FOLDING AND EJECTING THE KEY

Changing the remote control battery

Battery: CR 0523 - 3 V.
A f t e r a c h a n g e o f b a t t e r y , i t m a y b e n e c e s s a r y t o r e - i n i t i a l i s e t h e r e m o t e c o n t r o l . T o d o t h a t , s w i t c h o n t h e i g n i t i o n a n d i m m e d i a t e l y p r e s s b u t t o n B on y o u r r e m o t e c o n t r o l t o t r i g g e r t h e a c t i o n d e s i r e d . T h i s m a y t a k e s o m e t e n s e c o n d s .Note: Make a careful note of the numbers for the keys and for the remote control on the ASSISTANCE card. Keep this in a safe place.

Except when reinitialising, the remote control cannot function while the key is in the ignition, even when switched off.
Warning: by inadvertently actioning the remote control, when for example it is in your pocket, you can unlock the vehicle without your realising it.
However, if none of the doors are opened within thirty seconds following an unlocking, the doors will automatically relock.
Warning: there is a risk of damage if the replacement batte ry is not the correct one.
Only use batteries that are identical or equivalent to those approved by CITROËN.

K E Y S
It is dangerous to operate the deadlocking when a person is in the vehicle as unlocking is impossible from the inside (without the remote control).
The key number is on the label attached to the key.
Should you lose your key or remote control, a CITROËN d ealer can supply replacements.
If you unlock your vehicle using the key because of a problem with the battery, be aware that opening/closing a door with the window closed can ser iously damage the glass, even to the point of breaking it. See "Access".
ELECTRONIC IMMOBILISER KEY
The key operates all the vehicle’s l o c k s a s w e l l a s t h e i g n i t i o n .Note: For safety reasons, a buzzer will sound if you have switched off the ignition and opened the driver’s door without having removed the ignition key.

Deadlocking: Central locking using the key

I n o r d e r n o t t o d i s c h a r g e t h e b a t - t e r y w h i l e t h e e n g i n e i s s t o p p e d , your vehicle goes automati-cally into economy mode after a maximum of 3 0 m i n u t e s . E c o n - o m y m o d e i s i n d i c a t e d b y a m e s - s a g e o n t h e s c r e e n .

Release the key as soon as the e n g i n e s t a r t s . N e v e r t u r n i t w h i l e t h e e n g i n e i s r u n n i n g .
NEVER REMOVE THE IGNITION KEY BEFORE THE ENGINE HAS COME TO A COMPLETE STOP.
IT IS ESSENTIAL ALWAYS TO DRIVE WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING, SO AS TO RETAIN STEERING AND BRAKING ASSISTANCE (risk of the steering lock engaging and loss of safety features).
Do not hang a heavy object on the key; it could pull the key out of alignment in the switch and could cause a malfunction.
When stationary, having removed the key, carefully turn the steering wheel if you wish to lock the steering.

LOCKING/UNLOCKING FROM THE INSIDE
A press on the control A operates the electric central locking and unlocking, provided all the doors are closed.
It is still possible to open the doors from the inside.
Note: Control A is inactive if the vehicle has been locked using the remote control or the key.
The three statuses for locking/unlock-ing the vehicle are signalled by the warning lamp on the control A: I t fl a s h e s w h e n t h e v e h i c l e i s locked, engine stopped.
It lights up when the ignition is switched on, vehicle locked.It goes out when the vehicle is unlocked.

R E A R S E A T S
Seat cushion folded.
Stow the head restraints.
Press the control A located at the end of the backrest and fully tilt for-wards.
The benchseat backrest can be folded in two sections. When you reposition the backrest, make sure that it locks in place.
Your vehicle's boot can be kept isolated from the passenger com-partment.
To lock the access to the boot:1. Place the benchseat in its correct position.The red warning lamp on control A should no longer be visible.
2. Insert the ignition key in the lock.3. Lock it.
Before moving the seats
So as to avoid damaging the seat belts by jamming them, take care to keep them to the sides of the backrest.
LOCKING/UNLOCKING OF THE ACCESS INTO THE BOOT VIA THE REAR BENCHSEATREAR CENTRAL SEAT BELT
For easier opening of the seat belt cover D , y o u s h o u l d fi r s t r a i s e t h e central head restraint.
I n s e r t t h e fi r s t f a s t e n i n g C into the front left hand (black) buckle, then insert the second fastening B into the front right hand buckle.
