Comfort
It permits the connection of a portable device,
such as a digital audio player of the iPod ® or
USB memory stick type.
Open the front armrest cover for access to
the port.
It reads certain audio file formats allowing them
to be heard via the vehicle's speakers.
You can manage these files using the steering
mounted controls or the audio system control
panel.
For more information on the use of this
equipment, see "Audio and Telematics".
USB port
Connected to the USB port, the
portable device charges automatically
while in use.
Auxiliary socket
(AUX)
It is used to connect a portable device
(MP3 player...).
Open the front armrest cover for access to the
socket.

Using the USB port
With the vehicle stationary, ignition
switch in the LOCK
position, connect a
suitable cable to the portable player.
The USB port is used to connect a portable device (MP3 player,
Apple
® player, ...). The fi les are sent from the player to your audio
system and heard through the vehicle's speakers.
Then connect the cable to the vehicle's
USB port.
Models supported:
- iPod touch ® : FW version 1.1.1 or later.
- iPod classic ® : FW version 1.0 or later.
- iPod 5 th generation ®
: FW version 1.2.2 or later.
- iPod nano 5 th generation ®
: FW version 1.2 or later.
- iPod nano 2 nd generation ®
: FW version 1.1.2 or later.
- Compatible USB mass storage device: 256 Mb capacity or greater.
File formats: MP3, WMA, AAC, WAV.
Maximum number of levels (including root): 8.
Number of folders: 700.
Number of fi les: 65 535.
Do not connect the portable device directly to the USB port, use a
cable.
To disconnect the cable, the ignition switch must be in the LOCK
position.
Navigation in the fi le base is done via the portable device / iPod
®
.
Take care not to trap the cable when closing the armrest.

Connecting APPLE ®
players
Connect the Apple ®
player to the USB port using a suitable cable
(not supplied).
Play starts automatically.
Control is via the audio system.
The classifi cations available are those of the portable device
connected (artists / albums / genres / playlists / audiobooks /
podcasts).
The default classifi cation used is by artist. To modify the classifi cation
used, return to the fi rst level of the menu then select the desired
classifi cation (playlists for example) and confi rm to go down through
the menu to the desired track.
The "Shuffl e tracks" mode on an iPod
®
corresponds to the "Random"
mode on the audio system.
The "Shuffl e albums" mode on an iPod
®
corresponds to the "Random
all" on the audio system.
"Shuffl e tracks" is restored by default on each connection.
The version of software in the audio system may not be compatible
with the generation of your Apple
® player.

Playing the tracks on a portable player (USB)
Connect the portable player, then select " USB
".
Press the MENU
button to display the choice
of source.
Use the " Track
" button to select the previous /
next track.

" for fast back or
forwards.

to modify the track play mode:
" Repeat
": plays the current track repeatedly in
a loop.

": plays the start of each track for around
10 seconds.

": plays all of the tracks in
the current folder in random order.

": settings for balance, the

": checks the version of

" to display the list of folders.
Press on a folder to run through the tracks.

Press the DISP
button for more than
two seconds to activate the ID3 Tag
information. "TAG" appears in the
screen.
Press the DISP
button repeatedly; the
Tag ID3 information appears in the
following order:
ALBUM NAME / TRACK NAME /
ARTIST NAME / NORMAL DISPLAY
MODE.
To deactivate this information, press
the DISP
button again for more than
two seconds.
If the information exceeds
12 characters, press the PAGE
button
to see the rest.
In the absence of MP3 or ID3
Tag information to be displayed,
"NOTITLE" appears in the screen.
On CD-R/RWs, the quality of the playing sound depends on the
encoding software, the burning device and the burning speed used.
Depending on the fl ow chart of the MP3 folders and fi les on the
disc, play may not begin immediately.
MUSIC MEDIA PLAYERS
Using the auxiliary input (AUX)
The auxiliary socket, JACK or RCA,
permits the connection of portable
equipment (MP3 player...).
Do not connect a single piece of equipment via the USB port and
the JACK socket at the same time.
Connect the portable equipment (MP3 player…) to the JACK
socket or to the RCA-type audio sockets (white and red) using a
suitable cable, not supplied.
Press the MEDIA
button for more
than two seconds.
"AUX" appears in the screen and the
external mode is activated.
Press MEDIA
again to deactivate
the AUX
mode and change to
another mode.

ERROR MESSAGES
If an error message appears on the screen, refer to the table below to fi nd out what it means and the solution to be applied in order to
rectify it.

CHECK DISC Disc not inserted correctly.
Disc has condensation on its surface. Insert the disc with the printed face upwards.
Clear the dampness off the disc.
DISC ERROR Disc dirty, scratched or distorted. Clean or replace the disc.
INTERNAL The player has malfunctioned for some reason. Check that there is no problem with the disc and insert another
disc. If the problem persists, contact a CITROËN dealer.
HEAT ERROR The temperature inside the unit is too high. Remove the disc and wait until the temperature of the unit returns
to normal.
USB
FILE ERROR The fi les selected cannot be read. Select fi les that can be read: MP3/WMA/AAC.
USB BUS PWR External power supply fault. Switch the system off and on again. If the problem persists,
contact a CITROËN dealer.
LSI ERROR Communication error between the the audio system and the
external device.
UNSUPPORTED The fi les selected cannot be read. Select fi les that can be read: MP3/WMA/AAC.

ERROR DC An abnormal direct current has been sent to the speakers. Switch the system off and on again. If the problem persists,
