As a safety precaution, do not leave:
- a child or children alone and un-supervised in a vehicle,
- a c h i l d o r a n a n i m a l i n a v e h i c l e w h i c h i s e x p o s e d t o t h e s u n , w i t h
the windows closed,
- t h e k e y s w i t h i n r e a c h o f c h i l d r e n inside the vehicle.
To prevent accidental opening of the
doors and rear windows, use the
" C h i l d l o c k " .

not travel in the "forwards-facing"
position on the front passenger seat,
unless the rear seats are already oc-
c u p i e d b y o t h e r c h i l d r e n , c a n n o t b e
u s e d o r a r e a b s e n t .
D e a c t i v a t e t h e p a s s e n g e r a i r b a g
when a "rearwards-facing" child seat
is installed on the front seat.
O t h e r w i s e , t h e c h i l d w o u l d r i s k b e i n g
s e r i o u s l y i n j u r e d o r k i l l e d i f t h e a i r b a g
w e r e t o i n fl a t e .
Installing a booster seat
T h e c h e s t p a r t o f t h e s e a t b e l t m u s t
b e p o s i t i o n e d o n t h e c h i l d ' s s h o u l d e r
w i t h o u t t o u c h i n g t h e n e c k .
Ensure that the lap part of the seat
b e l t p a s s e s c o r r e c t l y o v e r t h e c h i l d ' s
thighs.

When installing a child seat using the
s e a t b e l t , e n s u r e t h a t t h e s e a t b e l t i s
tightened correctly on the child seat
a n d t h a t i t s e c u r e s t h e c h i l d s e a t fi r m l y
on the seat of your vehicle.
F o r o p t i m u m i n s t a l l a t i o n o f t h e " f o r -
wards-facing" child seat, ensure that
t h e b a c k o f t h e c h i l d s e a t i s i n c o n t a c t
w i t h t h e b a c k o f t h e v e h i c l e ' s s e a t
and that the head restraint does not
c a u s e a n y d i s c o m f o r t .
I f t h e h e a d r e s t r a i n t h a s t o b e r e m o v e d ,
ensure that it is stored or attached se-
c u r e l y t o p r e v e n t i t f r o m b e i n g t h r o w n
around the vehicle in the event of
s h a r p b r a k i n g .

To attach this strap, raise the vehicle
s e a t ' s h e a d r e s t r a i n t t h e n p a s s t h e h o o k
b e t w e e n i t s r o d s . T h e n fi x t h e h o o k o n
ring B and tighten the upper strap.

Deactivation
O n l y t h e p a s s e n g e r ' s f r o n t a i r b a g c a n
be deactivated:
with the ignition off , i n s e r t t h e k e y
in the passenger airbag deactivation
switch 1 ,
t u r n i t t o t h e "OFF" p o s i t i o n ,
t h e n , r e m o v e t h e k e y k e e p i n g t h e
switch in the new position.
T h i s w a r n i n g l a m p c o m e s o n
i n t h e i n s t r u m e n t p a n e l w h e n
t h e i g n i t i o n i s o n a n d u n t i l t h e
airbag is re-activated. T o a s s u r e t h e s a f e t y o f y o u r c h i l d ,
t h e p a s s e n g e r ' s f r o n t a i r b a g
m u s t b e d e a c t i v a t e d w h e n y o u
install a "rear facing" child seat
on the front passenger seat.
O t h e r w i s e , t h e c h i l d w o u l d r i s k
b e i n g s e r i o u s l y i n j u r e d o r k i l l e d i f
the airbag were triggered.
Reactivation
W h e n y o u r e m o v e t h e c h i l d s e a t , t u r n
switch 1 to the "ON" position to re-acti-
v a t e t h e a i r b a g a n d s o a s s u r e t h e s a f e t y
o f y o u r f r o n t p a s s e n g e r i n t h e e v e n t o f
a n i m p a c t .
W i t h t h e i g n i t i o n o n , t h i s w a r n -
i n g l a m p c o m e s o n i n t h e i n s t r u -
m e n t p a n e l f o r a p p r o x i m a t e l y
o n e m i n u t e , i f t h e p a s s e n g e r ' s
front airbag is activated. Operating fault

n i e d b y a n a u d i b l e w a r n i n g a n d

DRIVING
Moving off
Apply the parking brake.
Select position P or N .
Start the engine.
If this procedure is not followed, an au-
dible signal is heard, accompanied by a
message on the multifunction screen.
With the engine running, press the
brake pedal.
Release the parking brake.
Select position R , D or M ,
Gradually release the brake pedal.
The vehicle moves off immediately. Automatic operation
Select position D for automatic
changing of the four gears.
T h e g e a r b o x t h e n o p e r a t e s i n a u t o -
adaptive mode, without any intervention
on the part of the driver. It continuously
selects the most suitable gear accor-
d i n g t o t h e s t y l e o f d r i v i n g , t h e p r o fi l e o f
the road and the load in the vehicle.
F o r m a x i m u m a c c e l e r a t i o n w i t h o u t
touching the lever, press the accelera-
tor pedal down fully (kick down). The
g e a r b o x c h a n g e s d o w n a u t o m a t i c a l l y
or maintains the gear selected until the
m a x i m u m e n g i n e s p e e d i s r e a c h e d .
O n b r a k i n g , t h e g e a r b o x c h a n g e s d o w n
a u t o m a t i c a l l y t o p r o v i d e e f fi c i e n t e n g i n e
braking.
If you release the accelerator sharply,
t h e g e a r b o x w i l l n o t c h a n g e t o a h i g h e r
gear for safety reasons. Sport and snow programmes
These two special programmes supple-
ment the automatic operation in very
s p e c i fi c c o n d i t i o n s o f u s e .
Sport programme "S"
Press button "S" , after starting the
engine.
T h e g e a r b o x a u t o m a t i c a l l y f a v o u r s a
dynamic style of driving.
Snow programme " "
Press button " ", after starting the
engine.
T h e g e a r b o x a d a p t s t o d r i v i n g o n s l i p -
pery roads.
This programme improves starting and
drive when traction is poor.
Return to automatic operation
At any time, press the button selected
again to quit the programme engaged
and return to auto-adaptive mode.
If position
N is engaged inadver-
tently while driving, allow the en-
gine to return to idle then engage
position D to accelerate.
Never select position N while the
vehicle is moving.
Never select positions P or R
unless the vehicle is completely
stationary.
When the engine is running at
idle, with the brakes released,
if position
R , D or M is selected,
the vehicle moves even without
the accelerator being pressed.
When the engine is running,
never leave children in the
vehicle without supervision.
When carrying out maintenance
with the engine running, apply
the parking brake and select
position P .
