ence of condensation on the inner
surfaces of the headlamps and rear
lamps is not an indication of a fault;
this disappears a few minutes after
switching on the lamps.

Indicator and warning lamps
Visual indicators informing the driver that a system is in
operation (operation or deactivation indicator lamps) or of
the occurrence of a fault (warning lamp).
When the ignition is switched on
Certain warning lamps come on for a few seconds when
the vehicle's ignition is switched on.
When the engine is started, these same warning lamps
should switch off.
If they remain on, before moving off, refer to the informa-
tion on the warning lamp concerned.
Associated warnings
The switching on of certain warning lamps may be a
ccompanied
by an audible signal and a message on the multifunc tion screen.
Operation indicator lamps

Certain warning lamps may come on in two different modes.
Only by relating the type of lighting to the operat ing status of the
vehicle can it be ascertained whether the situation is normal or
whether a fault has occurred.

you. Pull the stalk to return to dipped
beam headlamps.
Hazard

located on the dashboard, has been
operated. The left-hand and right-hand direction

MANUAL AIR CONDITIONING
The air conditioning system oper-
ates with the engine running.
A. DRIVER'S CONTROL PANEL
1. Adjustment of the air fan speed
The air fan adjustment only operates
when the engine is running.

B y r e d u c i n g t h e ο¬ o w t o m i n i m u m ,
you deactivate the air conditioning
system (OFF).
To maintain an acceptable level of
comfort in the passenger compart-
ment, you should not leave this
control too long in the OFF position.
2. Adjustment of air distribution
ο Press button 2 to make the dis-
play run through the different
types of air distribution.
The air distribution chosen
is shown by the lighting of
the corresponding warning
lamps on the display 2 .
3. Mode of adjustment of temperature for the
passenger
ο Press button 3 to have indepen-
dent passenger control of cabin
air temperature. The warning lamp
goes off.
While the passenger is adjusting tem-
perature, the warning lamp comes on. 4. Air recirculation
This control is for isolating disagree-
able odours or fumes coming from
outside.
ο Press button 4 to cut off the in-
take of outside air and to acti-
vate recirculation of the air in the
passenger compartment. The
warning lamp comes on.
Avoid the extended use of air re- circulation (risk of deterioration
of air quality and misting).
ο
Press button 4 again to allow the
intake of exterior air. The warning
lamp goes off.
5. Air conditioning
T h e a i r f a n c o n t r o l ( a d j u s t i n g t h e ο¬ o w
of air) has to be activated in order for
air conditioning to be obtained.
ο Press button 5 . The warning
lamp comes on.
To be effective, the air condi-
tioning should be operated only
with the windows closed.
If your vehicle is not equipped with
air conditioning, you will have the
same control panel but without the
A/C button.

5. Air recirculation
ο Press button 5 to cut off the in-
take of air from outside and to
activate recycling of the air in
the passenger compartment. the
warning lamp comes on.
Whilst retaining the other adjust-
ments, this function prevents un-
pleasant odours or fumes entering
the vehicle. Avoid extended use of
air recirculation (risk of deterioration
of air quality and misting).
ο Press button 5 again to allow
entry of air from the outside. The
warning lamp goes off.
Air recirculation can also be controlled by
pressing the switch located on the lower
left of the steering wheel (see "Fixed
centred controls steering wheel").
6. Activation/deactivation of
rear passenger controls
This button allows you to
permit or not the rear pas-
sengers to use their adjust-
ment controls.
There are three possible states for
this button:
Locking of the rear
passenger controls
Authorisation of the rear
passenger controls
Reduction of the

