The driver

of the steering wheel; the front passenger'sairbag is incorporated in the dashboard above
the glove box.
Activat
ion
The a
irbags are tr

ly,
unless the passenger's
front airbag is
deactivated, in the event of a serious
front
impact applied to all or part of the front impact
zone A , in the longitudinal centreline of the
vehicle on a horizontal plane and directed fromthe front t
o the rear of th
e vehicle.

f the
front occu

f the vehicle
and the dashboard to cushion their
forward
movement.

Safety
For the airbags to be fully effective, observe the following safety rules:
Front airbags
Do not drive holding the steering wheel by itsspokes or resting your hands on the centre part of the wheel.
Passen
gers must not place their feet on the
dashboard. If possible, do not smoke as deplo
yment o
f
the airba
gs can cause burns or the risk o
f
injury from a ci
garette or pipe.
Never remove or p
ierce t
he steer
ing w
heel or
hit it violently. Side airba
gs
Use only approved covers on the seats. These

gs. Consult a CITRO
ËN dealer.
Do not
fix or attach an
ythin
g to the seat
backs
(clothin
g...). This could cause in
jury
to the chest or arms i
f the side airbag is
triggere
d.
Do not sit with the upper part of the body any nearer to the door than necessary.
Curtain airbags Do not fix or attach anything to the roof. Thiscould cause injury to the head if the curtain airbag is triggered. Do not remove the
grab handles installed
on the roo

Sit in a normal upri
ght position.
Wear a correct
ly a
djuste
d seat
belt.
Do not leave anything between the occupants and the airbags (a child, pet, object...). This could hamper the operation of the airbags o
r
injure the occupants. After an acc
ident or if th
e vehicle has bee
n

len or
broken
into,

hecked.
All wor
k on t
he a
irbag system
is str
ictly
forbidden unless it is carried out by quali
fied
personnel of the CITROËN dealer network.
Even if all of the precautions mentioned are obser ved, a risk of injury or of minor burns to the head, chest or arms when an airba
g is
triggered cannot be ruled out. The ba
g inflates almost instantl
y (within a
few
milliseconds
) then de
flates within the same
time
discharging the hot gas v
ia open
ings
provided
for this
purpose.
