Activation

Windscreen wash
Pull the wiper stalk towards you. The windscreen wash, then the windscreen
wipers,
 operate  for  a  pre-determined  time.
Your vehicle is fitted with an innovative
windscreen
 wash  system.
The screenwash fluid is sprayed all
along
 the  length  of  the  wiper  blade,  so Â

voiding  impairment  of  the  driver's  view Â

r  that  of  the  passengers.

It has 3 positions:

Ignition switch
Switching off the engine leads to a loss o
f  braking  assistance.
Ignition on position (2)
It allows the use of the vehicle's electric equipment  or  portable  devices  to  be  charged.
Once
 the  state  of  charge  of  the  battery  drops Â
t
o  the  reserve  level,  the  system  switches  to Â
e
nergy  economy  mode:  the  power  supply  is Â
c
ut  off  automatically  to  preserve  the  remaining Â
b
attery  charge.
Avoid
 attaching  heavy  objects  to  the Â
k
ey,  which  would  weigh  down  on  its Â
b
lade  in  the  ignition  switch  and  could Â
c
ause  a  malfunction.
It
 could  adversely  affect  the  deployment Â
o
f  the  front  airbag.

If the key has been left in the ignition switch at position 2 (Ignition on) ,

Hill start assist
System which keeps your vehicle immobilised temporarily  (approximately  2  seconds)  when Â

tarting  on  a  gradient,  the  time  it  takes  to Â
m
ove  your  foot  from  the  brake  pedal  to  the Â
a
ccelerator
 ped
al.
This
 system  only  operates  when:
-

t
he  vehicle  is  completely  stationary,  with Â
y
our  foot  on  the  brake  pedal,
-
Â
c
ertain  conditions  of  slope  are  met,
-
Â
w
ith  the  driver’s  door  closed.
The
 hill  start  assist  system  cannot  be Â
d
eactivated. On an ascending slope, with the vehicle
stationary, the vehicle is held momentarily
when you release the brake pedal, provided
that:

ou  are  in  first  gear  or  neutral  with  a Â
m
anual
 g
earbox,
-
y
ou are in position D with an electronic
gearbox.Operation
On a descending slope, with the vehicle
stationary and reverse gear engaged, the
vehicle is held momentarily when you
release the brake pedal.
Operating fault
If a fault in the system occurs, these warning l amps  come  on,  accompanied  by  an  alert Â
m
essage.  Contact  a  CITROËN  dealer  or Â
a
 qualified  workshop  to  have  the  system Â

hecked.

Stop & Start
Operation
Going into engine STOP
mode
The "ECO" warning  lamp  comes  on i
n  the  instrument  panel  and  the  engine g
oes  into  standby  automatically:

ith a manual gearbox , when stationary,
in neutral, and you release the clutch
pedal.

ith an electronic gearbox , when
stationary
 or  at  speeds  below  5  mph Â
(
8 km/h)  (depending  on  version),  in  neutral Â

 or  when  you  press  the  brake Â
ped
al. Never
 refuel  with  the  engine  in  STOP Â

ode;  you  must  switch  off  the  ignition.
