Maintenance
In the event of a fault with the system, the
"ECO OFF"
switch warning lamp flashes thencomes on continuously.
Have it checked by a CITROËN dealer or aqualified workshop.
In the event of a fault in STOP mode, the
vehicle ma
y stall. All of the instrument panel
warning lamps come on. It is then necessary
to switch o
ff the ignition and star t the engine
again using the key. This s
ystem requires a battery with a specialspecification and technology (reference numbers available from a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop).
Fitting a battery not listed by CITROËN
introduces the risk of malfunction of the system.
Press the "ECO OFF"switch again.
The system is active again; this is con
firmed
by the switch warning lamp going off,accompanied by a message in the screen.
Before doing anything under the bonnet,deactivate the Stop & Start system toavoid any risk of injury resulting from automatic operation of STA R T m o d e .
The system is reactivated automaticallyat every new star t using the key.
The Stop & Star t system makes use of advanced technology. All workon this type of battery must be doneby a CITROËN dealer or a qualifiedworkshop.

Hill start assist
System which holds your vehicle temporarily (approximately 2 seconds) when star ting on a slope, the time it takes to move your foot from
the brake pedal to the accelerator pedal.
This
function is only active when:
- the vehicle is completely stationary, with your foot on the brake pedal,
- cer tain conditions on a slope are met,
- with the driver’s door closed.
The hill start assist function cannot bedeactivated.
On an ascendin
g slope, with the vehicle
stationary, the vehicle is held momentarilywhen you release the brake pedal:- provided you are in automated mode(position A) or in manual mode (position AM )
on an electronic gearbox.
Operating fault
If a malfunction of the system occurs, these
warning lamps come on. Contact a CITROËN
dealer or a
qualified workshop to have the system checked. On a descendin
g slope, with the vehicle
stationary and reverse gear engaged, thevehicle is held momentarily when you
release the brake pedal.
Do not leave the vehicle while it is being held in the hill star t assist phase. If you need to leave the vehicle withthe engine running, manually applythe parking brake then ensure that the parking brake warning lamp is on (not
flashing) in the instrument panel.

to the "LIMIT"position: the speed limiter modeis selected but is not switched on (PAUSE).
You do not have to switch the s
peed limiter
on in order to set the speed.
Exceeding the programmed speed
Pressing the accelerator pedal to exceed the programmed speed will not have any effect unless you press the pedal firmlypast the point of resistance. The speed limiter is deactivated temporarily and the programmedspeed, which is still displayed, flashes.
Returning to the programmed speed, by means of intentional or
unintentional deceleration of the vehicle, automatically cancels theflashing of the programmed speed.
Leaving limiter mode
)Turn thumb wheel 1
to the "0"position: the speed limiter mode isdeselected. The display returns to the distance recorder.
Operating fault
In the event of a speed limiter fault, the speed
is cleared resulting in flashing of the dashes.
Have it checked by a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.
)Set the speed value by pressing button 2or 3(e.g.: 55 mph(90 km/h)).
You can then change the programmed speed using buttons 2 and 3:
- by + or - 1 mph (km/h) = shor t press,
- by + or - 5 mph (km/h) = long press,
- in steps of + or - 5 mph (km/h) = maintained press. )Switch the speed limiter on by pressing button 4
. )Switch the speed limiter off by pressing button 4
: the display confirms that it has been switched off (PAUS E). )Switch the speed limiter back on by pressing button 4
again.
On a steep descent or in the event of sharp acceleration, the speed limiter willnot be able to prevent the vehicle from exceeding the programmed speed.
To avoid any risk of jamming of the pedals:
- ensure that the mat is positioned correctly,
- do not fit one mat on top of another.

The cruise control cannot, in anycircumstances, replace the need to respect speed limits, nor can it replace the need for vigilance and responsibilityon the par t of the driver.
Cruise control
The cruise control is switched on
manually: itrequires a minimum vehicle speed of 25 mph(40 km/h), as well as the engagement of:
-
fourth gear on a manual gearbox,
- second gear on a or automatic or electronicgearbox, in sequential mode,
- position A
on an electronic gearbox or position D
on an automatic gearbox.
Th
e cruise control is switched offmanuallyfor by pressing the brake or clutch pedal or
on triggering of the ESP system for safety reasons.
It is possible to exceed the programmed speed
temporarily by pressing the accelerator pedal. To return to the programmed speed, simply release the accelerator pedal. Switching off the ignition cancels any programmed speed value.

)Set the programmed speed byaccelerating to the required speed,
then press button 2 or 3
(e.g.: 70 mph(11 0 k m / h)).
Exceeding the programmed speed
Intentional or unintentional exceeding of the programmed speed results
in flashing of this speed in the screen.
Return to the programmed speed, by means of intentional or
unintentional deceleration of the vehicle, automatically cancels theflashing of the speed.
Leaving cruise control mode

to the "0"position: the cruise control mode is
deselected. The display returns to the distance recorder.
)Switch off the cruise control by pressing button 4: the screenconfirms that it has been switched off (PAUS E).
)Switch the cruise control back on by pressing button 4again.
Operating fault
In the event of a cruise control malfunction,
the speed is cleared resulting in flashing of the
dashes. Have it checked by a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.
When the cruise control is switched on,be careful if you maintain the pressure on one of the programmed speedchanging buttons: this may result in avery rapid change in the speed of your vehicle. Do not use the cruise control on slippery roads or in heavy traffic. On a steep descent, the cruise control will not be able to prevent the vehicle from exceeding the programmed speed.
To avoid any risk of jamming of the pedals:
- ensure that the mat is positioned correctly,
- never fit one mat on top of another.
You can then change the programmed speed using buttons
2
and 3
:

Energy economy mode
Exiting economy mode
These functions are reactivated automaticallythe next time the vehicle is driven. )In order to resume the use of these
functions immediately, star t the engine and
let it run for a few minutes.
The time available to you will then be double
the period for which the engine is left running. However, this period will always be betweenfive and thir ty minutes.
Switching to economy mode
Once this period has elapsed, a message
appears on the multifunction screen indicating
that the vehicle has switched to economy mode
and the active functions are put on standby.
A flat battery prevents the engine from starting (refer to the corresponding paragraph).
If the telephone is being used at the same time on the eMyWay audionavigation system, it will be interrupted after 10 minutes. S
ystem which manages the period of use of certain functions to conserve a sufficient level
of charge in the battery.
After the engine has stopped, you canstill use functions such as the audio equipment, windscreen wipers, dippedbeam headlamps, cour tesy lamps, etc. for a
maximum combined period of thirty minutes. S
ystem which manages the use of cer tain
functions according to the level of chargeremaining in the battery.
When the vehicle is being driven, the loadreduction function temporarily deactivates certain functions, such as the air conditioning,
the heated rear screen...
The deactivated functions are reactivated automatically as soon as conditions permit.
Load reduction mode
This period may be greatly reduced if the battery is not fully charged.
