For optimum installation of the for ward facing child  seat,  ensure  that  the  back  of  the  child Â

Advice on child seats
Installing a booster
seat
Children at the frontThe incorrect installation of a child seat in a v ehicle  compromises  the  child's  protection  in Â
t
he  event  of  an  accident.
Ensure that there is no seat belt or seat belt
buckle
under  the  child  seat,  as  this  could Â
de
stabilise
 i
t.
Remember
to  fasten  the  seat  belts  or  the Â
c
hild  seat  harnesses  keeping  the  slack Â
r
elative  to  the  child's  body  to  a  minimum, Â
e
ven  for  short  journeys.
When
installing  a  child  seat  using  the  seat Â
b
elt,  ensure  that  the  seat  belt  is  tightened Â
c
orrectly  on  the  child  seat  and  that  it  secures Â
t
he  child  seat  firmly  on  the  seat  of  your Â
v
ehicle.  If  your  passenger  seat  is  adjustable, Â
m
ove  it  for wards  if  necessary. The
legislation  on  carrying  children  on  the Â
f
ront  passenger  seat  is  specific  to  each Â
c
ountry.  Refer  to  the  legislation  in  force  in Â
y
our  country.
Deactivate
the  passenger  airbag  when  a Â
r
ear ward  facing  child  seat  is  installed  on  the Â
f
ront  seat.
Other wise,
the  child  would  risk  being Â
s
eriously  injured  or  killed  if  the  airbag  were Â
t
o  inflate.The
chest  part  of  the  seat  belt  must  be Â
p
ositioned  on  the  child's  shoulder  without Â
t
ouching  the  neck.
Ensure that the lap part of the seat belt
passes
 correctly  over  the  child's  thighs.
CITROËN
recommends  the  use  of  a  booster Â
s
eat  which  has  a  back,  fitted  with  a  seat  belt Â
g
uide  at  shoulder  level.
As
a  safety  precaution,  do  not  leave:
-
Â
a
child  or  children  alone  and Â
u
nsupervised  in  a  vehicle,
-
Â
a
child  or  an  animal  in  a  vehicle  which Â
i
s  exposed  to  the  sun,  with  the  windows Â
c
losed,
-
Â
t
he  keys  within  reach  of  children  inside Â
t
he  vehicle.
At
rear  seating  positions,  always  leave Â
s
ufficient  space  between  the  front  seat  and:
-
Â
a
 rear ward  facing  child  seat,
-
Â
t
he  child's  feet  for  a  child  seat  fitted Â
fo
rward
 f
acing.
To
do  this,  move  the  front  seat  for wards Â
a
nd,  if  necessary,  move  its  backrest  into  the Â
u
pright
 p
osition. To
prevent  accidental  opening  of  the  doors Â
a
nd  rear  windows,  use  the  child  lock.
Take
care  not  to  open  the  rear  windows  by Â
m
ore  than  one  third.
To
protect  young  children  from  the  rays  of  the Â
s
un,  fit  side  blinds  on  the  rear  windows.
