Reverse gear
When reverse gear is engaged, the
rear wiper will come into operation if
the windscreen wipers are operating.
Programming The function is activated
or deactivated via the
multifunction screen

This function is activated
by default.
Windscreen and headlamp
wash
Pull the windscreen wiper stalk
towards you. The windscreen
wash then the windscreen wip-
e r s o p e r a t e f o r a fi x e d p e r i o d .
The headlamp washers only operate
when the dipped beam headlamps
are on . Automatic rain sensitive
windscreen wipers
The windscreen wipers operate au-
tomatically, without any action on the
part of the driver, if rain is detected
( s e n s o r b e h i n d t h e r e a r v i e w m i r r o r ) ,
adapting their speed to the intensity
of the rainfall.
This is controlled manually by the
driver by pushing the stalk down-
wards to the
"AUTO" position.
It is accompanied by a message on
the multifunction screen. The automatic rain sensitive wi-
pers must be reactivated if the ig-
nition has been off for more than
one minute, by pushing the stalk
downwards.
Operating fault
If an automatic wiping malfunction
occurs, the wipers will operate in in-
termittent mode.
Have it checked by a CITROËN
dealer. Do not cover the rain sensor, linked
with the sunshine sensor and located
in the centre of the windscreen be-
hind the rear view mirror.
Switch off the automatic rain sen-
sitive wipers when using an auto-
matic car wash.
In winter, to avoid damaging the
wiper blades, it is advisable to wait
until the windscreen is completely
clear of ice before activating the
automatic rain sensitive wipers.
Activation
Switching off
This is controlled manually by the
driver by moving the stalk upwards
then returning it to position
"0" .
It is accompanied by a message on
the multifunction screen.

TYRE UNDER-INFLATION DETECTION

the tyre pressure during driving and
trigger a warning in the event of
malfunction (speed above 12 mph
(20 km/h)).
U n d e r - i n fl a t e d t y r e T h e t y r e u n d e r - i n fl a t i o n d e t e c t i o n
system is an aid to driving which
does not replace the vigilance or
responsibility of the driver. Puncture
The service warning lamp
comes on in the instrument
panel, accompanied by an
audible signal and a mes-
sage on the multifunction screen lo-
cating the wheel concerned.
Check the tyre pressures as soon as
possible. This check must be carried
out when the tyres are cold. The
STOP warning lamp
comes on in the instrument
panel, accompanied by an
audible signal and a mes-
sage on the multifunction screen lo-
cating the wheel concerned.
Stop immediately, avoiding any sud-
den movement of the steering wheel
and the brakes.
Change the damaged wheel (punc-
t u r e d o r v e r y d e fl a t e d t y r e ) , a n d
have the tyre pressure checked as
soon as possible.
Sensor(s) not detected or faulty
The service warning lamp
comes on in the instrument
panel, accompanied by an
audible signal and a mes-
sage on the multifunction screen
locating the wheel or wheels which
are not detected or indicating a fault
in the system.
Have the faulty sensor(s) checked
by a CITROËN dealer. All repairs and changing of tyres
o n a w h e e l fi t t e d w i t h t h i s s y s t e m
must be carried out by a CITROËN
dealer.
If, when changing a tyre, you in-
stall a wheel which is not detected
b y y o u r v e h i c l e ( e x a m p l e : fi t t i n g
of snow tyres), you must have the
system reinitialised by a CITROËN
dealer.
This system does not avoid the
need to have the tyre pressures
checked regularly (refer to the
" T e c h n i c a l d a t a - § I d e n t i fi c a t i o n
markings" section) to ensure that
the optimum dynamic performance
of the vehicle is maintained and
prevent premature wear of the
tyres, particularly in arduous driv-
ing conditions (heavy load, high
speed).
The tyre pressures must be
checked cold, at least once a
month. Remember to check the
pressure of the spare wheel.
T h e t y r e u n d e r - i n fl a t i o n d e t e c t i o n
s y s t e m m a y e x p e r i e n c e t e m p o r a r y
interference due to electro-mag-
netic signals on a frequency close
to that used by the system.
This message is also displayed
when one of the wheels is away
from the vehicle (being repaired) or
when one or more wheels without a
s e n s o r a r e fi t t e d .