passengers
With additional air conditioning, in
cold weather you are advised to
close the supply of air to the rear
passengers (no hot air distribution
possible via these air vents).
The rear passengers can use their
adjustment controls at their conve-
nience.
The driver imposes his adjustment
on the rear passengers. In this case,
the rear passenger controls are de-
activated. 7. Panel display mode: black
panel function
This function turns the
screen and switch backlight-
ing on or off.
- Function activated, pressing any button will illuminate the screen
temporarily.
- pressing button 7 deactivates
the function, the illumination of
of buttons and screen is again
permanent.
This function optimises notably the
visual comfort for driving at night.
8. Demisting/defrosting the rear screen
This function is active only when the
engine is running.
ο Press on button 8 to activate/
deactivate the electric demist-
ing/defrosting of the rear screen
and, according to version, of the
door mirrors. The warning lamp
comes on and the symbol ap-
pears in the screen.
It switches off automatically
to prevent excessive con-
sumption of power.
This button activates the recircu-
lation of air within the passenger
compartment and also has an
automatic function.

Deadlocking using the key
ο Turn the key to the right in the
driver's door lock to lock the ve-
hicle completely and hold it in this
position for more than two sec-
onds to close the windows auto-
matically in addition to locking.
ο Turn the key to the right again
w i t h i n ο¬ v e s e c o n d s t o d e a d l o c k
the vehicle.
Deadlocking renders the exterior and
interior door controls inoperative.
It also deactivates the manual cen-
tral control button.
Therefore, never leave anyone in-
side the vehicle when it is dead-
locked.
Deadlocking also triggers the timed
illumination of the exterior side spot
lamps and guide-me-home lighting,
if this is activated.
ο First press this button to fold the
key.
Locating your vehicle
This function allows you to identify
your vehicle from a distance, espe-
cially when the light is poor. Your ve-
hicle must be locked.
ο Press the closed padlock on the
remote control.
This will bring on the courtesy lamps
and exterior side spotlamps, as well
a s ο¬ a s h i n g t h e d i r e c t i o n i n d i c a t o r s
for a few seconds. Guide-me-home lighting
Anti-theft protection
Electronic engine immobiliser
The key contains an electronic chip
which has a special code. When the
ignition is switched on, this code
must be recognised in order for
starting to be possible.
This electronic engine immobiliser
locks the engine management sys-
tem a few minutes after the ignition
is switched off and prevents starting
of the engine by anyone who does
not have the key.
In the event of a mal-
function, you are in-
formed by lighting of
this warning lamp, an
audible signal and a
message on the multifunction screen.
In this case, your vehicle does not
start; contact a CITROΓN dealer as
soon as possible.
Folding the key
A press on this button op-
erates the guide-me-home
lighting (lighting of the side-
lamps, dipped beam head-
lamps, number plate lamps
and exterior side spotlamps (located
underneath the door mirrors)).
A second press before the end of
the timing cancels the guide-me-
home lighting.

lighting of the direction indicators for
approximately two seconds.
According to version, the door mir-
rors fold at the same time.

Remote control problem
Following disconnection of the ve-
hicle battery, replacement of the re-
mote control battery or in the event
of a remote control malfunction, you
can no longer unlock, lock or locate
your vehicle.
ο First of all, use the key in the lock
to unlock or lock your vehicle.
ο Then, reinitialise the remote
control.
If the problem persists, contact a
CITROΓN dealer as soon as pos-
sible.
Reinitialisation
ο Switch off the ignition.
ο Turn the key to position 2
(Ignition on) .
ο Press the closed padlock imme-
diately for a few seconds.
ο Switch off the ignition and re-
move the key from the ignition
switch.
The remote control is fully opera-
tional again. Battery ref.: CR0523/3 volts.
This replacement battery is avail-
able from CITROΓN dealers.
If the remote control bat-
t e r y i s ο¬ a t , y o u a r e i n -
formed by lighting of this
warning lamp, an audible
signal and a message on
the multifunction screen.
ο Unclip the casing using a coin at
the notch.
ο S l i d e t h e ο¬ a t b a t t e r y o u t o f i t s
location.
ο Slide the new battery into its
location observing the original
direction.
ο Clip the casing together.
ο Reinitialise the remote control.
