Wait until this warning lamp goes off in the instrument  panel  then  operate  the  starter m
otor  by  turning  the  key  to  position 3
without
 pressing  the  accelerator  pedal,

ntil  the  engine  starts.  Once  the  engine  is

unning,  release  the  key.
In wintry conditions, the warning lamp can  stay  on  for  a  longer  period.  When Â
t
he  engine  is  hot,  the  warning  lamp Â

oes  not  come  on. In
 temperate  conditions,  do  not  leave Â
t
he  engine  at  idle  to  warm  up  but  move Â
o
ff  straight  away  and  drive  at  moderate Â
s
peed.
Never  leave  the  engine  running  in Â
a
n  enclosed  area  without  adequate Â
v
entilation:
 in
ternal

ombustion

ngines  emit  toxic  exhaust  gases, Â
s
uch  as  carbon  monoxide.  Danger  of  i
ntoxication  and  death.
In  very  severe  wintry  conditions Â
(
temperatures  below  -23°C),  to  ensure Â
t
he  correct  operation  and  durability  of Â
t
he  mechanical  components  of  your Â
v
ehicle,  engine  and  gearbox,  it  is Â
n
ecessary  to  leave  the  engine  running Â
f
or  4  minutes  before  moving  off.
If
 the  engine  does  not  start  straight Â
a
way,  switch  off  the  ignition.  Wait  a  few Â
m
oments  before  operating  the  starter Â
m
otor  again.  If  the  engine  does  not Â
s
tart  after  several  attempts,  do  not  keep Â
t
rying:  you  risk  damaging  the  starter Â
m
otor  or  the  engine.

Operation
Gear efficiency indicator
System which reduces fuel consumption by advising the driver to change up, on vehicles fitted with a manual gearbox.
T he  system  adapts  its  gear  change Â

ecommendation  according  to  the Â

riving  conditions  (slope,  load, ...)  and Â
t
he  demands  of  the  driver  (power, Â
a
cceleration,  braking, ...).
The
 system  never  suggests:

ear,

ngaging  a  lower  gear.
Example:

Depending
 on  the  driving  situation  and  your Â

ehicle's  equipment,  the  system  may  advise Â

ou  to  skip  one  (or  more)  gear(s).  You  can Â

ollow  this  instruction  without  engaging  the Â

ntermediate

ears.

The

earbox,  the  system  may  suggest Â

he  instrument  panel)  so  that  the  engine Â

an  go  into  standby  (STOP  mode Â

ith  Stop  &  Start),  in  certain  driving Â

onditions.
The
 gear  engagement  recommendations  must Â
n
ot  be  considered  compulsory.  In  fact,  the Â
c
onfiguration  of  the  road,  the  amount  of  traffic Â
a
nd  safety  remain  determining  factors  when Â
c
hoosing  the  best  gear.  Therefore,  the  driver Â
r
emains  responsible  for  deciding  whether  or  not Â
t
o  follow  the  advice  given  by  the  system.
This
 system  cannot  be  deactivated.

To
 refuel  in  complete  safety:

pen  the  filler  flap.

eminds  you  of  the  type  of  fuel  to  use, Â

epending  on  your  engine  type.
Additions
 of  fuel  must  be  of  at  least  5  litres  to Â

e  registered  by  the  fuel  gauge.
When

first  comes  on,  about 5 litres of fuel
remain

Until

sufficient  fuel  has  been  added,  this Â

Refuel

ir.  This  is  entirely  normal  and  results  from  the Â

ealing  of  the  fuel  system.
With Stop & Start, never refuel with the
system
 in  STOP  mode;  you  must  switch Â
o
ff  the  ignition  with  the  key.

elps  to  reduce  the  level  of  harmful  emissions Â

n  the  exhaust  gases.
For petrol engines, you must use unleaded
fuel.
The  filler  neck  is  narrower,  allowing  only Â

nleaded  petrol  nozzles  to  be  introduced.
Your  vehicle  is  equipped  with  a  safety  device Â
w
hich cuts off the fuel supply in the event of a
collision.

Coolant level
The coolant level should be close to  the  "MA X"  mark  but  should  never Â