PARKING SPACE SENSORS
After measuring the parking space
available between two vehicles or
obstacles, this system gives you in-
formation on:
- t h e p o s s i b i l i t y o f fi t t i n g i n t o a f r e e space, depending on the dimen-
sions of your vehicle and the dis-
tances needed for manoeuvring,
- t h e l e v e l o f d i f fi c u l t y o f t h e m a - noeuvre to be performed.
The system does not measure spac-
es which are clearly much smaller or
l a r g e r t h a n t h e s i z e o f t h e v e h i c l e . Displays on the instrument
panel
The parking space sensor
function warning lamp can
have three different states:
- off: the function is not selected,
- o n fi x e d : the function is selected
but the conditions for measure-
ment are not yet met (direction
indicator not operating, speed
t o o h i g h ) o r t h e m e a s u r e m e n t
phase has ended.
- fl a s h i n g : measurement is in
progress or the message is being
displayed. You can activate the "parking space
sensor" function by pressing but-
ton

Operation
Y o u h a v e i d e n t i fi e d a p a r k i n g
space:
Press button A to activate the
function.
Activate the direction indicator
on the side where the space is to
be measured.
During the measuring, go for-
ward the length of the space, at
a speed less than 12 mph (ap-
p r o x i m a t e l y 2 0 k m / h ) , t o p r e p a r e
for your manoeuvre.
The system then measures the s i z e o f t h e s p a c e .
The system informs you of the
l e v e l o f d i f fi c u l t y o f t h e m a n o e u -
vre via a message on the multi-
function screen accompanied by
an audible signal.

Parking not advised
The function displays the following
types of message: The function deactivates itself auto-
matically:
- when you engage reverse gear,
- when you switch off the ignition,
- fi v e m i n u t e s a f t e r a c t i v a t i o n o f
the function or after the last mea-
surement operation,
- if the vehicle speed exceeds the threshold of 45 mph (approxi-
m a t e l y 7 0 k m / h ) f o r o n e m i n u t e .
If there is a malfunction,
have the system checked
by a CITROËN dealer.
If the lateral distance between your
vehicle and the parking space is too
great, the system may not operate.
- The function remains available
after each measurement and so
can measure a number of places
successively.
- In bad weather or in winter, en- sure that the sensors are not cov-
ered by dirt, or by ice or snow.
- The parking space sensor func- tion deactivates the front parking
sensors during the space mea-
suring phase when you are in
forward gear.

LANE DEPARTURE WARNING SYSTEM
System which detects the involun-
t a r y c r o s s i n g o f l o n g i t u d i n a l t r a f fi c
lane markings on the ground (solid
o r b r o k e n l i n e ) .
S e n s o r s , fi t t e d b e l o w t h e f r o n t b u m -
per, trigger a warning if the vehicle
drifts over a lane marking (speed
h i g h e r t h a n 5 0 m p h ( 8 0 k m / h ) ) .
This system is particularly useful on
motorways and main roads. Activation
Press button A , the indicator
lamp comes on.
Deactivation
Press button A again, the indica-
tor lamp switches off.
The status of the system remains
in the memory when the ignition is
switched off.
Detection
You are warned by the vibration of
the driver's seat cushion:
- on the right-hand side, if the marking on the ground has been
crossed on the right,
- on the left-hand side, if the mark- ing on the ground has been
crossed on the left.
No warning is transmitted while the
direction indicator is active and for
approximately 20 seconds after the
direction indicator is switched off.
A warning may be transmitted if a
d i r e c t i o n m a r k i n g ( e . g . a r r o w ) o r
n o n - s t a n d a r d m a r k i n g ( e . g . g r a f fi t i )
is crossed. Operating fault
In the event of a malfunction, the
service warning lamp comes on,
accompanied by an audible signal
and a message on the multifunction
screen.
Consult a CITROËN dealer.
The lane departure warning sys-
tem cannot, in any circumstances,
replace the need for vigilance and
responsibility on the part of the
driver. The detection may be impeded:
- if the sensors are dirty (mud,
s n o w . . . ) ,
- if the markings on the ground are worn,
- if there is little contrast between the markings on the ground and
the road surface.

