COMFORT
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR VENTILATION AND AIR
CONDITIONING
In order for these systems to be fully effective, follow the operation and
maintenance guidelines below:
To obtain an even air distribution, take care not to obst ruct the exterior
air intake grilles located at the base of the windscreen, th e nozzles,
the vents and the air outlets, as well as the air extractor lo cated in the
boot.
Do not cover the sunshine sensor, located on the dashboard; this is
used for regulation of the air conditioning system.
Operate the air conditioning system for 5 to 10 minutes, on ce or twice a
month to keep it in perfect working order.
E n s u r e t h a t t h e p a s s e n g e r c o m p a r t m e n t fi l t e r i s i n g o o d c o n d i t i o n a n d h a v e
t h e fi l t e r e l e m e n t s r e p l a c e d r e g u l a r l y ( r e f e r t o t h e " C h e c k s " s e c t i o n ) .
W e r e c o m m e n d t h e u s e o f a c o m b i n e d p a s s e n g e r c o m p a r t m e n t fi l t e r .
T h a n k s t o i t s s p e c i a l a c t i v e a d d i t i v e , i t c o n t r i b u t e s t o t h e p u r i fi c a t i o n o f t h e a i r
breathed by the occupants and the cleanliness of th e passenger compart-
ment (reduction of allergic symptoms, bad odours an d greasy deposits).
To guarantee correct operation of the air conditioning syste m, you are
also advised to have it checked regularly.
If the system does not produce cold air, do not use it and contact a
CITROËN dealer.
When towing the maximum load on a steep gradient in high temperatures,
switching off the air conditioning permits the recovery of engi ne power and
therefore improvement of the towing capacity. If after an extended stop in sun-
shine, the interior temperature is
v e r y h i g h , fi r s t v e n t i l a t e t h e c a b i n
for a few moments.

ting high enough to quickly
change the air in the cabin.
The air conditioning system
does not contain chlorine and
does not present any danger to
the ozone layer.
The condensation created by
the air conditioning results in a
discharge of water under the
vehicle which is perfectly normal.

VISIBILITY To avoid causing a nuisance to other
road users, the height of the headlamps
should be adjusted in relation to the load
in the vehicle.

HEADLAMP ADJUSTMENT Coupling with the automatic
"Guide-me-home" lighting
Association with the automatic lighting
provides "guide-me-home" lighting with
the following additional options:
- selection of the lighting duration to
15, 30 or 60 seconds in the vehicle
parameters on the multifunction
s c r e e n c o n fi g u r a t i o n m e n u ( e x c e p t
in the case of the monochrome
screen A, for which the duration is
s e t : 6 0 s e c o n d s ) ,
- automatic activation of "guide-me- home" lighting when automatic lighting
is in operation.
Operating fault In fog or snow, the brightness
s e n s o r m a y d e t e c t s u f fi c i e n t
light. Therefore, the lighting will
not come on automatically.
Do not cover the brightness sen-
sor, coupled with the rain sensor
and located in the centre of the
windscreen behind the interior
mirror; the associated functions
would no longer be controlled.
In the event of a fault with
the brightness sensor,
the lighting come on, this
warning lamp is displayed
on the instrument panel and/or a mes-
sage appears on the multifunction screen,
accompanied by an audible signal.
Consult a CITROËN dealer.

Automatic windscreen wiping
The windscreen wipers operate auto-
matically, without any action on the part
of the driver, if rain is detected (sensor
b e h i n d t h e i n t e r i o r m i r r o r ) , a d a p t i n g t h e i r
speed to the intensity of the rainfall.
Activation
Switching off Operating fault
If an automatic wiping malfunction
occurs, the wipers will operate in inter-
mittent mode.
Have it checked by a CITROËN dealer. Special position of the
windscreen wipers
For optimum and lasting wiping
o f t h e " fl a t - b l a d e " w i p e r b l a d e s ,
it is advisable to:
- handle them with care,
- clean them regularly using soapy water,
- change them approximately every 6 months,
- avoid using them to retain cardboard on the windscreen.
Do not cover the rain sensor,
linked with the brightness sensor
and located in the centre of the
windscreen behind the interior
mirror.
Switch off the automatic wiping
when using an automatic car
wash.
In winter, it is advisable to wait
until the windscreen is completely
clear of ice before activating the
automatic wiping.
The automatic wiping must be re-
activated if the ignition has been
off for more than one minute, by
pushing stalk
A downwards.
In the minute following switching off of the
ignition, any action on the stalk positions
the wipers vertically.
This action enables you to position the
wiper blades for winter parking, cleaning
or replacement without damaging the
bonnet.
To park the wipers after this has been
done, switch on the ignition and operate
the stalk.
This is controlled manually by the driver by
pushing stalk
A to the "AUTO" position.
This is controlled manually by the driver
by moving stalk A upwards and returning
it to position "0" . It is accompanied by the indica-
tor lamp in the instrument panel
switching off and a message on
the multifunction screen.
It is accompanied by the lighting
of this indicator lamp in the in-
strument panel and a message
on the multifunction screen.

DRIVING
AUDIBLE AND/OR VISUAL
REAR PARKING ASSISTANCE
T h i s s y s t e m c o n s i s t s o f f o u r p r o x i m i t y
sensors, located in the rear bumper. Detection zone
This detects any obstacle (person, vehi-
c l e , t r e e , g a t e , e t c . ) b e h i n d t h e v e h i c l e ,
e x c e p t o b s t a c l e s l o c a t e d j u s t b e l o w t h e
bumper. An object, such as a stake, a
roadworks cone or any other simi-
lar object may be detected at the
beginning of the manoeuvre, but
may no longer be detected when
the vehicle comes close to it. The rear parking assistance sys-
tem cannot, in any circumstances,
take the place of the vigilance
and responsibility of the driver.
Activation
The system is activated as soon as re-
verse gear is engaged, accompanied
by an audible signal.
On completion of the manoeuvre, when
y o u e x i t r e v e r s e g e a r , t h e s y s t e m b e -
comes inactive.
T h e p r o x i m i t y i n f o r m a t i o n i s g i v e n b y :
- an audible signal, which becomes
more rapid as the vehicle approaches
the obstacle,
- a graphic on the multifunction screen, with blocks which become
increasingly closer to the vehicle.
When the distance between the rear of
the vehicle and the obstacle is less than
thirty centimetres, the audible signal
becomes continuous and the "Danger"
symbol appears on the multifunction
screen.

DRIVING
The system will be deactivated
automatically when towing a
trailer or when a bicycle carrier is
fi t t e d ( v e h i c l e fi t t e d w i t h a t o w b a r
or bicycle carrier recommended
b y C I T R O Ë N ) . In bad or wintry weather, ensure
that the sensors are not covered
with mud, frost or snow.
Programming
You can activate or deactivate the
system by means of the multifunction
s c r e e n c o n fi g u r a t i o n m e n u . T h e s y s t e m
state is memorised when switching off
the ignition.
Operating faults
If there is an operating fault, when
reverse gear is engaged the service
warning lamp comes on, accompanied
b y a n a u d i b l e s i g n a l ( s h o r t b e e p ) a n d a
message on the multifunction screen.
