message displayed in the screen, such
as, for example:
- the opening of the doors, boot or
bonnet,
- the engine oil level,
- the remote control battery,
- the tyre pressures,
- saturation of the particle emission fi lter on
Diesel vehicles (see "Checks - § Checks/
Particle emissions fi lter").

Engine oil level indicator
The vehicle must be on level
ground and the engine must
have been off for more than
30 minutes for this level check to
be accurate.
Oil level correct
This is indicated by the fl ashing of
"OIL"
or the display of a specifi c mes-
sage in the instrument panel, coupled
with the service warning lamp and ac-
companied by an audible signal.
If the low oil level is confi rmed by a
check using the dipstick, the level must
be topped up to avoid damage to the
engine.
Oil level indicator error
Dipstick
Refer to the "Checks" section to locate
the dipstick and the oil fi ller cap on your
engine.
Oil level incorrect This is indicated by the fl ashing of
"OIL--"
or the display of a specifi c mes-
sage in the instrument panel. Contact a
CITROËN or a qualifi ed workshop.
There are 2 marks on the
dipstick:
- A
= max; never exceed
this level (risk of dam-
age to the engine),
- B
= min; top up the level
via the oil fi ller cap, us-
ing the correct grade of
oil for your engine.
This information is displayed for a few
seconds when the ignition is switched
on, at the same time as the service in-
formation.

Manual test in the central colour screen associated with
the satellite navigation system

of the confi gurable functions) and to
display the alerts log.
)
With the engine running, to start a
manual test, briefl y press the ".../000"
button on the instrument panel. The following information appears suc-
cessively in the instrument panel cen-
tral colour screen:
- engine oil level indicator (see corre-
sponding section),
- service indicator (see corresponding
section),
- under-infl ation detection (if your ve-
hicle is fi tted with this system; see
the "Safety" section),
- current warnings and alert messag-
es, if any (see corresponding sec-
tion for the warning lamp or system
concerned),
- status of confi gurable functions (see
"Multifunction screens").
This information also appears every
time the ignition is switched on (au-
tomatic test).

Quality of the fuel used for petrol engines
The petrol engines are perfectly com-
patible with E10 type petrol biofuels
(containing 10 % ethanol), conforming
to European standards EN 228 and
EN 15376.
E85 type fuels (containing up to 85 %
ethanol) are reserved exclusively for
vehicles marketed for the use of this
type of fuel (BioFlex vehicles). The
quality of the ethanol must comply with
European standard EN 15293.
For Brazil only, special vehicles are
marketed to run on fuels containing up
to 100 % ethanol (E100 type).
Quality of the fuel used for Diesel engines
The Diesel engines are perfectly com-
patible with biofuels which conform to
current and future European standards
(Diesel fuel which complies with stan-
dard EN 590 mixed with a biofuel which
complies with standard EN 14214)
available at the pumps (containing up
to 7 % Fatty Acid Methyl Ester).
The B30 biofuel can be used in cer-
tain Diesel engines; however, this use
is subject to strict application of the
special servicing conditions. Contact a
CITROËN dealer or a qualifi ed work-
shop.
The use of any other type of (bio)fuel
(vegetable or animal oils, pure or dilut-
ed, domestic fuel...) is strictly prohibited
(risk of damage to the engine and fuel
system).
Mechanical device which prevents fi ll-
ing the tank of a Diesel vehicle with
petrol. It avoids the risk of engine dam-
age that can result from fi lling with the
wrong fuel.
Located in the fi ller neck, the misfuel
prevention device appears when the
fi ller cap is removed.
Operation
When a petrol fi ller nozzle is introduced
into the fuel fi ller neck of your Diesel
vehicle, it comes into contact with the
fl ap. The system remains closed and
prevents fi lling.
Do not persist but introduce a Diesel
type fi ller nozzle.
It is still possible to use a fuel
can to fi ll the reservoir.
In order to ensure a good fl ow of
fuel, do not place the nozzle of
the fuel can in direct contact with
the fl ap of the misfuel prevention
device.
This equipment will become available
during the year. The petrol or Diesel engine of your ve-
hicle is fi tted with a catalytic converter,
a device which helps to reduce the level
of harmful emissions in the exhaust
gases.
For petrol engines, the use of un-
leaded fuel is compulsory.
The fi ller neck is narrower, admitting
unleaded petrol nozzles only.
Fuel supply cut-off
Your vehicle is equipped with a safety
device which cuts off the fuel supply in
the event of a collision.