PARKING SENSORS
This system indicates the proximity
of an obstacle (person, vehicle, tree,
g a t e , e t c . ) w h i c h c o m e s w i t h i n t h e
fi e l d o f d e t e c t i o n o f s e n s o r s l o c a t e d
in the bumper.
Certain types of obstacle (stake,
r o a d w o r k s c o n e , e t c . ) d e t e c t e d i n i -
tially will no longer be detected at
the end of the manoeuvre due to the
presence of blind spots. Visual assistance
This supplements the audible sig-
nal by displaying segments on the
multifunction screen which move
progressively nearer to the vehicle.
When the obstacle is near, the sym-
bol "Danger" is also displayed on the
screen.
Audible assistance
The proximity information is given by
a discontinuous audible signal, the
frequency of which increases as the
vehicle approaches the obstacle.
The sound emitted by the speaker
( r i g h t o r l e f t ) i n d i c a t e s t h e s i d e o n
which the obstacle is located.
When the distance between the
vehicle and the obstacle becomes
less than approximately thirty centi-
metres, the audible signal becomes
continuous.
This function cannot, in any circum-
stances, take the place of the vigi-
lance and responsibility of the driver.
Rear parking sensors
The system is switched on by en-
gaging reverse gear. This is accom-
panied by an audible signal.
The system is switched off when you
exit reverse gear.

Front parking sensors
In addition to the rear parking sen-
sors, the front parking sensors are
triggered when an obstacle is de-
tected in front and the speed of the
v e h i c l e i s s t i l l b e l o w 6 m p h ( 1 0 k m / h ) .
The sound emitted by the speaker
( f r o n t o r r e a r ) i n d i c a t e s w h e t h e r t h e
obstacle is in front or behind.
The front parking sensors are inter-
rupted if the vehicle stops for more
than three seconds in forward gear,
if no further obstacles are detected
or when the speed of the vehicle ex-
c e e d s 6 m p h ( 1 0 k m / h ) . Deactivation/Activation of the
front and rear parking sensors
The function is deactivated by press-
ing this button. The indicator lamp
on the button comes on.
Pressing this button again reacti-
vates the function. The indicator
lamp on the button switches off.
The function will be deactivated au-
tomatically if a trailer is being towed

If an operating fault occurs,
when reverse gear is en-
gaged this warning lamp is
displayed on the instrument
panel and/or a message appears on
the screen, accompanied by an au-
d i b l e s i g n a l ( s h o r t b l e e p ) .
Consult a CITROËN dealer.
In bad weather or in winter, ensure
that the sensors are not covered
with mud, ice or snow. When re-
verse gear is engaged, an audible
s i g n a l ( l o n g b l e e p ) i n d i c a t e s t h a t
the sensors may be dirty.
When the vehicle is moving at a
s p e e d b e l o w 6 m p h ( 1 0 k m / h ) , c e r -
tain sound sources (motorcycle, lor-
r y , p n e u m a t i c d r i l l , e t c . ) m a y t r i g g e r
the audible signals of the parking
sensor system.

Protective cover
Removal
Remove the protective cover by
u n c l i p p i n g fi r s t p o i n t 1 , then 3
and 4 .
Unclip point 2 pulling towards
you, then lift.
R e fi t t i n g
Clip point 2 fi r s t .
Lower the cover, centring it.
Clip points 1 and 4 , pushing ver-
tically and slightly rearwards.
Clip point 3 , pushing vertically. Bleeding water from the fuel
filter

To evacuate the water, slacken the
bleed screw or the water-in-Diesel
sensor, which is located at the base
