Rear screen demist - defrost
Switching on
The rear screen demisting/defrosting can only
operate when the engine is running.
Switching off
The demisting/defrosting switches off
automatically to prevent an excessive
consumption of current.

I
t is possible to stop the demisting/
defrosting operation before it is switched
off automatically by pressing the button
again. The indicator lamp associated with
the button goes off.

S
witch off the demisting/defrosting of the
rear screen and door mirrors as soon as
appropriate, as lower current consumption
results in reduced fuel consumption.
The control button is located on the air conditioning system control panel.

ress this button to demist /defrost
the rear screen and (depending
on version) the door mirrors. The
indicator lamp associated with the
button comes
on.

Mat
When removing the mat on the driver's side,
move back the seat as far as possible and
remove the fixings.
When refitting, position the mat correctly on the
pins and clip the fixings. Check that the mat is
secured firmly.
To prevent any risk of jamming under the
pedals:

nly use mats suited to the fixings already
present in the vehicle; it is imperative that
these fixings are used.
-
n
ever fit one mat on top of another.
Sun visor Glove box
It has dedicated locations for storing a water
bottle, the vehicle's handbook pack...

o open the glove box, raise the handle.
It is illuminated when the lid is opened.
It houses the front passenger airbag
deactivation switch A.
If the vehicle is fitted with air conditioning,
it has a ventilation nozzle B , distributing the
same conditioned air as the vents in the
passenger compartment.
If your vehicle is fitted with the "Keyless Entry
and Starting" system, it contains the back-up
starting unit C .
The sun visors fold for wards, and to the side
when they are unhooked.
They are fitted with a courtesy mirror and a
ticket holder.

Portable ashtray
F Pull the cover to open the ashtray.
F T o empty it, remove the ashtray by pulling it
upwards.
Cigarette lighter /
1 2 V accessory
socket
F To use the cigarette lighter, press it in
and wait a few seconds until it pops out
automatically.
F
T
o connect a 12 V accessory (max power:
120 W), remove the cigarette lighter and
connect a suitable adaptor.
You can use this socket to connect a telephone
charger, a bottle warmer...
After use, put the cigarette lighter
back into
place straight away.

Front armrest
Pull the right-hand lever to open the storage
compartment lid, which serves as an armrest.
To close, fold down the lid until it locks.Pull the left-hand lever to open the lid.
To close, fold down the lid until it locks.
This storage compartment may contain up
to 3 accessory sockets.This operates when the ignition switch is in the
"LOCK", "ACC" or "ON" position.
Open the cover of the front armrest to gain
access to the socket.

Check that the electrical equipment
operates on 12 V and that its maximum
electrical power is 120 W.
The prolonged use of electrical
equipment without running the engine
may discharge the battery.

It permits the connection of a portable device,
such as a digital audio player of the iPod® or
USB memory stick type.
Open the front armrest cover for access to
the
po
rt.
It reads certain audio file formats allowing them
to be heard via the vehicle's speakers.
You can manage these files using the steering
mounted controls or the audio system control
panel. For more information on the use of this
equipment, see "Audio and Telematics".
USb port
Connected to the USB port, the
portable device charges automatically
while in use.
Auxiliary sockets

They are used to connect a portable device
(MP3 player...).
Open the front armrest cover for access to the
sockets.

Rear parcel shelfStowing rings
There are four stowing rings in the boot for
securing luggage:

wo rings are located on the boot floor,

wo rings are located on the rear side
pillars.
To remove the shelf:

nhook the two cords,

aise the shelf slightly, then remove it.
There are several options for storing the shelf:

ither upright behind the front seats,

r flat at the base of the boot.

Starting - stopping the engine with the key

Ignition switch
If you use the accessories for a
prolonged period (with the key in
position 2 (ACC) ), you risk discharging
the battery. Starting your vehicle will
then no longer be possible. Be aware .
See the "Automatic power cut-off to
accessories" section.
Key in ignition
A buzzer sounds on opening the
driver's door, if the key has been left in
the ignition.

nsert the key in the ignition switch.

urn the key to position
2 (ACC) and unlock
the steering column, by turning wheel
s li g ht l y.

ress and hold the brake pedal.

ully depress the clutch pedal (vehicles
fitted with a manual gearbox).

ut the gear lever into neutral (vehicles
fitted with a manual gearbox), or in
position
P (vehicles fitted with a CVT
gearbox).

perate the starter by turning the key to
position 4 (S TA R T ) .
F
O
nce the engine is running, release
the
key.

he key returns automatically to
position

(ON)
.
Starting using the key Stopping
F Immobilise the vehicle.

P ut the gear lever into neutral (vehicles
fitted with a manual gearbox), or in

P (vehicles fitted with a CVT
gearbox).

hile pressing the key, turn it to
position
1 (LOCK).

emove the key from the ignition switch.

L
ock the steering.Do not attach any heavy objects to the
key as this could weigh down on it when
in the ignition switch and cause a fault.
For Diesel vehicles, when the engine
is cold wait with the ignition switch
in position 3 (ON) until the preheater
warning lamp goes off, before turning
the key to position 4 (S TA R T ) .
The warning lamp does not come on
when the engine is hot. Switching off the engine leads to a loss
of braking assistance.
