children should travel in the rear
seats of your vehicle:
- "rearwards-facing" up to
the age of 2,
- "forwards-facing" over the
age of 2. * The rules for carrying children are

TO CHILD SEATS

teria when designing your vehicle, the
safety of your children also depends on
you.
F o r m a x i m u m s a f e t y , p l e a s e o b s e r v e
t h e f o l l o w i n g r e c o m m e n d a t i o n s :
- in accordance with European re- gulations, all children under the
age of 12 or less than one and a
half metres tall must travel in ap-
proved child seats suited to their
weight , o n s e a t s fi t t e d w i t h a s e a t
b e l t o r I S O F I X m o u n t i n g s * ,
- statistically, the safest seats in
your vehicle for carrying children
are the rear seats,
- a child weighing less than 9 kg
must travel in the "rearwards-
facing" position both in the front
and in the rear. "Forwards-facing"
When a "forwards-facing" child seat is
installed on the
front passenger seat ,

"Rearwards-facing"
When a "rearwards-facing" child seat is
installed on the
front passenger seat ,
i t i s e s s e n t i a l t h a t t h e p a s s e n g e r a i r b a g
i s d e a c t i v a t e d . O t h e r w i s e , the child
would risk being seriously injured or
k i l l e d i f t h e a i r b a g w e r e t o i n fl a t e .
