Going into engine START mode
The "ECO" warning lamp goes off a

mode is invoked automatically when:
- y ou open the the driver's door,
-
y
ou unfasten the driver's seat belt,
-
t
he speed of the vehicle exceeds 7 mph
(
11 km/h) with an electronic gearbox,
-
s
ome special conditions (battery charge,
e
ngine temperature, braking assistance,
a
mbient temperature...) where the engine is
n
eeded for control of a system.
Special cases: START invoked
automatically
In this case the "ECO" warning lamp f
lashes for a few seconds, then goes
o
f f.
This operation is perfectly normal. Before
doing anything under the
b
onnet, deactivate the Stop & Start
system to avoid any risk of injury
r
esulting from automatic operation of
S
TART mode.
This system requires a 12 V battery with a
s
pecial specification and technology (reference
n
umbers available from CITROËN dealers).
Fitting a battery not listed by CITROËN
i
ntroduces the risk of malfunction of the
s
ystem.
For charging, use a 12 V charger and do not r
everse the polarity.
Maintenance
The Stop & Start system makes use of a
dvanced technology. For any work on
t
he system go to a qualified workshop
w
ith the skills and equipment required,
w
hich a CITR
oËn
dealer is able to
provide.

In good or rainy weather, both day and night, the front foglamps and the
r
ear foglamp are prohibited. In these
s
ituations, the power of their beams
m
ay dazzle other drivers. They should
o
nly be used in fog or snow.
In these weather conditions, it is your
responsibility
to switch on the foglamps
a
nd dipped beam headlamps manually
a
s the sunshine sensor may detect
s
ufficient light.
Do
not forget to switch off the front
f
oglamps and the rear foglamp when
t
hey are no longer necessary.Switching off the lamps
when the ignition is
switched off
On switching off the ignition, all of the lamps turn off immediately, except for dipped beam i
f guide-me-home lighting is activated.
Switching on the lamps
after the ignition is
switched off
To reactivate the lighting control, rotate the ring to the "0" position - lamps off,
t
hen to the desired position.
On
opening the driver's door a
t
emporary audible signal warns the
d
river that the lighting is on.
The
lamps, with the exception of the
s
idelamps, switch off automatically after
a
maximum duration of thirty minutes to
p
revent discharging of the battery.

Sit in a normal upright position.
W ear a correctly adjusted seat belt.
Do
not leave anything between the
o
ccupants and the airbags (a child, pet,
o
bject...). This could hamper the operation of
t
he airbags or injure the occupants.
af
ter an accident or if the vehicle has been
stolen
or broken into, have the airbag
s
ystems checked.
All
work on the airbag system must be
c
arried out by a CITR
oËn
dealer or a
qualified
w
orkshop.
Even
if all of the precautions mentioned
a
re observed, a risk of injury or of minor
b
urns to the head, chest or arms when an
a
irbag is deployed cannot be ruled out.
T
he bag inflates almost instantly (within
a
few milliseconds) then deflates within
t
he same time discharging the hot gas via
o
penings provided for this purpose.Front airbags
Do not drive holding the steering wheel by its spokes or resting your hands on the centre
p
art of the wheel.
Passengers
must not place their feet on the
das
hboard.
Do
not smoke as deployment of the airbags
c
an cause burns or the risk of injury from a
c
igarette or pipe.
Never
remove
or
pierce
the
steering
wheel
or
h
it it violently.
Do
not fit or attach anything to the steering
w
heel or dashboard, this could cause
injuries
with deployment of the airbags.
For the airbags to be fully effective, observe the following safety rules: Lateral airbags
Use only approved covers on the seats,
compatible with the deployment the lateral
a
irbags. For information on the range of seat
c
overs suitable for your vehicle, you can
contact
a CITROËN dealer.
Refer
to the "Accessories" section.
Do
not fix or attach anything to the seat
b
acks (clothing...). This could cause injury
t
o the chest or arms if the lateral airbag is
d
eployed.
do n
ot sit with the upper part of the body any
nearer
to the door than necessary.
Curtain airbags
Do not fix or attach anything to the roof. This could cause injury to the head if the curtain
a
irbag is deployed.
If
fitted on your vehicle, do not remove the
g
rab handles installed on the roof, they play
a
part in securing the curtain airbags.
