Sit in a normal upright position.
W ear  a  correctly  adjusted  seat  belt.
Do
not  leave  anything  between  the Â
o
ccupants  and  the  airbags  (a  child,  pet, Â
o
bject...),  nor  fix  or  attach  anything  close  to Â
t
he  inflation  trajectory  of  the  airbags;  this Â
c
ould  cause  injuries  during  their  deployment.
Never
modify  the  original  definition  of  your Â
v
ehicle, particularly in the area directly
around
 the  airbags.
After an accident or if the vehicle has been
stolen
or  broken  into,  have  the  airbag Â
s
ystems  checked.
All
work  on  the  airbag  system  must  be Â
c
arried out by a CITROËN dealer or a
qualified
 w
orkshop.
Even
if  all  of  the  precautions  mentioned Â
a
re  observed,  a  risk  of  injury  or  of  minor Â
b
urns  to  the  head,  chest  or  arms  when  an Â
a
irbag  is  deployed  cannot  be  ruled  out.  The Â
b
ag  inflates  almost  instantly  (within  a  few Â
m
illiseconds)  then  deflates  within  the  same Â
t

rovided  for  this  purpose.Front airbags
Do not drive holding the steering wheel by its spokes  or  resting  your  hands  on  the  centre Â
p
art  of  the  wheel.
Passengers
must  not  place  their  feet  on  the Â
das
hboard.
Do
not  smoke  as  deployment  of  the  airbags Â

Â
the
Â
steering
Â
wheel
Â
or
 h
it  it  violently.
Do
not  fit  or  attach  anything  to  the  steering Â
w
heel,  the  dashboard  or  the  passenger's Â
s
un  visor  as  this  could  cause  injuries  with Â
d
eployment  of  the  airbags.
Advice
Lateral airbags
Use only approved covers on the seats,
compatible with  the  deployment  the  lateral Â
a
irbags.  For  information  on  the  range  of  seat Â
c
overs suitable for your vehicle, you can
contact
 a  CITROËN dealer.
For
more  information  on  accessories,  refer Â
t
o  the  corresponding  section.
Do
not  fix  or  attach  anything  to  the  seat Â
b
acks  (clothing...).  This  could  cause  injury Â
t
o  the  chest  or  arms  if  the  lateral  airbag  is Â
d
eployed.
Do not sit with the upper part of the body any
nearer
 to  the  door  than  necessary.
Curtain airbags
Do not fix or attach anything to the roof. This could  cause  injury  to  the  head  if  the  curtain Â
a
irbag  is  deployed.
If
fitted  on  your  vehicle,  do  not  remove  the Â
g
rab  handles  installed  on  the  roof,  they  play Â
a
part  in  securing  the  curtain  airbags.
For the airbags to be fully effective, observe the safety recommendations below:

General points
Lead-acid starter batteries
Batteries contain harmful substances such  as  sulphuric  acid  and  lead.
They
must  be  disposed  of  in Â
a
ccordance  with  regulations  and  must Â
n
ot,  in  any  circumstances,  be  discarded Â
w
ith  household  waste.
Take
used  remote  control  batteries  and Â
v
ehicle batteries to a special collection
point.
With
an  electronic  gearbox,  do  not  try  to Â
s
tart  the  engine  by  pushing  the  vehicle. The
(-)  battery  terminal  is  not  accessible.
A
remote  earth  point  is  located  on  the  right-
hand
 front  wing.

Charging the battery using
a battery charger
For optimum service life of the battery, it is essential  to  maintain  an  adequate  state  of Â
c
harge.
In
some  circumstances  it  may  be  necessary  to Â
c
harge  the  battery:
-
i
f you use your vehicle essentially for short
journeys,
-
Â
i
f  the  vehicle  is  to  be  taken  off  the  road  for Â
s
everal  weeks.
Contact
 a  CITROËN  dealer  or  a  qualified Â
w
orkshop. It is not necessary to disconnect the
battery.
Never
try  to  charge  a  frozen  battery.
If the battery has been frozen, have
it
checked  by  a  CITROËN  dealer  or  a Â
q
ualified  workshop,  who  will  check  that Â
t
he  internal  components  have  not  been Â
d
amaged  and  the  casing  is  not  cracked, Â
w
hich  could  cause  a  leak  of  toxic  and Â
c
orrosive  acid.
If
you  envisage  charging  your  vehicle's Â
b
attery  yourself,  use  only  a  charger Â
c
ompatible  with  lead-acid  batteries  of  a Â
n
ominal  voltage  of  12  V.
If this label is present, it is essential
to
 use  only  a  12  V  charger,  to  avoid Â
c
ausing  irreversible  damage  to  the Â
e
lectrical  components  related  to  the Â
S
top  &  Start  system. Follow the instructions for use provided
by
 the  manufacturer  of  the  charger.
Never

QUESTIONANSWER SOLUTION
There is a difference in
sound
Â
quality  between  the Â
d
ifferent  audio  sources. For
optimum  sound  quality,  the  audio  settings  for  Loudness, Â
A
mbience,  Treble,  Bass,  Volume  can  be  adapted  to  the  different Â
s
ound  sources,  which  may  result  in  audible  differences  when Â
c
hanging
 s
ource. Check
that  the  audio  settings  for  Loudness, Â
A
mbience,  Treble,  Bass,  Volume)  are  adapted Â
t
o  the  sources  listened  to.  Adjust  Balance, Â
T
reble,  Bass  to  the  middle  position,  select  the Â
"
None"  musical  ambience  and  set  the  loudness Â
c
orrection  to  the  "Active"  position  in  CD  mode  or Â
t
o  the  "Inactive"  position  in  radio  mode.
With
Â
the  engine  off,  the Â

ystem
Â
switches  off  after  a Â

Â
minutes  of  use. When
the  engine  is  switched  off,  the  system's  operating  time Â
d
epends  on  the  state  of  charge  of  the  battery.
The
switch-off  is  normal:  the  system  switches  to  economy  mode  and Â
s
witches  off  to  prevent  discharging  of  the  vehicle's  battery.Start
the  vehicle's  engine  to  increase  the  battery Â
