot.
Remove the plugs A on the inner
panel.
Push on the centre of the lamp using
two screwdrivers to lever it outwards.
Disconnect the connector and if
necessary the screenwash pipe
from the lamp.
Turn the bulb holder for the faulty
bulb a quarter of a turn.
Pull out the bulb and change it.
